Guys, I’m getting a 4 years old Suzuki Swift at RM 50K (a CBU unit) which has the millage of 35KM

DO you think that it’s worth the price … or S.Swift has high maintenance fee and I should get a new one instead at (79K).

Suggestion pls !!!!
THX

Hi All

Considering Pug 308 (non turbo) or Kia Forte (1.6SX).

308 is more exp. Is it worth it?
We are looking to it more as young family car.
More important factors to consider are: Safety, comfort, reliability, maintainence costs, fuel economy.
Secondary (not as important) factors are: Performance, speed, image.

Which one is more reccomended?
Or any other cars we should have a look at/
Thanks!

308 - high maintenance costs after warranty period.
Kia forte - wait till next year. Coz it has been out for abt 2 years and they offer 3 years warranty. After the 3rd year then you'll know how the maintenance costs are.

Good mileage.

New car is worth 71k.

The difference in installments between a new RM71 k and RM50k is about RM 200.

Plus warranty is an advantage to new car owners.

Swift parts are expensive as they don;t have common parts like toyota, honda etc.... Even Mazda parts (i used to own 2 . 1985 and 1990.) are very difficult to find.

thx-thx for the reply.

insurance depends on the market value, cc of car and age.

insurance company will not insure your car more than the market value. If anything happens, they will only refer to the market value. They will not pay more.

What is your height?

Note that neo has a short roof.

I'm 170cm and the roof is 2 fingers higher than me.

One reason why i didn't buy is because of the roof.

When speeding on the highway and passing uneven roads, my head will knock on the roof (my simulation). And 90% of the time, i;m on the highway.

Calculate the interest and monthly installments.

At 5% and 7 years, you'll be paying almost RM500 (RM470++).

A new RM40k car with 9 years loan, you'll be paying around RM 500 also. You get a newer car and warranty.

It also depends on the car that you want. Long term? Short term?

regards,

You should test drive it at the road conditions that you will face everyday. Note that fc is not that good in the city center.

your driving style? Do you need the torque? Are you a relaxed driver?

Gen2 has a better handling.

H-Line is for family man. coz more relaxed driving.

Mostly Im a relaxed driver. But sometimes i could be aggressive especially when Im not in the mood. So i would say my driving style is 50/50. I was told that the audio system between these two model are different, whereby PE is better. Is it true? And is the rear seat comfortability and boot space for GEN2 significantly different than PE?

In my experience, depends on the sales personnel.

the only defect to the neo is the small and cramp interior.

the defect to the gen2 is the ceiling height for the back seats.

other than that, the car is fine.

The best selling proton is saga followed by persona. neo is the last of the 3.
