Just wanna ask SXPS 16 owners

I assume those who keep their lappies at home, remove the battery and use direct current right?

Urghhh...the large gap there between the monitor and the keyboard shakehead.gif A bit ugly if u ask me...what do you all do ? The hole is too big and too noticeable mad.gif

I'm probably gonna find some black cloth cover it sweat.gif

Hmmm,, i think Dell gotta use a suitable motherboard in order for the RAM score to be higher. My dell Xps 1640 " Core 2 Duo Spec" RAM score is ( 6.4 ), Core i7 has a RAM score of ( 7.4 ). Perhaps, you should update your bios later!

Yeah, the temp is good at idle, but full loading it starts to get hot <<< Quite similar to Core 2 duo the temp

Hmmm, have you re-format your laptop yet? The boot up and shut time slow due to too many Junk Application softwares, utilities, etc, etc installed by dell, i had this same issue too. After formating, the boot up and shut down time is faster than the before format.

i thought i5 score higher than i7 due to higher clock speed, only 6.7 kinda disappointed ! i5 n i7 using same motherboard(PM55 chipset) right ?

Lower clock speed doesn't mean lower processor score. Yeah, i5 and i7 using the same motherboard.

Thanks.
Just checking if the chipset actually supports switchable graphics. nod.gif Turns out it's not possible. That's sad. Kind of weird for Dell to not include the HM55 chipset even though specs stated so on their site. Hopefully I'm wrong in this aspect but I've gone through numerous sites only to find out that PM55 chipset does not support switchable graphics.

If you ask me, i would say why not! I saw the a review website on a Core i5 benchmark, they compare it against Core 2 Duo T9600. Core i5-520M it is just about maximum 15% higher in term performance than T9600.

If you compare Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9800 (2.93GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 6MB Cache) or Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9900 (3.06GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 6MB Cache) against Core i5-520M. Core i5-520M lose in term of performance.

However, there are severely advantage of the new Core i5 processor:
-> Review site claimed that Core i5 have slightly better multimedia performance
-> Runs cooler on idle, so it is Low energy consumption in office use
-> Core i5 would be better is you choose Intel® Core™ i5-540M Processor (2.53Ghz, 4 Thread, turbo boost up to 3.06 GHz, 3M cache)

I saw this review few weeks ago, i saw the review at www.notebookcheck.net/

How much is Zagg?As far as i know, i see lots of complains about users trying to use Zagg properly but ended up messing it up(for mobile phones) because it's just too darn tedious
