it was a second hand one. not sure the age though.

bringing back from US is a good choice if you can find ppl to carry for you.. with the current exchange rate its a great bargain.

Yeah, I know a guy who is going there I think next week. Just that when come back, I have to go to find a power adapter that fits the US Cable.

Anywhere I can find it Gundam / NT?

Yeah, just get from hardware shops, and yes, they are freaking bulky laugh.gif

I use those designed for console games, so it's less bulky but. Don't get anything below the PS2's power rating though, but PS2 Slim's rating is quite low, not sure if it's lower than those for sale in PA (I got 3 of those too for AC adapters).

QUOTE(alex13 @ Nov 9 2010, 09:51 AM)
Hi all,

I got one big issue here.

Recently I just purchased a couple of PS2 games. After I put the disk into the tray and try it out abit, the disks gets scratched! It's not bad scratch, just like the condition is sort of from 95% to 85%.

After that, I don't dare to try again.

Please advice whether I should repair my phat PS2, or I should get a new one?

Here are the issues I found on the phat PS2:
1) When switch on, the start-up sound "disappeared" for like 1 - 2 seconds.
2) The memory card slot 1 is very loose and can barely recognized my original memory card.
3) Both the controller slots fail to recognized my 3rd Party controller (maybe its the controller issue).
4) When the tray comes out, there is a sound come out at the more inside part of the tray, the sound is like the tray and the gap is scratching each other or the gap is too tight for the tray to comes out.
5) Of course, the disk scratch issue
6) I got a suspect that the lens and chip got some issue too. When read one of the old disk I have, the sound is scary, like "tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk".

Please advice.

1. To get or not get: Gamecube Game Boy player (please jump to 2 if yes)

2. Standalone player or get a bundle with Gamecube?

Easy answer :

1. Already have or haven't got yet : Gamecube console (to reveal answer jump to 2 if yes)

2. Just buy the standalone player (add-on is cheaper) icon_rolleyes.gif

Have a Cube, but don't have GB Player.. can't find any good deal now unless using proxy to buy from Yahoo Japan again sad.gif

Going to finish my second Saturn game for the year tonight, on my last stage of Terra Phantastica biggrin.gif

Feel like playing some really traditional RPGs after this, those you can lie down on bed and just press a fess buttons for the entire game, can't decide on which.

I think the price should be around $30. Except the Panasonic Q GB player, maybe can fetch higher price.

Is your Gamecube US/ JPN ? if u buy the JPN GB Player it will come with a JPN gamecube software disc. So if yours is US, better get the US GB player.

Sadly, mine is PAL sad.gif

Saw a few reasonably priced LE GC on Yahoo Japan, but I'd prefer US set so that I wouldn't need to swap disc to play US Cube games anymore, but the shipping is killing.
