Got link to that product?

I found the Satelite A500-17x and A500-19x confusing abit.

http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/inn...t/1076471/tab/0
http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/inn...t/1076497/tab/0

So far, I can see that the A500-17x is cheaper and faster than the 19x?? Slower clock, higher FSB....

as for toshiba, still loading the page~

as for the price, I don't see 17-x is cheaper then 19x, its written " Contact Store for Price "
as for the spec, 17-x has better video card and processor (in term of Load temperature)
g210m is just entry level, while gt230m is mid level card.

hi,

budget: around 3.3k
brand prefer: hp, acer, dell, asus, compaq
i want a laptop that can do games (but not a very very heavy games), editing but thin and light weight (1.8kg and below) since i have to carry it most of the time.
please dont suggest compaq cq20 since i,ve use it before. in mind acer timeline =)
*
Asus UL30VT, overclockable cpu to 1.73Ghz, nvidia g210m/gma 4500m hd, 1.7kg, under 3k
though if for editing, better stick with regulard c2d, Asus U80V, 2.1kg, p7450, ati hd4570 for rm 3499

what do u think about dell inspiron 13? does it match UL30VT? http://www1.ap.dell.com/my/en/home/noteboo...s=dhs&cs=mydhs1
Tq
*
which configuration are you considering?
in term of cpu performance, inspiron 13 is better, though gpu might be worse since its using ddr2 for its hd4330
ul30vt wins in term of weight, battery life (>6 hours) and better gpu which essential in gaming.

Hi guys, i'm looking for an entertainment notebook, with FULL HD and a relatively bigger screen. Basically alternatives to the sony vaio VGN-FW56GF/B'

budget : below 6k

hopefully it'll be lighter as well as i'm bringing it overseas

thanks  smile.gif
*
well, alternatives from vaio fw is dell studio xps 16, though weight around the same.
how light is light? and how big sceen?

QUOTE(lalala_tupai @ Dec 22 2009, 12:03 PM)
need some advise
considering buying a new laptop to replace my desktop
budget around 3k + 500 is okay
currently shortlisted to
1) Asus u80v
2) Benq s42
3) Asus ul80vt

really keen on benq s42 but i read some review saying the battery life is awful. can anyone clarify?
asus ul80vt is tempting but said that the built quality is not good

appreciate any feedbacks
*
the battery life can reach 4 hours in gma mode

QUOTE(nottelling @ Dec 22 2009, 12:14 PM)
Looking for a portable notebook (other than netbook).

1. Brand : Any brand is OK
2. Budget : less than RM2k
3. Can multitask, surfing net, office work & movies.
4. Size : < 14"

Any other brands with similar specs like Acer 1810?
*
similar spec with 1810 as in screen size also?
if not, acer timeline 4810TZ for 14''
13'': inspiron 13, though battery life won' last long
as for 11.6'', so far 1810TZ gives better price/performance ratio.

how about ul80vt/ul30vt? which do you recommend?
appreciate comments on the built quality as well
*
well, its a decision whether you need optical drive or not.
because performance wise, can say they are exactly the same.
as for build quality, ul80vt has some mix response, while ul30vt seems good so far,

how bout Asus u80v compared with Benq s42?
can anyone recommend?
*
performance wise, benq s42 is the best in its price range
next step up would be lenovo y450 with gt130m, cost rm 3.6k
next step up would be vaio cw16/18fg costing rm 3999/4999, this would be the best 14'' you could find in malaysian market.
unless you willing to import from US, asus x83vp or asus n81vp would be the best 14'' gaming notebook in the world, for now.

asus U80V wins in terms of better warranty, design, lighter weight, but also more expensive.

if want higher than 8 hours, need to go culv notebook, which mostly 1.3-1.4ghz
you need to decide whether battery life or performance first.

for the long battery and performance issue, i thought SP processor gave a perfect balance for it? hp just introduced one lappie wif sp processor 8h and 2.4ghz (sort of)

or sp is not reliable enuf
*
SP is similar with P, its just that the S indicated its soldered cpu, while the P is socketed, which can be upgraded if you wanted to.
the one you mean is HP DM3? well, yes, if gives enough performance with good battery life, but gaming is likely will be limited with its g105m.

integrated? like gma 4500mhd?
hp dv3, hp dv4,hp probook
if you mean dedicated card, hp mostly gives g105m/hd4330 to its 14''
you need to go dv6, to get hd4650.

well, ddr2 and ddr3 doesn't give any signifcant improvement. though ddr3 certainly is the future.
performance wise, better concentrate on cpu and gpu.

consider lenovo g450 with g210m for rm 1999

if can up budget to rm 2199, better take benq s42, now got offer, should last longer when performance is needed~

as for acer 1810tz, its 11.6'' using su4100, which is underclocked and undervolted core 2 duo.

s42 is using 2.53ghz p8700 and nvidia 9600m gt, more than enough for average photoshop...
you would need more than rm 3k to beat benq s42 spec, as for now~

i know tat asus ee pc 1004N got DVD-rom but its not in msia yet

kind a rare for 11'' with dvd drive, the one I know either that eee pc, vaio TT, asus U2E, asus S6FM. But the latter two should be no where found.
12'' might have chance with compaq cq20 or acer 2930.
