This might be old news but I just got around to upgrade my old Xbox Hard disk to 80GB today and notice that the power unit has a lot of leaking capacitors. The Xbox still runs fine but there a little feeling inside me that it just waiting for time to kick the bucket..... sad.gif

Anyone here encounter this issue before ? Any advise ? ATX-PSU mod perhaps  brows.gif

You should ask how I took the picture laugh.gif

The red part is very satisfied, but the greyish white part is too thick and imbalance on the side. The M word is even worse, never thought the paint will be so thick. If only I had more patient it would be better sad.gif

Ahh, nice to be back from vacasyun....

Fired up some retro game consoles, but got a major surprise....

For Dreamcast, why does sometimes it will randomly reset itself? Too hot? Mine is unmodded Drramcast bought from ebay. The console is played at most 1-2 times in a year....

For Saturn, first time I fired it up, the drive did not function! But after 10 minutes, and several resets and powering on/off, the familiar Saturn intro flying screen came on and it can finally read discs. This one I last played back in 2008! It's a modded Saturn (can play games from Uncle Jack Sparrow....)

So, any ideas on what may cause the problems for my consoles? Lack of play?

The dreamcast random reset is caused by the power connector and PCB board losing contact (maybe after expanding when it is hot). it just a quick fix, open up the dreamcast and your should see a 6 pin thingy from the power supply connected to the Dreamcast. Just take out the PCB board, wipe it clean (the pins) and just bend the pin slightly and it should work.

Check the below website for pictures. I fix mine by pending the pins a bit, the website below teaches you to push the metal pins.
