damn, just came back from lowyat looking for Class 10 microsd card...not even a shop is selling Class 10 microsd card , otherwise I'll be experimenting the apps2sd thingy...

yup I just using a matte screen protector + hard rubberize case (paid RM9 only at ebay & free shipping)



yeah I know the Class 10 is expensive but the speed is good for apps2sd...

I'm using the hard rubber with small holes on left and right and very easy to take it off to change the battery...

yup market also works fine with me here...btw I'm using wifi...no data plan...

matte screen protector is also known as anti finger print screen protector, you get less finger prints but the IQ will degrade a bit (coz it has a bit of texture on it) compare with the normal clear screen protector..I changed to matte after getting sick of finger prints on the clear screen protector...just go to any phone shops and ask for matte one, I bought mine for RM8 including installation...

The first thing that I always do when buying a new phone is to apply a screen protector to avoid such incident...sometimes when you try to fix a small hairline of scratch, it can make more worse by using polish...so my suggestion is, just apply a screen protector rather than wait until you get more...

1. Press the Left/Menu button and choose Settings.

2. Go to Applications -> Manage applications.

3. Scroll down and choose dxTop.

4. Tap on the button Clear defaults.

The next time you press the Home button it'll ask you which Launcher you want to use. The easiest way to switch between Launchers is to use an application called Home Swicther. With it you can set which launcher to be your default and launch the other too. This is handy because some launchers have a certain feature registered to the Home button.

Added on October 22, 2010, 7:25 pm app2sd is successfully installed on x10 1.6 donut....I've reinstalled a lot of apps and my internal phone memory is still at 417MB.... and the phone is much responsive and bit faster now...

I bought it from a forumer here, Kingmax 8GB microSD Class 10 for RM105...yup double the price if compared to Class 4 card but really worth it...

Quite easy, the best way is to wipe out clean your phone (make sure to backup any important datas), make it like a brand new then root it and follow the procedures (the link from xda-developer forum I posted before).

app2sd is for 2.2 actually, the guy from xda developer forum managed to backported it to run on 1.6...

My latest findings...

I used the Manage applications option where I filtered only 3rd party apps and calculated the total size of installed applications. I got around 150MB total and now my internal memory is 392MB. If I do the calculation, from 443MB (fresh formatted) - 150MB, I should get 293MB for the internal memory. This means that some applications are installed into the sd card and some into the internal memory, so only 51MB was install into the internal memory and 149MB goes to the sd card which is not bad at all.

I mean inside the phone, I was using SE Update Service method to get a factory reset...If you going to use back the original sdcard then do the backup of your messages/datas, as for applications you don't need to because you going to reinstall them back later. Later when I'm free maybe I'll do a how to write up.

hahahaha...true, I also blur2 when read the instructions as the OP is a german guy which his English is really bad but managed to get it done after I read the whole thread...

don't worry their 2.1 has just been approved by the telcos....rumors saying that 25/10 Uk region wiil be the first one to get the update...

my France x10i is using a generic rom, that means I can update straight away when 2.1 is release (this according to xda-dev forum)...

I thought no one is interested... Okay I'll try to write the how to....be patient yea...

On a second thought if the updates come out, I'll wait for a while to make sure, the new firmware can be rooted and app2sd can be installed.

At the moment, I'm really happy with the phone..all my apps are installed into the micro SD card...

If you read a pages back, I've posted a link on how to do that...here are some screenshots of the apps installed into my sdcard..

Finally after upgrading to Papago X5.1 it works flawlessly....

It's totally up to you, I've read an official announcement from SE that tne 2.1 update will not have multitouch support. The link I posted already confirmed on this issue.

Yes, with 2.1 to can install Launcher Pro.
