yea..first shot looked a lil bit too desaturated for me..
composition wise..im on moo's side.....it doesnt really make it interesting...or attact the viewer's(my) attention..any specific reason u choose to let those leaves infront of the flower to block it instead of finding another angle?

i normally prefer to "plan" my shots...unless its really once-in-a-life-time moment which i had no time to think at all..
in ur situation..since most of the flower should be the same looking..y dont pick some that r not blocked? =)
i dont really shoot flower often..but if i had time/space to compose..i'd probably choose an diff angle..probably somewhere normally people dont look at the flower from that angle/direction..might get some surprises from there

QUOTE(lightning69 @ Nov 16 2009, 12:10 PM) Yeah...I think that the beercan shot are all not that sharp. I still cannot decide whether I should buy a Beercan becauase I already have the SAL18250. The other lens I really wanted now is the Tamron SP AF90 DiMacro. Beercan Vs Tamron SP AF90 DiMacro? Which one should I go for? imo beercan is quite sharp 18250 vs beercan...its like apple vs orange...1 for range..1 for the constant aperture..depend on which one attracts u more...same things goes to beercan vs sp90...totally diff.. i would suggest slowly change to 16105/1680/1750 + beercan + sp90 ..but if u intent to change to FF..den u might wanna plan again since 16105/1680/1750 r not FF lenses... but using sp90 or other macro lens for portrait..perhaps u need to stand further...else it'd capture wadever details on ur face...i had 1 selfportrait taken with sp90...it even include all the tiny hair on my face =.= end of scrap that shot..coz too hard to edit..lol

QUOTE(ieR @ Nov 17 2009, 12:33 AM) achew: wow, if you say so, that mean sp90 is hell of sharp lens? yes it is...lol...thats y i rarely use it for portrait...1st thing it focuses too slow..i usually use manual focus...2nd thing its razor sharp when u r close to subject..
