with that kind of usage, better stick with regular c2d/ i5 series
consider studio 15 with i5 (rm 3.5k) or studio xps 16 (4k) |

certainly the k50ij is faster, since both of them is different purposes notebook.
asus 1005 is more into word processing and light browsing with long battery life... if you really need the long battery life, consider acer 1410T, at rm 1499, 6++ hours battery life, while still better performance than asus 1005, and the difference with the k50ij would be only slower processor, while still having the netbook size/weight. but for main notebook, I would really suggest taking bigger notebook, k50ij, it will be easier on the eye in long term~ |

QUOTE(vaires @ Jan 19 2010, 07:43 AM) 1. Brand: HP>Dell>ASUS can consider asus ul50v2. Budget: rm4000-rm5000 3. Specs: good performance, 4gb+ ram 4. Size: 15"-16" (dont like small screen, hard to read)- lightweight, thin, long battery life (portability, travelling), looks nice TQ.. QUOTE(joeycheong23 @ Jan 19 2010, 11:02 AM) 1. Brand : toshiba / dell dell inspiron 14, just customize it to your liking2. Budget : 3k 3. Specs : average 4. Size : average size. not too big or small. would prefer around 14inch more for college assignment use and online and stuff. not into gaming. or toshiba L510-S4318B or L510-S4316B QUOTE(Fyrekat @ Jan 19 2010, 11:13 AM) Hi, I'm looking for a laptop for gaming and photoshop usage. well, the different brand would mean different warranty policy, if not really tech person, consider dell, since if facing any problem, can just call them and they will their people to your house to fix it.
if pink preferable, do consider the inspiron 14, can customize it to pink lid. or if want more than just lid color, consider sony vaio cw15, rm 3299. |

well, lightweight/thin/long battery life doesn't fit much with gaming
unless light gaming and don't mind 14'', consider asus ul80vt, can last around 6++ hours and still manage to play cod:mw2 in low medium settings. or compromise on lightweight/thin/long battery life consider dell studio 15 |

QUOTE(Maxz @ Jan 20 2010, 02:44 PM) is Hp Pavillion dv4-2115TX good?? In terms of graphics usage, like Inventor Autocad and some gamings like Dota, WoW and COD????? should be ok with its i5 and hd4550.QUOTE(busyman @ Jan 20 2010, 03:58 PM) at most 2.5 hoursthe palm rest is cool, since the heat is diverted to the back of the notebook. though with your budget, you can get better notebook, you can't really hope to get away from heat with performance notebook. which is why Asus UL30VT is much better, it got overclockable cpu, 1.3ghz to 1.7ghz, switchable gpu, intel 4500mhd and nvidia g210m, weight at 1.7kg and still under rm 3k
though might come with newer spec, Asus UL30JT, using ULV i7, nvidia g310M. |

well, most of slim type is more onto battery life rather than performance,
its still lose to 2.0ghz, but in this kind of price range, there's thing you need to compromise on. |

QUOTE(Str33tBoY @ Jan 20 2010, 10:51 PM) ok... if you are really concern about cpu speed, consider hp probook 5310m, rm 3.2k, using SP9300 2.26ghz, the only downside, intel gma4500mhd and 1 slot of ram only.thx alot bro... veli appreciate dat... btw... stil capable to game lightly...? maybe play nfs shift...? as for ul30vt, there's benchmark of Asus UL80VT, which the exact same spec but with bigger screen, 14'', so performance wise should be similar. refer here |

QUOTE(farid_cool @ Jan 20 2010, 11:46 PM) hello, pretty much any notebook is sufficient, if want long battery life, consider acer timeline 4810TZ, rm 1999just asking for laptop which is suitable for office usage/watching movies below rm2000.must have dvd player. else, inspiron series is also ok, considering the onsite warranty or acer 4740. QUOTE(slayer9165 @ Jan 20 2010, 11:47 PM) hey ppl, i want to ask, for gaming laptop, which is better, Dell Studio 15 certainly.ASUS UL30A or Dell S15 ? And whats the price for both ? The Asus UL30A is more into battery life rather than performance, and its using intel gma4500m hd which is not gaming friendly. Studio 15 ranging from rm 2729 - 3999 depends configuration, with default specs. consider as well acer 5740g at rm 2999, using i5 + ati hd5470. |
