My concern was monthly bill, because currently my prepaid usage is less than RM 30 per month. I know having an iPhone would make it impossible for me to maintain the same kind of usage. Hence I chose iPod.
Other thing I notice is the battery usage. I have to charge the iPod everyday with the usual usage (songs, videos, twitter, occasional games), I imagine iPhone would need the same amount of charging or more which would be inconvenient for me because my current phone usually only need charging once every 3-4 days.

If for only calling and texting I'd be better off with my current phone.

I just bought ipod touch 4g.
My advice is take ipod , not iphone. The maxis package is too expensive with 24month contract. The digi package ....well I can't get 3G outside town area.
Unless you got a lot of money to buy iphone without any package contract from operators.

I hv ipod 4th gen. It got evrything except telephony. Here my opinion to choose between iphone or ipod. Answer this question: what purpose u want the iDevice for? If u thinking about games, internet, organizer, music, then just get an ipod. But if u need a phone, buy iphone ONLY if it meet yr budget. Dun get burdened with expensive phone, coz cheaper phone still can do the same thing: call and sms. furthermore, if evrything squeze into 1 device, the battery cant last to meet all yr need. If yr ipod died, it wont gv u much trouble. But if yr phone died while u r out, u lost 1 of yr basic needs in life. in term of battery life, ipod is much batter. Last i charged my ipod was yesterday noon. Then i listen to music all long in the afternoon, then stop for a while before i start to play games at night for couple hours. Play games for a while again this morning, nvr turn off if not using, now the bat is still half full! it really impressed me.

In case need to online at non-wifi area... Just use ur phone to create wifi hotspot and ipod to browse internet, like that can extend battery life for ur phone.

More convenience coz if anyone contact u, it won't interrupt yr surfing activity.

I just wrote an article about iTouch iPhone and iPad yesterday for my Blog called Ringgit Wise Fool. Came to the conclusion, better not to get iPhone instead use a normal phone + iTouch and it want to surf while on the go, get a MiFi. Moreover, more and more fast food restaurants and kopitiam now offering free wifi. The thing I learn from my years of gila handphones is - today's model becomes obsolete tomorrow. With a mifi, any of your gadget can be connectted to Broadband as long as it has wifi capabilities. To read more about MiFi - click below link to my Blog http://www.ringgitwisefool.blogspot.com/This post has been edited by Gen-X: Jan 14 2011, 04:47 PM
