As alcatrez said, stretch your budget a little and u can get a Persona.

My sister recently bought a Persona Elegance Auto (H-Line), and i got something to say about this car.

Fuel consumption wise, not really impressing. Full tank of Ron 97 cost around RM75+- last around 3 days from Klang to PJ and back to Klang. Should perform better if u get a manual tranny

Power wise, well.. I used to drive an turbocharged. So driving back a NA is like .. You know what i mean?

Handling wise, my liking !

Maintenance, haven't do my first service yet. So far until now it's only 2.7KM


Interest rates is all depends on your document backup, financial status.

If you have strong financial backup (eg, pretty number in your bank statement, high pay salary, property, etc) then the interest rate will likely to be lower.

Second hand car have higher interest rate.

Best to check with your bank with the current rate.

i recently browse through mudah.com.my just find a right used car under 20k
and i found seriously huge amount of KIA SPECTRA in it... below 20k you get a good looking sedan aged not more than 5 years...

what do you guys think should i get it or not,
i heard that kia spectra had a very short life and very high maintainability cost and high priced parts, issit true?

from what i've read, Waja pre-Campro is more recommended than Spectra.

similar range of price with Waja topping on cheaper maintenance and FC.

one of my family already got waja... dont want another 1 at the garage

Starting work soon so looking for a used auto car.

Brand: Any
Budget: ~20k (monthly installments - rm500/month)
Specs: Total noob with cars so no idea. Preferable something with lots of safety features though x__x . Low maintenance + low fuel consumption.

This will be my first car so looking for something durable which can withstand a few knocks as it's also my first time driving ;;;. The Kia Picanto has caught my eye in terms of looks and cost but not too sure about the other features (safety, maintenance etc.). Parents however are pretty set on buying my relative's used Kelisa which they claim is safer than the Picanto. However I've heard from a friend that I might as well drive a Milo tin car if going to buy the Kelisa >_> . So any thoughts on that?

Recommendations for other cars which fit the above mentioned criteria are also welcome =D !

Kelisa is a good choice for first car. It handle and Fuel Consumption is pretty good IF u are slim! That why not suitable for me.

LOL!! I guess the keyword there is SLIM. Didn't know that some cars actually prefer skinny owners XD. Kinda assumed it's the same unless the owner is so big that he/she can't fit into the car =_= .

Hahha..ya..tat is the keyword..cause for me..i feel is quite sempit inside..not tat comfortable..but still can drive lah..fat guy always need more space to be comfortable..

Yup. I agree.

Kia tend to be more expensive to maintain as the mileage gets higher.

For a 2004 waja (last mitsubishi engine), the costs is around RM 26k.

I do not recommend Kia. If you are a total noob, if you are planning on learning abt cars, then go for 2nd hand. When i was a noob 8 years back, i bought a 2nd hand cars and spent a significant amount of time at the workshop. A very good learning process.

If you think u will not be interested in that, go for new cars. Saga or viva. I think Saga would best fit your criteria. Viva is not good on highways and impacts.
