QUOTE(FADIL FLHR @ Aug 11 2011, 12:52 AM) Because in order to get the maps, you need to subscribe to the service (unlike the garminXT which has built in maps). But so far no telco in Malaysia supports this yet...and the rate will be killing unless you are using unlimited 3g |

As of today, Garmin for iPhone only has maps for US. The maps are not downloaded, and must use data-plan to download as you move.
There are no maps for other countries yet. You can't download MFM/MSM map into it. We have to wait for the next release of Garmin for iPhone. |

QUOTE(clapika @ Aug 12 2011, 10:40 AM) Not necessary, most of the GPS app is function just like other ordinary GPS navigation devices, the map is actually stored in the phone, it doesn't need to load the map details from the internet during navigation.Example GPS app: Papago, TomTom, all these app can do off-line navigation, i.e. they don't need internet connection for navigation. Yup,so far I can use the Papago without internet Example GPS app: Papago, TomTom, all these app can do off-line navigation, i.e. they don't need internet connection for navigation. |

QUOTE(clapika @ Aug 12 2011, 12:00 PM) owh.mean if i off 3g n data i still can use papago GPS? nice!!!. cannot mate...u need to turn on 3g/data before sending or receiving mms..its becoz mms need cellular data/3g network to establish the connection with the telco server... One more thing, if we off 3g and data can we still receive MMS or send MMS ? |
