But if I use concrete I can't increase weight the next time and its permanently fastened to the barbell. Metal bars is not a problem for me to find cuz my dad's shop has them. But I haven't thought of how to modify them yet.

Until today I'm not sure if anybody's been able to fabricate them DIY style. The weights have to be even all around and not heavier one a particular edge. Also I'd think the process of fabricating your own DIY plates would be rather complicated making it a rather implausible option.

I was thinking of using thick ropes and hanging weights/ buckets of water at the sides on it like those olden days . But there might be swinging causing imbalances.

just use chains

hang those chains onto a carabiner then onto a collar.

5 ft of 5/8'' diameter chains = 20 lbs

you can use chains not just a chain.

how many bucket of waters do u need and it would be rather cumbersome with ropes and water buckets.

something like that

the way it was setup is for accommodating resistance, light at the bottom , heavy at the top. you can choose to put the chains higher to avoid it from deloading at the ground. It's just a suggestion though

correction 1 length of 5/8' chains weigh approx. 20 lbs. eg. 5 of those each side is approximately 100 lbs and a total of 200 lbs/

Good idea, will try to find some hardware shop which sells chains for cheap, which I highly doubt so lol. That would be 50 feet of chains making helluva noise in my backyard.

This is only a side project for home training, I would be using the oly bar in my uni's gym most of the time now the sem has started.

I think I'll just go to the children's playground and use the metal parallel bars. Can also use it for reverse row.

Oh yeah, while visitng S'pore, I notice quite a number of guys here actually use the public bars to do dips, pull ups, push ups. They know their shit!

Too wide can lead to shoulder injury lol in long term.
