Alright,

Specifications :

CM Elite 335
CM Real Power Pro 550W
XFX 9800 GT
2GB Kingston DDR II
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00 GHz

Most of the time my GPU idles around 78-80°C, EasyTuner6 always tells me my CPU and System Temp are in RED ZONE, my cores idling temp is around 58°C to 61°C.

I haven't added any fans to my rig, should I? I think its kinda hot in there but even with my air conditioner on, I barely see 3-4°C of difference in temperature. Is that good enough?

Maybe I should get a 200mm Fan to suck out all my miseries... if i could only find the place to put it.

Someone help me please! sad.gif

I dont think add on a fan will greatly reduce the temperature.
The temperature you mentioned is in abnormal condition.
I am not sure but I suppose the main cause is from your hardware.
How about your HSF? Is it full of dust?
You may clean the your casing thoroughly so the airflow become smoother.

Did you disable the EIST function?

enable it can reduce your cpu temp to around 38~40C

getting better CPU cooler also recommended

check your GPU fan either it's full of dust or not... clean it with a proper cleaning solution... you may change the GPU fan to a better one. Besides put some good fan as a intake and outtake.. Monitor it wisely by using a monitoring temp software... smile.gif

better cpu cooler is the best choice if ts oc.
if not, stock hsf is enough..

as Calcool77 said, u may need some cleaning job

what your vcore for your proc?

i think you need to recheck again your HSF...maybe you need reattached your HSF...sound like your HSF not properly installed...

Air Conditioner on highest
Fanspeed maxed, 100%

I'd take a picture of how the inside of my cpu looks like if you all require me to do so.

Is XFX not trustworthy for modding the stock nVidia GPU fan? I thought that wasn't something i need to worry about as long as I bought XFX's graphics cards.

What are EIST function? How do I turn it on

You may want to:
1. clean the hsf, and re-apply thermal compound
2. add fans to improve the airflow in your casing
3. do some cable management

I'm using Elite 335 too, for intake I have two 120mm fan; for exhaust I have one 120mm plus one 80mm, together with psu and graphic card exhaust. With a proper cpu cooler (killer whale) and cable management my cpu is idling at 28C, northbridge is idling at 35C but my gpu tend to be on high side idling at 67C (4870 is damn hot, and my X-Fi is blocking the back of it). My ambient temperature is 25C air-cond.

I didn't mod a top exhaust lar, it's a rear exhaust. I just replace the pci slot cover with Silverstone Aeroslot, then put a 80mm fan over it as exhaust. It could be better if I just remove the cover but I can't stand the look of it. For my second 120mm intake fan I just mount it over the free 5.25" bay using a piece of plastic board. Those are tool-less mod. laugh.gif

as for the rear exhaust, i like ur idea.
its a nice idea as for the tool less mod. its difficult to find silverstone aeroslot.
maybe i can put customize fan grill there hmm.gif

Can I get a picture of your cpu ah? I wanted to add some fans but Elite 335 doesn't really have much space to add fans...

This is how my CPU looks like

omg, u need to do some cable management there
u can move your DVD/CD drive down 1 slot & put the rest of the unused cables on the top slot (easiest)

adding a 12cm fan in between your hard drive & front panel would help alot !
