I personally prefer Orchid Ria, actually food is tastier and cheaper than Teo Seafood. Wonderland ( Ah Toon ) is value for money kind of place. Very popular among locals as he is a local Hainanese. Seafood is fresh but not as tasty as Orchid but he's very much cheaper. His location is nicer too just beside the sea (actually a canal but linked to the sea).

Actually I find Wonderland very expensive. The last time I was there end of last year, Wonderland seemds to be closed for the nearly one week I was there. I banned Wonderland after just one meal coz the same meal and tasting much better, I got it for about 50% of Wonderland's price at Kauboi, which is next door.

My mum wanted to try Wonderland after all the hype about it. The Tomyum soup is omg...taste like tomato soup! Trust me, Kauboi is much better. I always go there (like 3-4 times a year coz I just love that place), in fact nearly every night when I am at LGK.

I even pre-order some of the pricier seafood from KL before I go and the prices are so reasonable. The brother of the owner is a fisherman and he gets fresh seafood supply nearly every morning. On average, a meal for 4 adults with a 1kg large prawn tomyum soup, a large fish, or chien, 3 to 4 roe crabs, one vege dish, mango kerabu, sotong or lala dish and mantis prawn costs about RM120 to RM150 depending on the seasonal price of the crabs. Got rice and herbal drink also. All these used to be less than RM100 a couple of years ago but now what also increased jor.

Fresh lobster at Kauboi was RM120 for about 1kg (must pre-order) whereas this Wonderland's frozen lobster was RM150/kg! Then they didn't know how to cook lobster or was trying to cook it in a way to cover its non-freshness!

Can't wait for my coming trip! drool.gif

Everything's changed now..................sigh.
I never liked Wonderland's food but it was cheap and one thing malays eat there too as the whole cluster of eateries and the next one are all pork free as required by MDL. Kauboi's partner Ah Toong is the nephew of one of the biggest seafood supplier in Langkawi, probably that's why he is cheaper. Since Wonderland is also expensive now, they must have adopted the two tiered pricing, tourist and locals.

You can try your luck but I doubt so, LOL
1230hrs - Check in Holiday Villa Resort (any know how long to drive there from jettty?) It is quite far from jetty to Holiday Villa which is Pantai Tengah.
1330hrs - Lunch (pls reco)
You should have your lunch in town before going to the beach to check in. More variety! There's a nice malay food there called Sinaran Restaurant. Look for Bank Islam and the shop is in front of it. Or Water Garden, this is a coffee shop. If you prefer Thai food there is WanThai in Pesiaran Bunga Raya which is near Kamdar and Idaman Suri(famous for cookware shopping)

1430hrs - underwater world + stock up for beers, liqour, choc & cigi from duty free shop there
Might as well do the ciggy and liquor shopping in town. Wawasan is around town.

1715hrs - Back to hotel lazy/bath and walk walk around beach/pool
1900Hrs - Dinner at kuah town @ Orchid Restuarant (budget Rm60 per couple enough?) More than enough!

2100Hrs - Back to hotel to rest early
Day 2
0800Hrs - Breakfast at hotel, Inclusive
0845hrs - back to room & get ready
0930hrs - Island Hopping (not sure how long it takes estimate finish at 3hours)

The beach at Holiday Villa is OK too.
1800hrs - Back hotel freshen up
1845hrs - Dinner at kuah town @ tomato restaurant (budget Rm60 per couple enough?)
2000hrs - ????? pls advise ??? good bar??
Black and Henry Pub in Sheraton Beach

Day 3
0800hrs - breakfast at hotel, inclusive
0845hrs - packing & getting ready
0930hrs - hang around the hotel to enjoy b4 c.out

1830hrs - Dinner (no idea teo restaurant good? reasonable price? or back to either 1 of the above restaurant?)
can try the other restaurants like kauboi as one forummer said or go back to Orchid and try other dishes or Wan Thai for Thai food.

You didn't fit in Eagle feeding/mangrove tour in your itinery.

2000hrs - Back to Awana for Eagle Rock Cafe party all night long till 3am!!!
Day 4
1000hrs - skip breakfast and packing
1100hrs - Check out
1115hrs - last shopping at kuah town

U are going on a weekday... u shld be able to get a wira at least for RM50/day (not too sure about car rentals from jetty but fr airport you can get decent rentals, been there a few times, the last round out I got a 6 mth old Sentra for RM65/day for 4 days) or was it RM70...its about there.

Shopping for choccy, ciggy and beer.. anywhre bout the same price. In town more shops and choices.. normally elsewhere you get all the Lgk chain shops all over the island. But when buy choccy just watch the expiry date.. price correlate directly with the date. The shops at underwater world are all part of chains which one can also find in town.. if not mistaken one is Chocco World and the other is The Zon. But opposite underwater world there is a Nike/Adidas shop which sells out display items at pretty high discounted price... not too bad got meself a few Tees for 35%-50% off the last time.

Lowyatians have actually forgotten all about our early favourite.. Rootian in town... food is decent but I find it a bit pricy for that kind of environment. Surf and Turf in Cenang has a very nice setting... love the ambience and setting.

Night life... nothing much la.. but the reggae bar at Pantai Cenang is quite happening.. loads of gwailous there. Maybe coz I never check out the nightlife.. just prefer my Glenmorangie and a bucket of ice on a deckchair overlooking the sea/bay...

Anytime is a good time... as long as its off peak, all things are reasonable, you dont have to fight or rush and most importantly you have a deep pocket to do all things nice...

Just make sure its not rainy season otherwise its a bit of a dampener... smile.gif.

yes, maybe can upgrade better car if not peak period.

Lunch at town before c/in (is Water Garden western food? how to get there?)
Drive along the road, pass a mosque on the left and pass a bridge. Lookout tothe right for fire station. Just after fire station turn right. You can see Bayview Hotel from here.  CIMB BAnk, Malayan Banking and RHB Bank is on this road. After RHB Bank and Camel turn right. Wawasan and Haji Ismail Group is on the right and near the junction you can see Water Garden. Sinaran Restaurant and Bank Islam is on the left.

Shopping for liquor + Ciggy + beer + choco (i thought someone say duty free shop at / near underwarter world is the best?)
I don't know about now but during my stay, I find Wawasan's prices is the lowest.

night life - Black & Henry pub @ sheraton beach (any idea it open till?)
They close at a certain time but you can call drinks just before they close and sit on the varendah outside by the pool.

3rd day dinner @ kauboi (also at kuah town right?)
Can try it out as one forummer suggested.

2nd, 3rd & 4th day lunch dunno wan to go where eat le ~
Your tummy will know when you are there. LOL

Diner for 2 person expected to have lobster + mantis prawn + 1 vege + 1 fish/chicken = Rm60 (more than enough sure?)
I never tried lobster before (allergic) but the money you saved fromearlier meals can cover back.
