AS the world's biggest and richest club, Manchester United reach a global fanbase.

Part of the attraction for fans around the world has been the football luminaries, such as George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton, who have graced the Old Trafford turf in a Manchester United shirt over the years.

Recently, Manchester United have continued to attract or develop some of the game's biggest names, with England stalwarts such as Paul Scholes and David Beckham having been regular fixtures in the Reds line-up.

The Manchester United team, past and present, reads like a who's who of world football.

It is only fitting that a great team should grace a great stadium. And with Old Trafford's recent development and the closure of Wembley, the ground is easily the largest in English football, holding in excess of 60,000 fans.

Despite this capacity, the demand to see United in action is so great that tickets are hard to come by.

But it isn't only Manchester United fans who flock to Old Trafford. The standard of the ground is such that it regularly hosts high-profile games, most notably, the Champions League Final and Great Britain rugby league games.

Rock fans have also made use of the Reds's facilities, watching a number of high-profile acts at the ground.

But it's football that will forever be synonymous with the Reds famous ground - and with good reason.

The last decade has seen Manchester United under the shrewd leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson maintain a virtual stranglehold on the Premiership crown.

Manchester United has won the league no fewer than 17 times in their history - 10 times in the last 11 seasons. They are also Cup Kings too, winning the FA cup 11 times, the league cup twice, as well as winning the European Super Cup, European Cup Winner's Cup, and 3 times being crowned European Cup champions.

Manchester United has long become a name associated with success both on and off the pitch.

As club profits continue to grow, Manchester United have become one of the richest sports clubs on the planet.

With supporters club branches on every continent, it's hard to go any where in the world and not see somebody wearing the famous red shirt of Manchester United.

QUOTE(zenix @ Nov 24 2009, 09:18 PM)
Hope Alien will sticky this info later.
Though written in 2006 so no Roy Keane yet.

Ex-United players that have moved on to become managers.

Written by Simon Stone (MARCH 22, 2006)

STEVE BRUCE (1987-1996): Took his first steps in management with Sheffield United in 1998, then swiftly moved on to Huddersfield, Wigan and Crystal Palace. Left Selhurst Park in acrimonious fashion after Birmingham targeted him as the replacement for Trevor Francis in 1991. Took Blues into the Premier League but after a heavy FA Cup defeat is struggling to keep his job.

MARTIN POWELL (1971-1983): Stylish and well-respected Scotland centre-half whose authoritative nature appeared to make him a natural for the management game. Lasted four months at Burnley.

SIR BOBBY CHARLTON (1956-1973): Arguably the finest English player of all time proved to be an unmitigated disaster as a manager. Claimed he was not given the resources to make a decent job of it at Preston but was never lured back into management following his departure after a single season.

STEVE COPPELL (1975-1983): After a knee injury cut his playing career short at just 28, Coppell turned his attention to management. Steered Crystal Palace into the FA Cup final and then third place in the old First Division - the Eagles' highest ever - the following season. It was the first of four stints in charge at Selhurst Park in a career which has seen him move to Manchester City (for only six games), Brentford and Brighton. Now at Reading and about to steer the Royals into the top flight for the first time.

PADDY CRERAND (1962-1971): A key figure in United's 1968 European Cup triumph, Crerand lasted five months at Northampton before getting the bullet and, like Charlton, never managed again.

MARK HUGHES (1983-86, 1988-95): Hughes was never tipped as a manager by Ferguson but has taken to the game with ease. Took Wales into the Euro 2004 play-offs. Took over at Blackburn shortly afterwards, steering Rovers away from danger in his first season. Currently in contention for a Champions League spot.

BRIAN KIDD (1967-1974): Another European Cup winner who proved to be a poor manager. Got itchy feet in 1998 after spending seven years as Sir Alex Ferguson's highly-rated assistant. Took command at Blackburn but dismissed six months later.

BRYAN ROBSON (1981-94): United's inspirational leader under Ron Atkinson and Ferguson. There are two schools of thought on his stint at Middlesbrough - he either spent lots and achieved little (relegation and two losing finals) or he laid the platform for the Teessiders to become an established Premiership outfit. Kept West Brom up in extraordinary fashion last year but back in trouble again this season.

GORDON STRACHAN (1984-89): Scotland international who won the FA Cup with United and the title of the pre-Premiership era with Leeds. Sacked after five years at when the Sky Blues lost top-flight status, then enjoyed success at Southampton - reaching the 2003 Cup final - before resigning to spend more time with his family. Now at Celtic, has recovered from a humiliating Champions League exit to Artmedia Bratislava, and, after winning his first trophy on Sunday in the CIS Insurance Cup, is set to clinch the Scottish Premier League.

NOBBY STILES (1960-71): Along with Charlton, one of only two Englishmen to have won the World Cup and European Cup, he replaced his former England and United team-mate at Preston, with limited success. After a brief stint in Vancouver, returned to England to take over as manager of West Brom. Sacked after five months, having gained just three wins.

hola everyone. it's time for sheep319's Line-up Prediction™

Now, since we have everyone back on track, I think, we can expect a formation like this. Vidic, Berbatov, and Giggs are back for Chelsea amirite?

VDS
O'Shea - Brown - Vidic - Evra
Valencia - Giggs/Anderson - Carrick - Nani
Berbatov - Rooney

Now, I know it's gonna be a midfield dilemma, therefore, I'm predicting that SAF will take the risk and dump Nani out, put Giggs on the left, and Anderson and Carrick will be conquering the midfield.

Which is a huge risk, IMO because Giggs does not play on the wing anymore. The last time we saw him on the wing, full of slack D:

And that's sheep319's Line-up Prediction™ for the day.

EH ALAMAK.

I forgot he's back.

Anyway, here's a revised version of sheep319's Line-up Prediction.

VDS
O'Shea - Vidic - Brown - Evra
Valencia - Fletcher - Anderson - Nani/Giggs
Berbatov - Rooney

As for subs,

Berbatov replaced by Owen
Giggs/Nani replaced by Obertan

I lol'ed when i heard this from HitzFM

Hitz: Desmond, who do you think will win tonite's game?(MU vs Chelsea)

Desmond: It doesnt matter la, cause Liverpool is going to win the title anyway...

Hitz: Oh hahaha. But you still need to answer between Chelsea or Manchester United.

Desmond: ar... Simply la, Chelsea la.

Hitz: Why you choose Chelsea?

Desmond: Pretty obvious, no Liverpool fans like Manchester United

They're playing a 3 man midfield.

If we still cannot exploit that, then omg.

Because I think they will be playing Joe Cole - Drogba - Anelka up front

Haha, do you guys honestly believe a player earning approx 60k a week would go around in a Korean made car? Asians love riding around in style. Anyways, the battle in midfield tonight would be key. We've got to match them man for man, and the threat of Drogba will be obvious, but I'm putting in Anelka as the man to watch. Slippery fecker.

agreed with both of u, we need to be careful, anelka and drogba both in form at the moment

and as diamond shape thing i prefer we go 4-4-2 when attacking ad optional to 4-5-1. make sure the midfield packed.

diamond meaning they will keep the ball until find the hole in our midfield

Anelka's a big threat too. He's got very good control which is why he used to play wing a lot. Just hope that our defence will do a great job. It's time for irishman evans what he's capable off smile.gif

I thought Park has a Porsche Cayenne, read it somewhere. A Kia will never stand up against his teammates' Bentleys and Range Rovers.

EDIT: just saw the post by afixus.

A win for United tomorrow would catapult them ahead of their London rivals and give them a tremendous psychological edge for the rest of the season.

But that is a feat the Reds have not achieved for the past seven years. United's last victory on Chelsea's manor was pre-Roman Abramovich, back in April 2002.

Very surprised to see Gibson rolling in a GTR. Never seen any footballers with a Jap car, although performance wise, Gibson's car will triumph amongst his mates. I like his taste and Carrick's RS6 as well.

I do believe MU need to score at least 2 if they wanna win tonight. hard to see MU win by 1-0, if they do win. Chelsea are bound to counter back especially in second half. get the 2-0 and morale will be on our side. Tough job though (i'm being realistic) but if this happens, i'll be grinning biggrin.gif

Again, midfield battle is the most crucial. Defendes keep to their normal head-away high ball clearance and keep their focus, preventing lapse of concentration because Drogba and Anelka will sniff these opportunities down to the smallest patches of grass.

Last but not least, let there be spark in the attacking partnership. Good luck guys!

WTH.

I hope Evans really prove himself.

Why is Vidic on the bench!? Why is Giggs on the wing?!?!

OMG WHY NO BERBATOV!!!

I WANT OBERTAN TO DO A CAMEO BEFORE 45 MINUTES

And yay no Nani. (this is the only positive from the line-up *shudder*)

Yeah sure, turn your back on Diouf, Fletcher, Gibson and Nani now. Real classy - rooting for the Henry headalike and Drogba impersonator.

Added on November 8, 2009, 11:28 pmSo we agree that Fletch and Carrick are holding while Anderson is the headless chicken attempting blockbuster passes at will?

The three in midfield is to disrupt that diamond from passing us to death. Hpefully Giggs will get the better of Ivanovic, becoz I have a feeling Cole is gonna shit all over Valencia tonite (prove me wrong mate!) considering how he's matched Ronaldo who's the better player over the years. Why no silky smooth Bulgarian?

Hell, I do not agree with this line-up either. I don't know what's in SAF's mind.

Ergh. I has a bad feeling about this formation.

I don't know either he's trying to counter the formation, doing the same against Chelsea, or weh.

Either way, putting Giggs on the wing against Ashley Cole is an amazing huge NO NO.

Valencia should be the one worrying about Cole, not Giggs.

Besides, judging from CSKA and Liverpool, two in midfield is clearly leaking goals in. We cannot afford to lose the game, we can afford not winning it.

Oh yah.

Looks like it IS a 4-5-1.

:/

Rooney working as lone striker doesn't look like a good idea. But either way, watching ESPN now, and the formation looks logical with Giggs in the middle.

We'll need to take the few chances that'll fall to us in big games like this. Good thing Rooney's stopped the rot with that goal against Blackburn last weekend, and he looked sharp coming on against CSKA. Come on Rooney, make little Wayne proud!

impossible for 2 top teams go finish the game goaless....
btw, i see both Giggs and Rooney already exploited their offisde traps twice. So maybe we can work on there

2 key moments for Utd that I could recall really well now would be the part where Rooney couldve or shouldve passed to Ando and the part when Valencia didnt return a 1-2 w Ando who was already making his run in. Those could be well be goals but oh well, the team has been well for the 1st half IMO.

Oh and did Terry's egg got cracked by Cashley? lul

frankly, the only use i can see from Giggs now is to take free kicks and corners to exploit their set piece weakness. Else, its all Valencia who worked more

halftime break, both manager scolding the players now

Carlo Ancelotti: WTF ASHLEY, OUR TOP DEFENDER U HEAD HIS BOLA KA?????
Alex Ferguson: Open your eyes and pass, I'll pay u 50,000 for assisting a goal.

Never thought that Ivanovic would be the more threatening of the full backs but credit to Valencia for keeping Cole on the backfoot. Having said that, we have had no production from the left flank and Rooney needs to be disciplined. In the first half, Rooney tracked back and won the ball but when he looked up, he had no one to lob it to. doh.gif And yes, this is bearing in mind Rooney is our LONE STRIKER.

I think the purpose of bringing Anderson is when we scores a goal we can immeditately turn to pure 4-5-1.
Anderson has been poor so far in tis supporting role.
Defensive wise looks ok. Brown and Evan producing super header wif each ball head further than before.

I think SAF "allowed" ivanovic to roam that right area, if it were only once I'd say we are sloppy, but more than once and SAF didn't caution Evra, could mean something....Ivanovic is [insert word]. Look at how deep Valencia was positioned, and how front Evra roamed lol.

Second that.. but nonetheless, i am amazed when he run down to stop anelka.. heh..

hope that he can be more calm and look around more in the 2nd half.. there is the situation when he should shoot the ball but he play the ball back for giggs.. and there is the situation when he should passing the ball earlier to ando OR open the ball to Valencia but he decided to strike.. wink.gif

Rooney needs a strike partner. He's looking bloody isolated and clueless on what to do that he often chooses to just run at the defenders on his own. Owen for Giggs after 60-70 mins.

I don't care what anyone says to me now.

I'm just piss-ass pissed off at SAF's decision to put Rooney as a lone striker.

Valencia's useless because we all know how Rooney operates. He's a defensive forward.

Is because berbatov is injured, saf could had not play 4-4-2 formation, even with owen is on the bench, he is not those strikers like berba, where he can hold the ball, i'm actually not complaining anything about this game, Chelsea is just to strong for us at the moment, we could win them last season because of CR7. but now different case, seems like is a handicap for us right now

nahh... not the case...
1.we were in control of midfield.
2.referee made some(a lot actually) bad call against us
3.Terry's goal was actually offside because drogba had a touch of the ball when he is offside
4.it could have ended 0-0

Alex ferguson to put lone striker becos he wouldnt want to take the RISK...... of letting early goal from chelsea.
midfielder today is quite strong, but there is no way to come back

Lesson ? the ball is round. anything is possible. we cannot predict.

Now..... 5 points difference.........

United just hope chelsea to drop points

u guys are happy with this?

to be honest im not. we just waited around to pass the ball. no urgency to find the goal. rooney as a lone striker u must be shitting me. cos he cant stay on one spot. how the hell is the midfield can help you out where u are everywhere?
*
My point EXACTLY

ROONEY, throughout the season, has never been consistently IN FRONT. He's assisting the wing, the midfield, the defence.

He's the most versatile forward ever. He defends for the team. He attacks when needed.

BUT when he's busy at the back, and we go on a counter.

WHO THE HELL DO WE PASS IT TO?

NOBODY. EXACTLY. Giggs could do something, but I doubt he's been asked to go to the middle.

Hell, want to supply it to the heads of the players? NOT A CHANCE.

Argh.

Putting Rooney as lone striker will not work at all.

I'm seriously pissed. WHY did SAF start Rooney alone.

WHY did SAF delayed the substitution. ARGH.

So now we have an answer, we need to buy another striker, period, if berba is injured, we cant do any real damage, but consider the Chelsea squad and our squad, we didn't lose so badly, please don't make this lose a bad thing.

God. But at the same time, it's good that SAF deployed 4-5-1. It shows that he managed to tame the midfield.

This formation is kinda giving me mixed feelings.

SAF should just take the risk of playing both strikers in these big games. And giggs and ando should taken off earlier. By the time obertan and owen were introduced, it was too late

TBH, i think we controlled the game really well for an away game at stamford bridge.

one unlucky free kick, and terry got his head on the ball....BAMMMM. 75 minutes of effort gone.

we started the 2nd half really well and i thought we could go on and win the game. but i guess this is football. you win some, you lose some.

i hope we can really bounce back from this and be in a strong position before boxing day.

the formation from start is WRONG:

1. Rooney as lone striker proven to be an epic fails many times

2. Giggs only good against mid table teams now due to his age

3. Obertan should have on early rather than last 10

One thing I seriously do not understand at all.

Why.

Why.

Why did SAF waited until the 85th minute to do a bloody substitution.

It's like feeding a rabbit's corpse some carrot.

TERRY WINS IT FOR CHELSEA

well about the referee..personally i feel, is the fear in referee..

The referee of any manchester game is always pressuring. U make a wrong decision for Man Utd, you are going to get this for 1 whole week. Conspiracy, Bribery, Referee scared SAF, referee bias.

So its better for them to play safe for fouls commited against Manchester United.

Cmon guys, those yellow are deserved(maybe not for Drogba), Lampard had a handball just outside of the penalty box. The referee scared Lampard didnt hand, so its better for him not to blow.

I always think SAF has a reason to put a lone striker to strengthen the midfield.

If not we might not able to even see a 50-50 performance today.

Chelsea are very strong @ midfield. Let them control the midfield, means we don't have much chance.

Considering the fact we are losing our main defenders. We need to strengthen our midfield and on and off when attacking we try to put someone play deeper to support Rooney.

Yes we lost but I am happy our defenders did quite well and VDS' performance was good.

SAF tactic is about, er, I think, containing Chelsea attacking maestro..hence packing the midfield leaving Rooney all alone up front, which rarely works..

Cant blame him, seeing how Chelsea go on to a goal spree in their last few matches..

Obertan could be a very big player in the future, really quick feet biggrin.gif

I`m still expecting more from Anderson though...why he still cant shoot..

Yes, Brown and Evans partnership actually are very very solid...look like they are the main central defenders..future looks good for our defending unit thumbup.gif

We were great I thought. Playing away from home to a team very in form according to everyone and almost everyone didn't give us a chance at all. But we showed we were classy today. We control things, and we just didn't get the goal and they did. It was an even contest. Based on that performance, they didn't deserve to win and we didn't deserve to lose. But it's based on results, not performance and they got that vital goal so they were the winner tonight. 5 points ahead.. not gonna be easy, but it's only the start of November. A lot will happen between now and May.

obert0n totally catch Ivanovic off guard there. Great performance with the limited time he have to play

Overall, not really disappointed by our team performance but I think we deserve a draw

the referee was terrible..making horrible decisions on both sides..we didnt capitalize on our chances and it hurts to lose in this kind of manner..with all the possesion we had over a supposedly stronger chelsea side..

Evans was solid. Our defence and midfield were absolutely on top of their game. The ref spoiled it for us though, was never a free kick. Still, we proved that it took a very contentious goal to beat us, despite the pundits and neutrals claiming that we would be shitted on by the "amazing" Drogba.

Arghhh, I hate international break.

Everyone played well for me. Somehow our attackers found the space to work with, and they did well with the space they found. Rooney did very well I thought, along with Valencia the 3 combo in midfield(Ando just ahead of Fletcher and Carrick).

The defenders really proved how good they are today. I'm impressed. O'Shea and Evra. All of them performed.

We lost from a set piece error, so I don't really blame defence.

The loss to Liverpool is far more saddening than this. Losing isnt that surprising, i am glad the team plays well as a whole, and show that we are not pushovers when we play against the Big 4. MU Possesion > Chelsea's, proving that no matter where and when, we are attacking and finding chances. good game, and i believe from now on things will get better and gain momentum as always, churning up wins after wins during the Winter period (in UK).

We need someone like ronaldo who would just shoot the ball when there is a chance and not pass around the ball. Thats what make Ronaldo a great player.

We perform better compared to the liverpool game though. Next time, should start with obertan

I enjoyed watching Drogba crumpling onto the ground. Yeah it was a challenge from Evans, but the twitching legs and flopping like a fish out of water was priceless. It was like watching an electrocution and I think the referee was disgusted by the over-reaction, hence the yellow card.

Tbh I'm getting tired seeing post like this after every big game as though we were set on to play negative from the start. Just look at the possession percentage of the game and how we played in the first half especially. We were on top. And having Fletcher-Carrick-Ando we got the balance right, and have proven very successful in the past that combo, in the big games especially. We were very good going forward although we couldn't create lots of goal scoring chances, but in these type of games, that's usually the case for everyone where the game is even. We just didn't get the break and they did unfortunately.

Everyone played well and I thought Evans was great at the back. Without Vida and Rio next to him, although he has Brown who is very good, but still you don't see too many 21 year old putting that kind of performance in the centre of defence against the likes of Drogba and Anelka. Rooney was good too.

to be fair. Ronaldo was shit at times because he was being *guarded* by few players.... but that indirectly gave the other players some space to move around....

But Ronaldo's gone.. Why do we still bring up Ronaldo?

Have faith .... We deserved a draw but this is football, right?

dont look at me..ask them..i'm at a point that i couldnt careless bout ronaldo..he's gone and i moved on..

*
They are different type of players but probably he can be as good as CR7 and Obertan is more towards a "team player" than CR7 was.

Valencia is good but he lost out in term of physical to Chelsea players.. well, he should ask Fletcher how to do more "gym work" .....

He needs to build up his physical a little bit and I am sure the lad is going to be good.

QUOTE(Wan @ Nov 9 2009, 02:24 AM)

*
So which part of my post the you are tired of seeing? Referring back to that post, I did say that I think SAF trying to contain Chelsea after their goal spree in last few games.

yes you may argue we are against chelsea and its harder to score. but united need to attack. i been seeing an attacking united for years. i felt we had no urgency to attack and just waited 90mins to be over. rooney alone cant work =_="

We're missing a scoring midfielder. Most teams see there are no real threat from the middle of the park. Giggs and Valencia are from the flanks, Rooney and Berbatov from the top. Carrick can't even put a shot on target anymore, and Anderson is fast becoming like him. The central midfield now seems exist to pass the ball to the flanks for crosses in.

I miss Cantona.

But i do agree with whoopa, i think what you meant is the spirit and the "feel", once they start rolling, there's no stopping them. The team still does attack, but not with the spirit and feel when Ronaldo is around. Rooney used to be able to give that aura during the earlier season, now seems like he lost it as well...

Same here. Quite surprised how we started the game and keep that level of performance throughout the game(well, until we turn to 442, which we went a bit shit). The players were passing the ball calmly even though there was players everywhere. Our 3 CMs against their 4cms.. and we were on top of things(okay, maybe we matched them and just edge them a bit). Feel kinda proud actually after seeing everyone even among us didn't give us a chance in the game. It doesn't feel good of course losing another big game, and especially something like that, but I think everyone should take heart from the performance we put out. This give me a bit more confidence in that 433 formation(Fletch-Carrick-Ando combo, and Roon alone upfront supported by Valencia and another one) for the big games and Europe where we will definitely use it.

This thread suddenly feels like a dump waste for ignorance and idiotic comments from newfags. Every time the team crashed, they asking for people head, who to blame, what formation that should be used and those shitty crap. Why don't just accept the defeat, you don't need to make yourself sounds stupid by suggesting who to blame. I really start to wonder how are we going to make this thread ignorance free. Some comment here are made like they just started watching Man Utd from 1 season ago. You don't know player history, you don't know their playing style and you know nuts about them and yet you made those idiotic comment, absolute pathetic. And you don't even bother to dig the information why some player are missing out and start blaming manager for not starting him. No offense to the peeps that always hang around here, just hitting out at those ignorance comment. One thing, I don't know why these people always say how godlike we are with CR and Tevez, that is just ballocks. Players come and players go, just stop worshiping those e ex-players, time to move on.

I wasn't upset with the result although I believe that we deserve something outta the match. Nobody was to blame for the result. Leave ref, saf and players outta the blaming game, they did nothing wrong. Again, this is a marathon, ain't sprint. We got 2 big match coming in short period and we need time to recover. Remember that the team that we lost to, they still need to visit OT and we can take the revenge later. For now, just keep the ignorance and bullshi* comment aside.

We were crap against the big four last season and we still came away with no. 18 biggrin.gif. I'm not really disheartened tbh, but gutted that the ref spoiled it for us. We were excellent today and it didn't seem as though Chelsea were the home team. Special mention to Brown and Evans, won everything in the air for us except that goal. We've got a much easier run of games now and we've already played all the big teams plus Citeh and Spurs in the first round of the season so this where we must kick on and earn them points.

Rio should be worried. I honestly think its time we allowed Evans into the picture and have Rio fight for that spot.

I think we have done real good today. We were missing berbatov, obviously. Carrick showing he still plays an important role in our team, fletcher roaming all over the pitch..Nothing much from anderson tho..

I'm excited with obertan, and i hope to see him and owen getting more games smile.gif

Our defenders were great, Evans+Brown were awesome.

MU not gonna to win anything this season if ferguson still thinks that rooney is good, rooney just can't bring MU anywhere
i believe the team will play better without rooney  rolleyes.gif

11 starts, 7 goals in the league. And if you think his performance tonight wasn't good, I suggest you watch the game another hundred times and make note of the game. But even after that I feel you still wouldn't get it.. icon_rolleyes.gif

i believe after today, other teams is aware of the weakness in the diamond formation. And that will give Chelsea more pressure even against small teams.
*
we'll see their performance on january

anyway, berba was wrong we he said our main competitor is only chelsea.. ffs arsenal is above us with a game in hand

and for the evans kick, drogba is the one who RUSHED to evans when he is ALREADY in the air to head the ball

Don't you think Arsenal is more of a threat this season? At least that's what I can see for now.

they might just do a liverpool last season..there must be a team to disrupt the top 3 position..and this year is arsenal..heck, if we or chelsea are careless, they might just pip both team to the title..

I got 2 personal favorite moment in the match. One is the John Terry shouting "oh my ballz" moment, that is hilarious to me. Another one must be the Evans signature footprint on Drogba chest. He was lying down there just like a kid and on top of that, he got booked laugh.gif

Vidic sinister smile ftw!! He must be saying: I could do better than that, just wait laugh.gif

anderson was pretty good, but he needs to learn how to make off the ball movements effectively.. he got pace, strength (up against essien) and eye for a pass.. we got a future star in our hand.. 2 if u count obertan.. 3 if u count macheda.. no, it should be 4,5,6................ cool2.gif

We have proven goalscorers at the top, and we have the men supplying them from the sides. What we're lacking now is someone to pull the strings from the middle of the park when the opposition stifle the flanks. You can't honestly tell me Carrick and Anderson are as good as Cantona in orchestrating attacks, and Scholes is getting older and slower.
