All Alpha users, feel free to email your suggestions and constructive comments regarding Alpha cameras to this below email,

yoshioka-runs@jp.sony.com

He is Yoshioka Hiroshi, the President of Sony Consumer Products & Devices Group (World Wide)

Check out his blog at http://www.infogate.sony.co.jp/y_runs_en/index
(not sure if you guys can access it)

for A900/A850 users.. please request for Firmware upgrade for noise improvement... let him realised the demand for it (almost a year now),.. and also to kill of Memory Stick from the high end range cameras... coz its slow and expensive... dual CF more beneficial...

please voice out.. this is your chance, Sony opened up this channel, make use of it guys... I'm sure he will reply if your comments are in constructive manner...

oh ya noone here got the 5MDH and 6MDH?? sadnya I cannot ask for suggestions

i hv 5mil dol home biggrin.gif

i would say 16105 for the slightly better range..or 1680 for the slightly better aperture limitation....depend on which one weights more to u

ahchew, thanks for the suggestion thus for me i prefer range, cos A550 can compensate in lowlight....so the aperture not really important....

so erm 5mdh serve u well?? can keep body+ medium lens(1750 or 16-105) and flash and a small spritzer waterbottle inside??
*
aperture might not really mean shutter...for me..aperture means DoF...hehehe..as u might know..im kinda addicted to bokeh =p i'd find my way to get around with the shutter by increasing iso while maintaining the DoF....but when ur F is high..there is nothing u can do to narrow ur DoF without affecting ur original composition tongue.gif

for 5mdh...if u wanna bring 1body(with lens attatched)+1 flash + 1 small bottle of water..i think its possible...i used to fill it with 1 body(with sp90) + 1680 + 50 1.4 + F58 . but it would be really packed,if only 1 body(with lens) + 1 lens + flash..i guess its pretty comfortable

achew: Dunno if you noticed, but I've made the circles have spherical illumination like how the STF does.

Will attempt to refine this on other pictures!

Your "after" shot still has bright edges on the circles (looks like just a Gaussian Blur.)
*
i did it on purpose didnt want to make it to STF like which is very diff from my orig shot..

well..since u say that..here's my STF-like-bokeh tongue.gif

QUOTE(albnok @ Nov 19 2009, 10:08 AM)
v1rtual: I would rather get a F58 + F42 for studio use. The quick swivel is of not much use on a light stand. The strobe function doesn't work wirelessly. The F42 is also smaller and lighter, so it makes a good backup for shooting events.

However, if I wanted 3, I would get a F58 + F58 + F42. The A700/A850/A900 can use one F58 on camera to control three groups:

CTRL (on-camera)
RMT (off-camera group 1)
RMT2 (off-camera group 2)

The F42 has no custom function to select whether it is in RMT or RMT2 so it is always in RMT.

The F58 has the option so it can be in RMT or RMT2.

Obviously, in order to have 2 off-camera groups, one of them needs to be in RMT2, and it can only be a F58.

So:

A700/A850/A900 + F58 in CTRL+ mode, power set by the CTRL ratio
F42 in WL mode, power set by the RMT ratio
F58 in WL mode in RMT2 group, power set by the RMT2 ratio
bro if i use the setting u mention...the lowest power i could set on the CTRL flash is it 1/36 24mm too?

actually whats the diff btwn using F58(CTRL) + F58(RMT2) + F42(RMT) vs using those cheap radio controller with 2 flashes(assume i dont wan any light/spill from the front)??we stil can manually control the power even we use the controller right??
