haih, a win in 9 games, this is just NOT GOOD ENOUGH ! we have pretty much the same squad.. glen for arby, aqui for alon, krgy for hyp.. injuries is part of the game, heck, gerrard n torres only played together 14matches all of last season n we got into the ecl quarters n 86points is the highest for sometime.. n this season ? i just dont understand whats going on in the team.
rafa aint a risk taker but though i thought lucas was much btr (though at times he dwell a lil long on the ball)..he certaily aint a final3rd player to me.. he even had a chance in the 1st half where a lazy sliced left foot shot should rather be a composed 2 touch goal ! he has so much experience..n he aint that young anymore! gosh !
i tot aqulani should come on the same time as babel..though lucas was hardworking n winning the ball back..
*
that's the thing, we've only been replacing players instead of having a set team and adding more talent to it. The fact is the league quality went up another notch or two again this season and it's no suprise with all the money that's coming into the premier league. Injuries are part of the game but not when most of the regular first eleven gets it. Heck i dont think that the back 4 had more than 2 games in a row with the same players in the defensive line.

Regardless, today's play is much better, and only time will tell if this will continue. YNWA thumbup.gif

EDIT : rather than add another post tongue.gif ..... Unless i'm wrong if one of the fullbacks goes up, the other should stay in defense to maintain at least 3 defenders at the back and that extra defensive midfield should in theory at least be able to provide enough cover against a counter attack. Although i actually didnt keep track of where the fullbacks are during this game but that's what the team should be like. In fact the current setup is that our fullbacks are actually wing backs meaning they do alot of attacking down the sides as we don't actually have true wingers (apart from riera, and even then he is not stuck there anymore). That's where that extra defensive midfield comes into play.

if a manc does it, i call it a dive. if a blue does it, i call it a dive. a gunner does it, it's still a dive. I just can't blind an eye and be happy about it.

As I already said, it IS a dive, just not a blatant one. But I don't feel it's a "disgrace". But still, as I said earlier, a dive IS dive.

Added on November 10, 2009, 6:21 amNgog, Lucas, Babel, Riera all had a good game smile.gif That's pretty good smile.gif

Johnson and Gerrard were both outstanding. Insua and Skrtel were both a little wasteful, whereas Benny wasn't into the game at all sad.gif

out of desperation.. Ngog cant do anything in that situation but to fall down.. it's controversial and i am prepared to be flamed.. lol..

kuyt should do the headers in the box instead of crosses.. relying solely on Ngog is just too much for him..

There is no way of sugar coating it really. It was a pathetic result. Almost losing to a team in the bottom 5, at home? Sure we have injuries but in reina, agger, skrtel, johnson, benayoun, kuyt, mascherano n riera we have 8 internationals. We should still be expected to win should we not? One win in nine?

Added on November 10, 2009, 8:03 amFor those coming in here wondering why that **** got reported... No harm in coming in and talking about the dive. A fact is indeed a fact but when u come in with the clear intent of stirring up something, you cross the line, its that simple really. Geeze mancs in particular would know right? Even if I wrote a post with content, I'd still get violent objections if I said ronaldo dived.

agreed with duke. this is a bread and butter game.. it should BE an easy win.. we just need to win this kind of games IF we want to challenge for top honours.

I guess now and most likely, is to challenge whether Liverpool will be qualified for next UCL...It is such an eye sore really, but things like this could happen sometime. You don't really expect to win every game playing at home, sometimes you draw.

I didnt create the story. I just post it here. Its related to LFC so whats wrong with that? Regardless whether its inside the penalty box or not, a dive is a dive..and i'm happy to get reported for posting the truth..

There is nothing wrong for posting the reports but instead of discussing the dive you choose to insult the team... that is the man problem.

We all know Ngog dived for the PK and that is true, we are not denying it and I think some of us felt ashamed as we got a draw because of the penalty kick.

I do think we welcome a healthy discussion rather than posting the word Shame on you.....

Haihh..very difficult Liverpool got fan like you..

My last question here..(u dont need to reply if you got no brain)..

Did Ngog deliberately dives to get a penalty last nite, yes or no?
*
Idiot, if people don't reply to you means they've got no brain?

That's the most maliciously fallacious statement I've heard. Not to mention a +1 on your stupidity. Go troll your own forums, ye glory hunter.

Don't let me catch you trolling here again.

Added on November 10, 2009, 9:55 amAnyways, since I have the time left before work, I'm gonna post my few thoughts.

1) We dominated, but we didn't capitalize on certain "sitters", which I don't think we can blame anyone since we're playing Ngog in front with Kuyt + Benny supplying the balls left and right.

Overall, Johnson proves he's a GREAT option when we need the attacking edge. I was very vocal about his long range passing and his tendency to shoot more than to cross acurately, but I believe he's going to have what it takes to be an "attacking defender".

The only thing he lacks is an ACCURATE ROCKET SHOT

As for Insua, he makes a versatile defender, just like Johnson, but I think he needs more space, because most of the time he just doesn't cut through where it matters (and ends up shooting at the wall)

Glad to have Gerrard back, we missed that flair. Somehow there was something weird between him and Aquilani, but I think it can be sorted out after few matches.

Aquilani? (The little Prince) I'll wait at least 10 matches before giving an opinion. And I mean 10 full matches, not 10x10 minutes display. Remember Torres? We gave him that space to breathe. We should give him that space too, to prove himself.

Babel as usual = big flop. I was still thinking that Ngog > Babel, had Babel been given the start I doubt he'll convert those chances. Not that Babel doesn't deliver, he's a fine lad, but tries too hard to be someone else who he isn't meant to be (Messi, anyone?) Babel is becoming more of a "poacher" style striker, so I'm not so sure if it works with the tandem of our attacking fulcrum which relies on a physically fit, pacy and technically adept striker.

Ngog; what can I say about him? He's developing well, but its too early to say "YES" or "NO". He reminds me of a certain poacher (not Owen), but someone who is in between paces and positioning. We all have seen how he missed the sitters, but given the fact that he's got decent positioning, I'm going to look at probability of our midfielders not being able to supply the ball accurately.

Benny: 1st half = good, by the time he got subbed he was nearly sinking. Let's hope our Israeli will recover fast and generate that momentum that we all liked about him.

That's all for now.

Well, from what I can see, at least MOST of our people are not in denial.
We think that it's a dive and the draw was not glorious or sorts. We had chances but didn't took them.

Actually i'd rather take a lost than a draw with a dive.

To those mu trolls over here, get a life will ya. laugh.gif

Ngog definitely diving..haha..
Johnson, really good dribbling to cut 2 players into the penalty area.
Anyway, we are looking into next game. Man city.
