I noticed the game tempo become slow and less running into penalty box once lucas being substitued. Seems like aquilani position is behind gerrard. Thought that his in front of the captain. sweat.gif

we resort to diving to salvage a point? what a disgrace

That wasn't a blatant dive.. again. I'm not too sure, but if you look closely, I think there was contact on Ngog's right foot. The one at the back.

aquilani played, but to me his performance today still didn't justify his 20m tag

if a manc does it, i call it a dive. if a blue does it, i call it a dive. a gunner does it, it's still a dive. I just can't blind an eye and be happy about it.

Nothing we can do about it at the moment.Still, the money to compensate Rafa's contract seems to be saving Rafa's ass at the moment.

The backline are shitty and Carra was shaking his head wink.gif

I dunno, i saw glimpse of hope in some of aquilani's movements. 8 minutes is too short of a time anyway.

Again babel was dissapointing with miss passes, running into defenders and simply waiting for the ball 90% of the time.

Rest of the team did well enough. Good runs from ngog is a good sign. The 'dive' was tough to judge as the defender didnt get the ball at all and if it wasnt that ngog's step was so large (haha) it wouldve plowed through his legs anyway.

Still need to step up in defending set pieces though, but i cant blame the defence for the 2nd birm goal as it was a superb strike. And still need to find a way to crack that parked bus tongue.gif

haih, a win in 9 games, this is just NOT GOOD ENOUGH ! we have pretty much the same squad.. glen for arby, aqui for alon, krgy for hyp.. injuries is part of the game, heck, gerrard n torres only played together 14matches all of last season n we got into the ecl quarters n 86points is the highest for sometime.. n this season ? i just dont understand whats going on in the team.
rafa aint a risk taker but though i thought lucas was much btr (though at times he dwell a lil long on the ball)..he certaily aint a final3rd player to me.. he even had a chance in the 1st half where a lazy sliced left foot shot should rather be a composed 2 touch goal ! he has so much experience..n he aint that young anymore! gosh !
i tot aqulani should come on the same time as babel..though lucas was hardworking n winning the ball back..

To be honest,N'Gog played well but the dive was really something disgraceful. Now, he is on par with Gerrard and one spot behind Torres in the goal scoring chart.

Glenny played well.No question about that. Most of the attack was set up by him.Well worth of the 17.5m we spent on him.

Riera started up quite well, capped with an assist but the hamstring haunt him once more.

2-2 is not bad news. The bad news is

we are losing benny and Riera on Hamstring injury.

lucky thing its the international break now.. yes glenny certainly adds dimension to our attack but mcfadden aint gonna track back like kuyt does, so against better teams n top teams..his defense will come to attention where at times he can be very fragile.. he needs to improve defensively

about our fullbacks, I think they should concentrate more on defense than attack. i like to think them as an "option" instead of being in an attacking strategy. give an example of steve finnan and riise. what i don't like to see is that after insua or glen passed the ball to someone, they don't step back to prepare for defend, instead they push further in front and gives chances to counter attacks.
