1st Project-Parallettes laugh.gif

Describtion:
Parallettes are great pieces of equipment that enable you to perform certain types of body weight exercises.
They are useful in performing L-Sits and Handstand Push-ups. You can also use them to perform push-ups and possibly a few other things depending on your imagination.

Time Taken: 30-60mins

Get all the thing ready, here we go

Assembly everything and try, erm, it seem not so stable for my weight(damn, i am too heavy), hence i cut it 5 inch shorter from 24" to 19"

This question sure will pop out. hey man. for such thing, it is damn cheap!
oh ya, i forgot to buy the end cap, when i turn back to the shop, he said out of stock. will get it at other shop when i am out again

erm. get yourself a two chair and place your arm on it and try it.
but this thing not main for push up kei, mostly for gymnastics type of exercise

I'll break that for sure,would be stronger with high pressure pipes with much thicker walls but the cost is much more.

You're right,push ups between 2 tables/chairs is much harder!

not really, after i cut it shorter, it can support my BW pretty well
my BW is more or less like you 89-92kg

next project will be the dips station.

Give it a shot. It is surprisingly strong. I dipped with bw+40kg which is 110 kg on that bfr

if you are hardcore enough, then just use PVC pipe only without sponge, i'm going to diy one for my parents. laugh.gif

google it and you can get tonne of result.

i'm not going to google for you, but i will give you tips. search "Homemade squat rack" or "DIY Squat Rack"

some use timber frame, scaffolding, hollow section get it done at metal shop and bla bla bla


Added on January 3, 2010, 1:44 amPhew get it done in 2 hour time

but the width a little too far, gotta redo reduce the width.

If you're planning to put it at home, then glue the joints.

Its sturdy, my friend of over 100kg was standing on one of the parallettes, most it bend a lil, didn't break at all.

sure it is glue, or else it wont be able to support me, but i make it too large, have redo it again
it keep shaking. gotta cut it short and brace it

ya limitation
but shaky not really a problem la.

Unless you're wobbly and want to fall over, i think it won't cause any problems.

What's the diameter for this baby? and do shops only sell PVC pipes in 3m length?

Thought of making the dip station with PVC pipes and got the dimensions, but dad came in and said his staff could weld me one made from steel pipes with my dimensions. Lol. Gonna post it up after he gets it done this few days.

no idea the diameter, from eyetimate should be 3-4" pipe
pvc pipe come in 6m
