Well, if solely based on WEI score, the Dell driver does give you a very high rating, 6.4 for both graphics and gaming graphics. So far that's the highest I've seen, as compared to other versions by ATI.

I guess it's cheaper because of the processor. Anyway when you customise it like the RM3999 or RM4699 version, it would be cheaper about RM200 LoL.. Tried it already cheaper to customise from the RM3499 base spec biggrin.gif

XPS M1330, and XPS M1530, problem are becuz of the GPU...

i would say, unless u know that the apps u use would benefit from HTT, stick to C2D otherwise...

Not problems.. The key here is optimisation..

If your game/app does not use 4 cores or more.. It would be a waste..

Im not sure how the turbo works though.. I think its only 1 Core will be turbo boosted to 2.8GHz for the Corei7-720QM 1.6GHz..

it's not really problems, rather, whether a Core i7 CPU can show it's true performance depends largely on software optimization...

if an app has been optimized for HTT, u'll see up to 30% performance gain (clock for clock), however if it's not, u'll see performance drop instead...

and unlike the desktop variants, which have high clock speed to fall back on should HTT is not being utilized, the laptop variants are severely low clocked, and thus, if HTT is not being used, it would perform worse than a C2Q or high clocked C2D...

so the qn u need to ask urself is, is HTT going to be an important feature to u... if yes, go ahead and grab i7, if not, u'll ve better performance using the older C2D...

I think what he meant is the Power throttling & heat issue of Core i7 Processor rite?

Power throttling can be solve by using the 130W Adapter ( you probably have to request for it )

Core i7 is very hot. Idle is already 60 to 65'c . Full loading could be 80'c ++ . But performance wise, powerful lah!

However, I think Core 2 Duo should be fine!
