i am looking forward to buy either an iphone or an itouch. both of them look similar but i am not sure which to choose. i will choose to buy USED for both the items.

i like the internet browsing and apps on it. but the phone feature i am okok with it only. because of the nature of the places i go, a delicate phone is not a good option. i often have greasy or dirty hands.

but if i were to choose a itouch, it will be a burden to bring an extra thing out and make my pocket heavier.

is there such thing to duplicate a simcard? i mean like making 2 copies of the same card? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

iphone n ipod touch is somehow different..

iphone has extra advantage than ipod touch... which is sim card for call/sms/mms and camera for pic and video.

while ipod touch is just for movie, music, application, wireless. ipod touch DO NOT have sim card. it only have wireless for surfing.

the price is ofcourse different, iphone much more expensive than ipod touch.

so it shouldnt be compare because it is consider 2 different thing. unless you compare iphone with nokia then u can ask for which one is better.

if you can afford iphone... u can skip ipod touch because everything u need in ipod touch u will get it in iphone.

it's called an ipod touch, not itouch tongue.gif i know its not a big deal, but i think 'itouch' seems kinda dirty LOL

i understand ur situation. i guess you should get the iphone. and since you can afford it, get a tough casing as well so you wont spoil it. maybe one thick, rugged one for the 'places you go', and another thinner, better-looking one when you're juz going out or something.

some stuff to think about though. the price difference might be quite big (im not sure about 2nd hand prices) so if you think the iphone is worth it then no problem. also, an advantage of having separate gadgets is battery life...say if u have an ipod touch, u can just play games n surf on it until the battery dies. if iphone, when the battery is dead, you cant make/receive calls anymore ;p

but yeah carrying only one gadget is nice. easier for travelling as well since only need to bring one charger

if the ONLY purpose is entertainment and you're happy with ur w910, then ipod it is. im pretty happy with my SE C902 + ipod touch. i dont need much navigation aids (kuching n miri is pretty small hehe but i have google maps on my phone...no GPS of course). the C902 camera is already impressive. i still prefer a physical keyboard. i get to game on my ipod until the battery dies. i dont travel much so chargers arent much of an issue. i dont need to go online everywhere i go (well im just a student), but atleast i can still check my email on my phone.

so yeah, for now i dont need an iphone, so if u're like me u shud get the ipod touch.

i'll reconsider when the new iphone comes out next year tongue.gif

If you've got budget for iPhone, it's btr that you jus grab the iPhone. You might regret getting iPod instead of iPhone later, but it's hardly you will regret getting iPhone instead iPod touch. What's inside iPod touch, iPhone has them all, but not the other way round. The latest iPod touch and iPhone 3Gs both have the same audio chipset so the sound quality is actually the same, slight diff would b there might b some electromagnetic interference due to em signal transmitting? but i don't think normal users will b bothered much by it, you might even not notice it xD

icic extended battery life is an attractive feature if u have separate gadgets. an iphone last me 3 quarter of a day only. i borrowed a iphone 3g from a fren the other day.

guess if i want an iphone then i'll have to get the extra battery pack casing

my fren bought iphone and the only complaint he has -- he uses the applications n games too much (ipod touch features) that his battery always runs flat. he needs to charge it EVERY DAY. and don forget that iphone n ipod touch battery cannot b changed. so it's like batt life = device life unless u wanna go back to maxis to pay extra for a new battery.

i've been thinking bout this question also but decided to make do with my nokia n70 and plan to get ipod touch. the price for ipod touch 1199, and iphone (with contract) is 2.6k+

im using ipod touch as my everyday tiny supercomputer and man its so so cool.. It's thinner, sexier, lighter and almost as zippy as 3gs and oh.. it a hell lot cheaper too.. and heck, no contract to sign.

Disclaimer: size is a bit smaller than iphone but thats small matter.

Can download my emails (work and personal) to ipod touch whenever wi fi is available..so really it's whole lot better than turning on my netbook to check the mail while outstation. Wonder if i can live without it now. hehehe

Work is work and play is play. i prefer to separate between the 2.

iphone? might as well get a cheap qwerty hard button smartphone. save $$$$$$$

Haha, that's why you should take gd care of ur iPhone xD Actually, I do hv separate gadgets as well, i3G and Sony X series, I don't think getting iPod touch and iPhone would b a gd idea coz what iPod has iPhone pun ada, btr off getting other brand for PMP like Sony, Zune or Creative, also they hv btr sound quality than iPod.

For me, I will choose iPhone over iPod Touch because iPhone can serve as phone, ipod and a PDA. Of course iPod touch did almost the same thing but it misses out the camera functions and communication function via phone. smile.gif

IMHO, Iphone tends to die faster than ipod touch:
1) Magnetometer inside easily spoilt others parts
2) Using 3g online, Iphone will definitely generate more heat
3) Built in GPS inside phone isn't a good things, my recent phone just spoilt because i use the GPS "intensively"

but this is give and take la...depends on your budget or usage, God don't create perfect thing, so do human.
