or Dell Studio 15, C2D T6500 with HD4570, 15" @ 1366x768, starting from rm2699

i suggest Dell Studio 15 (T6500 + HD4570, rm2699 and up) or BenQ S42 (P8700 + 9600M GT, rm2799-rm2899) instead...

Studio 14 uses P8700 with HD4530... and cost more than rm3k...
well, for 14" with rm3k, S42 is the best u can get, and at a pretty bargain price too... for other brands it would be Dell Studio 14, Asus U80V (T6500 with HD4570, rm3199)...
abt 1 week ago S42 was still selling at rm3250...

QUOTE(washabushi @ Oct 27 2009, 04:46 AM) may i know u80v and u50v any different beside the size? i think i can consider 15" also benq slightly lower price but less wrty coverage(asus 2 years global) graphic... iirc U80V is HD4570 and U50V is G 102M... BenQ, well, S42 basically pwns other brands models in the same price range when comes to performance... Added on October 27, 2009, 6:25 amQUOTE(lollita @ Oct 27 2009, 02:50 AM) hi.. looking for something around 3k n below.. i dun mind bout the brand as long as the performance is good.. mainly wanna use for listening to music, surfing the net and designing things.. not so crazy bout heavy weight and small screen though.. Dell Studio 15, BenQ S42, Asus U80V This post has been edited by astria: Oct 27 2009, 06:25 AM

most ppl who own S57 in the BenQ thread is becuz of the HD4650, not the BD drive... that was before Dell upgrade the GPU of SXPS16 to HD4670... at that time S57 has the best spec for a 15"/16" in the market... but now with the likes of updated SXPS16 and Asus N51Vn, S57 is back to wat BenQ is good at - price:performance ratio... that time i told the S57 would-be owners, 2 yrs down the road, when the laptop can't satisfy u in games, convert it into a media center for ur home... think that way and u probably get a BD player at a pretty good price...

QUOTE(washabushi @ Oct 29 2009, 02:35 AM) i'm not sure if i like the 16:9 ==' u dun ve a choice... it's the trend now... M1530 was becuz of the GPU... other brands like HP, Sony, Apple, Asus, Acer, BenQ all kenna the same problem... i used to own a BenQ S41 with 8600M GS and took it back to service center for 3 times in 1.5yr, all becuz of the GPU... blame Nvidia for all the problems...
anyway, for rm3.5k, i would suggest BenQ S42 for performance, Studio 15 for warranty service, or if u can stretch the budget a bit, BenQ S57 (rm3699 iirc)
as for the performance of HD4570, well, on paper it's weaker than a 8600M GT, but in benchmark and games, they ve roughly the same performance... it's a surprisingly good GPU even though it's suppose to be for the value market...
but of course, 9600M GT has even better performance, even though it has the same spec as a 8600M GT...
