I notice that most people here recommend Dell. I've always thought that their products were overpriced. I'm not being biased or anything here, since at the moment I'm using an XPS 420 desktop. I, too am browsing around looking for a suitable laptop with a pricetag around ~3000-4000.

the XPS desktop, like many other gaming desktops from other brands as well, are always over-priced...

more often than not, u can save a lot by going the DIY path...

anyway, back to ur laptop hunting, for rm4k u have choices like Dell Studio XPS 16, Acer Aspire 5935G...

the ones that are over-priced in the world of laptops are Sony Vaio and Apple Mac, in terms of price:performance ratio...

how about

core i7 1.6 ghz Vs core 2 duo 2.4 ghz..?

depends on wat u want to do with the laptop...

look, i can't give u any constructive suggestion unless u tell us ur budget and ur usage at the very least... and preferably if u ve any other requirements as well (eg monitor size)
