I got a friend wanna give me a Fox Talas.It's got some scratch inside the tube.For servicing,the part cost RM 1k.Like that I can get a new fork instead.Haish..sayang..Fox Talas..

its like exotic cars. u ask if they know ferrari they think bling edi, but they might not know pagani, gumpert, bugatti. that doesnt make the pagani/gumpert/bugatti any less bling, only not bling for the ignorant only

i didnt do mountain biking to attract chicks. besides, all the sun burn is quite a big put off for them.

it was an analogy. besides, "Best bike" in category is high subjective. some bike companies dont have alot of money to sponsor riders to championships, that doesnt mean they dont make "the best bikes". when it comes to top level competition, what's more important is the setup of the bike. GT is known to have relatively heavy i drive suspension systems, but that didnt stop brian lopes from winning. also, most important to winning competitions is the rider, not the frame.

another thing is, driver 8 isnt the best in its category. its just a freeride bike. if u wanted best in DH category then that would be the v10.
another thing. i would think that by having a Bugatti i wouldnt have any problems attracting chicks.

bell is an essential item for me...
to ting the hiker or jogger infront of me....
to ting the farm motobike that coming from front or back....
to ting the slow rider infront
to ting the rider behind and see are they following closely.....
to ting continuously when i need to catch rider alert or help.....
and last to ting for fun....

xc frames are meant to be light. has less gussets and reinforcement welds between head tube and top&down tubes. frames designed for longer travel (not xc frames) have more gussets and welds around the head tube area.

if u look hard enough on the internet, there have been alot of cases of cracked head tubes due to ppl playing around with the fork travel. i know of a few ppl who have had hairline fractures happen to their frames too.

and almost all frame manufacturers state the max travel fork their frame is designed for, if a longer travel fork is used then the frame warranty would be void.

not every1 can afford to replace their frames easily, so my advice to mousepad87 is to not change it. ultimately, the decision is up to him, and whatever consequences are his.

anyways, if the torque is acting in a forward (outward direction), and the down tube is flexy enough to allow head tube movement without cracking itself(which is generally possible, since the down tube is usually butted, thus more flexy), the the bottom of the top tube will undergo tensile (pulling apart) stress, leading to the crack on the stinky. that means the head tube in itself is strong enough, but the stress concentration at other parts in the surrounding area lead to failure.

i wouldnt want to mislead some1 and tell them to go for whatever travel they want, and then something happens to the frame. that would just be irresponsible.

i bet you dont sell alot of that model of diesel engine right? hehe. diesel engine for industry is it? interesting.

in the design process, usually safety factor is used, or fatigue life.

higher safety factor=more material=more strength. but then that just defeats the purpose of a lightweight xc frame. if u want high safety factor with low weight, use a titanium frame.

and if by buying the fork and cracking the frame is what u meant by the words "doing own research" is , imho its quite an expensive research. and potentially dangerous.

and again, the decision is up to him. i think i've said enough about this particular issue, and any further argument would be pointless.
