1. around 3kg, but that's normal for 15''
2. design might not be appealing 3. so far the heat is manageable 4. glossy screen, 1366x768 no idea about i3/i5 |

well, performance and design doesn't mix well in term of price
as for reference, hd4650 in s57 is enough to play l4d2@max and cod:mw2@mid-high |

QUOTE(woonyoung91 @ Dec 19 2009, 06:15 AM) ok thx for the info well, with 14'' and better performance than s57 would be none to existence. Is it recommended to increase my budget to get s.xps? not quite sure whether its worthy for 4k. or maybe gonna downgrade to s42 hehe. btw any other recommendation for 3.5k ; preferable 13-14in but with similar performance, it would be asus x83vp, but need to import from US |

QUOTE(woonyoung91 @ Dec 19 2009, 08:30 PM) happy to know that its below 3.5k woo woooo hope to get it by next year. would check on it then ps : lee_what2004, mind to help me get image and some reviews on x83vp so sorry for the trouble hehe. anyway is the ram ddr2 or ddr3 & the weight of lappy? guessing it ddr2 . btw does amazon ship to malaysia or any dealer in malaysia that ships that model in? the price now only $830.88 woops sorry for so much questions http://www.overclock.net/laptops-notebook-...-a1-review.html ddr2 ram, weighted at 2.4kg, one of heaviest 14'' notebook, but given the spec, its natural. x83vp is not available in malaysia. as for the price, consider it as $930, I doubt you can clear the mail-in rebate QUOTE(adrian7386 @ Dec 19 2009, 11:57 PM) based on spec alone, best for now would be ul30vt.others, acer timeline 3810T, toshiba t130, dell inspiron 13z, vostro v13 |

how light is light?
gaming? what level? battery life? how long? gaming wise in 13'' category, would be sony sr55, with hd4570 would be the best 14'': sony vaio cw16/18fg, would be the best. excluding import battery life wise 13'': ul30vt 14'': ul80vt mix 14'': benq s42, asus u80v This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Dec 20 2009, 12:51 AM |

battery life of 3-4 hours enough? of course not in gaming mode.
if lightweight more important: sony sr55, 1.9kg performance is more on concern benq s42/vaio cw18fg at 2.3-2.4kg if batterylife >6 hours is more on concerned asus ul30vt performance vaio cw18fg > benq s42 > wise sr55 > ul30vt all of those should still under 5k |

yes, dm3 win in term of processor, but the gpu being used in it is one of the lowest in the class. g210m > g105m
which said, in gaming, most of the time, its the gpu that bottleneck, that's why gpu is being the most important factor to consider when gaming is concerned. hd4570 is better than g210m |

QUOTE(adrian7386 @ Dec 20 2009, 01:20 AM) wah im so confusing now...so which model u all recommended?budget is not a problem ^^ well, if 2.4kg & 3hours battery life is not really a concern vaio cw16fg or cw18fg would be one of best 14'' you could get in malaysia.battery life, gaming l4d2,fifa10,nfs shift, light weight,13-14inch else, vaio sr55, if want 13''and 1.9kg. QUOTE(chuen87 @ Dec 20 2009, 05:21 AM) as mentioned above, i need some advice on which brand of lap top should i get at that range of price. ( windows7 and microsoft included) budget 3-3.5k, right? asus u80vthe purpose of this laptop is to do assignments, abit of gaming (not those high end games), dont carry around often so abit heavy is ok. Prefered screen is to be at least 14' and above. oh ya.. futuring my studies overseas so i think i might need international warrenty thanks in advannce =)) QUOTE(Reader2008 @ Dec 20 2009, 09:13 AM) I found a U80V-WX114V , but it only offer window vista home premium instead of window 7 pro for RM3799. Is it worth? that one should come with windows 7 home premium.try here, its rm 3499 http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1230221 This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Dec 20 2009, 12:06 PM |

QUOTE(chuen87 @ Dec 21 2009, 07:26 AM) oh thanks lee..i pretty like the asus u80v u recommended to me.. but i would like to know what is so good about this lap top compare to others? its 14'', its light (2.1kg), backlit keyboard, and it got 2 years international warranty, good enough for light gaming (ati hd4570).though other brand can offer better spec in exchange of heavier weight or shorter warranty like benq s42/s57 (1 year international) or dell studio 15 (need to upgrade to 3 years warranty to change it to international warranty) gaming wise benq s57 > benq s42 > studio 15 > asus u80v performance/price wise I do recommended benq s47 if the second year warranty is not priority. |

budget?
14'' wise, the best you could get either vaio cw16/18fg, lenovo y450 with gt130m, zepto 14a/14b with gt130m, benq s42 with 9600m gt, otherwise need 15'' above unless you want to consider importing from US, Asus X83Vp and Asus N81Vp, both with hd4650, match with gt230m This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Dec 21 2009, 11:11 PM |

what macbook pro you tried? 13'' or 15''?
13'' comes with integrated 9400m while 15'' comes with 9600m gt well, you can get the same spec with that mac book pro 15 with benq s42, with almost half price of it. other model mentioned is even better spec than the macbook pro. 15'': can consider benq s57, dell studio xps 16, acer 5935G with gt240m, lenovo y550, all still under 4k. hp envy 15 weight at 2.4kg, i7 + ati hd4830, speakers from beat, rm 8999
if not enough battery life, can purchase another battery slice to put at bottom. This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Dec 22 2009, 09:46 AM |
