The basic rule of thumb is that your monthly installment should be 1/3 of your salary (otherwise, you need a guarantor). So 2,500/3 is about RM 833.

For a 9 year loan, it will cost about RM 70k.

Financially, i propose you find a cheaper car unless you intend to make a large amount of down payment or you have your family backing.

To comment on the swift, it is a good car after reading many reviews.

Hi Guys,

Need some help here. Am driving a 2001 Honda City Type Z but it's a little small and quite old now. Am looking to upgrade to a used car in the 50+K range. I've narrowed down to Vios and Latio 1.6A sedan.

I'm not big on looks so I don' really care if the Latio doesn't kill me dead. My concerns:

- reliability
- affordable maintenance
- good fuel consumption
- good build quality (cannot stand cars that start rattling "somewhere" I don't know where to begin troubleshooting at)

I'm not that big on performance either as I don't race. I'm just a practical bloke looking for a comfortable car. I have tested it yet but I intend to.

On a side note, if I buy it new I heard the interest rate is only 1.99% PA or something like that. Is there some catch? Does anyone know?

Appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

Hi my monthly income is about 3.8k, I'm planning to sell off my fully paid wira 1.5gli se 2004 about 24k.

Looking for a bigger car with power and less noise. Currently aiming for accord 2.4 2005, peugeot 407 2.0 2005, camry 2.4 2005 about 80k - 90k. Then I will go for 60 - 65k loan.

Is it advisable? I'm afraid after getting it, then the car go major issue then headache.

If buy a brand new car then it's like 1.5 vios city or 1.6forte, like no different from my 1.5 wira and as noisy as my wira cabin when on high speed.

Sigh

Best choice below 30k would definitely be TOYOTA COROLLA AE111 (1600CC).
Both Auto & manual transmission are available.
This 15-year-old car can still roar, haha.

i'm 170cm

With my current seating position, it feels a bit tight already.

My head to the roof has a space of 2 fingers.

Better you test first.
