but, issit also depending on the hardware either to support the latest android version? as i told by a handphone seller, the samsung only provided android version 2.3.6 only. how can i update to the latest or at least 4.0? need a custom ROM? sorry for noob question

Yes, if they have sufficient RAM and storage. For instance, I've a Galaxy Ace that runs on Jellybean.

That's the last official update for the Gingerbread OS.

Yes, you will need a custom ROM. But you'll have to first root your phone to unlock it before installing it.

Hey guys. Wanna ask about the kies.i have some file in my computer which contain some Chinese/korean character. I can't seem to transfer it to my newly bought note 2. Anyone can help me with it?

kies is a very lausy software.
just use MTP to connect via USB
or use airdroid app faster.
