im using a HDMI cable now on my LCd tv, feels like not good as my previous plasma..
it is better to get a VGA cable compared to HDMI ?
how to fine tune the setting under xbox360 "Display" for lcd tv ?

Btw, is it just me that feels like the game "Assassin creed" is over-white, like flashing by spotlight all the time ? tongue.gif

if you want a superb quality for your xbox360. You can try using Monster Gamelink Xbox360 HDMI. I am using it I can say it worth it. If you are interested you can look for Digitaltech.

All THESE "high end best quality" overpriced hdmi cables are a con . No such thing as "moreexpensive highend HDMI cable" can get better picture quality .

tongue.gif Just buy the cheapest HDMI cable you can find .

The editors at CNET are so confident that cheap HDMI cables offer identical performance, we've been using inexpensive Monoprice HDMI cables in the CNET Home Theater Lab for more than a year with no issues. That's saying a lot, especially when you consider that our video experts are constantly swapping in new products and changing configurations, which means our cables take much more abuse than they would in a normal home theater. We're also accustomed to making long cable runs, and many of our cables from Monoprice are 15 feet long. We also use even longer 20-foot cables from a generic maker with no appreciable loss in video quality. If cheap HDMI cables are good enough for the eagle-eyed video professionals at CNET, we're betting they're good enough for your home theater.

I myself dont believe in high end cables in the first place and because truely its overprice but then after I take my risk in trying the Xbox360 monster cable I can say that. Price = Quality and Performance.

hi guys another thing ....

actually im using the Sharp 42A66m model... does anyone using this lcd tv for xbox here ? im not sure wheter is the model's setting or the model itself.
i found out that this lcd tv actually makes me nausea because of the contrast problem, the dark enviroment is too dark and the bright enviroment bright like a flash light.
i did try to adjust the setting but not as perfect as my old LG plasma....

hmm...based on my experience on xbox360..certain games doesn't show much different either u use vga or hdmi with maximum video output setting...such like assassin creed and batman AA..even u use vga, it so darm good graphic performance and show no different v hdmi..except u have "high defination" eye....at least my normal eye see no much different.

but for some game, hdmi provide greater graphic..like recently one forza montosport 3..if u use vga..it look more blur.but if use hdmi..it look sharp and more real..

so..use hdmi if u have one..but wont show much much different..=D..i use vga cable on xbox 360 coz my one and only hdmi port on lcd is "reserved" to ps3.. about expensive hdmi cable vs cheap hdmi cable, interest to noe more about tat..haha..

Yea agree with you. I have some games truely even with hdmi still not really that good but I think most of the new games now are High Definition saw lots of improvement after using monster gamelink cable for me. I actually have 3 HDMI cable now. 1st is a bundle of Clamuel Media Player when I set my xbox360 to 1080P the screen actually blink in 2 - 3 sec. 2nd is a bundle from Pioneer DVD-player DV410V it can run under 1080P but not really impressive I would say. 3rd 1 from Digitaltech Monster Gamelink HDMI for Xbox360 that cost RM250!! (Waaaao) and the quality and performance greantly increase =) That is what I have experience before.

Pasar road selling RM15 per cable. I'm using one. THe only dissatisfaction is that the picture will only show after the xbox logo merged with the green strip and not from very beginning.

If your TV is not above 32", then you see NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL on HDMI and whatsoever cable?

i am using a hdmi cable from my xbox to the tv and honestly i think the only benefit of using the hdmi cable is that the video and sound are on the same cable rather than having to plug a seperate sound cable... So i can't really vouch for the hdmi being better quality wise compared to the vga cable but i can definitely say that its more convenient...

Dolby HD WMApro suppliment the sound direction & clarity, but not doing any other wonders.

A good and beefy sound system is required for a good experience.

BOSE is good...but depends on the model too. HAHAHAHAHA

Hi, i am Hermes from Giraffe. We have tested some "cheap in price" HDMI cables with the HDMI test equipment, the results show that it is not running at full fuctions (9 functions) or full pins (19pins). because of this, it can sell at very cheap price.

For Giraffe HDMI cable, it is 1440p ready, which is already used in video wall projects (1440p display projection) in Malaysia & Shanghai.

i am very sure Giraffe is not overprice but affordable, what do you all think? you are welcome to let me know your opinion, and i can send you the video of HDMI testing procedure. thanks!

xbox360 only can support to the maximum of 1080p what... so does the rest of the AV equipment nowadays, if a cheap cable can do 1080p already, why buy an expensive 1440p cable if your device can even support it? tongue.gif

wait until 1440p become a new standard only then we might consider your 1440p cable tongue.gif

Agree nod.gif

If there's a reason for me to get a pricier HDMI cable it would for its built quality instead of its display quality (since all the same)

I've tried to disable the HDMI recovery feature on xbox and it does not work.

It never happened until recently I attached an additional Digital connector on the xbox360.

i got the same problem like yours, my console restarted even when i switch channel

this if nothing to do with the HDMI recovery feature, but the main culprit is the digital connector, since you are using that, I assume you are using optical out to your AV receiver, right? me also

to solve this restart issue is very simple, just switch off your AV receiver when switch on/switch channel on your TV, problem solved!! rclxms.gif

this is actually caused by the audio sync on the digital connector doh.gif
