just use your old skool armor and up ur hr till hr 4 or 5
then start hunting ceanataur armor 
one more thing did u upgrade your armor yet?

maybe u should join the gathering or you ask them to meet u up to help u settle the quest together.
Have u try hit and run ? wait for opportunity to strike. have u try using pitfall and shock trap or using flash bomb againts him?
run to other map if u saw him in rage mode if u cannot handle him in rage mode(let him cool down 1st)

armor stone is used for upgrading your  armor

If u like funny story, here the funny story:
whenever i fight plesioth i got this habit of charge stab and shoot few time at that fella stomach.
After almost 20 mins i fought this fella and try to capture it but did not sucess.
By the time, that ******* prepare to jump into the sea. i charge stab then shoot one time only.
then pop out "quest completed" plus the fella corpse is the in sea out of my map range 
cannot carve the body 

this is the worst case scenario ever happen to me

Haha..depends on the armor type actually. i think normal armor per piece u can full upgrade it to say 45-50 def (low rank armor), high rank armor u may upgrade max to 60-80 def and the best is grank armor max upgrade will grant you 110-116 def per piece

advise for total def on diffrent rank:

Low rank= 150-250 Defence
High Rank= 250-350
G rank= 450-580 even you can reach 620 Def 

Oh ya, if you reach the last upgrade of mining point. Use large barrel bomb+ ( large barrel bomb+ scatterfish) instead of large barrel bomb. You will get a better reward.

Normally i just farm Rathalos / Rathian armor in low rank. when i reach high rank , I use Los Soul U all the way. Reach G-rank.farm for Los soul Z then Rathalos Z and end game armor= True Golden Rajang

i tink u can find a cheap 2nd hand one, maybe psp 2000 2nd hand around RM350 can get?

If pitfall doesn't work u might use shock trap. bring the trap tool + genprey fang to make 2 more extra shock trap.
U need to break the claw, any weapon would do. Not sure about range weapon can break the claw?
Can anyone confirm with me whether the range weapon can break the claw?

Wat weapon are you using btw?

forget to add this, the right time to capture. ceanataur will make a weird noise something like bubbling sound at the end.
So prepare your trap and capture it

Just observe the color of the quest on top of your head after you accept a quest....if the color is:

White= can capture the boss/or choose the rambo way, kill it!!!

Red= cant capture, one man standing wit the boss!!you die or boss die..wahahaa

Green= Wat are you doing on a gathering quest?
