Just got back from PC Fair. In case anyone's interested, there are 2 distributors selling the Dell SXPS 16 i7, both RM4,999 with 1 year Dell warranty.

One offering some 3D2N travel package, backpack + Nesh water filter. Not the usual freebies. Feels more to me like they're just dumping whatever they have into the freebie package.

The other one (3rd floor, the 1st booth on left of entrance) offering an 8GB pendrive, a backpack and a "hamper" that includes mouse, headset, cooling pad, mini USB hub and some laptop cleaning stuff.

Hi guys, any latest price update from PC fair? Wht is the cheapest price I can get through Dell using phone call with the following spec? Or is there any other retailer with the following spec at a cheaper price?

Actually i compared both the Core 2 Duo and i7 price of the SXPS 16 on Dell's website. After i bumped everything up to the same specs as i7 (except the processor lah of course ) it came up to a ~RM200 difference. So might as well go for the i7, if gaming is not the priority and stuff.

Like i mentioned earlier, i haven't got mine yet. Just went there to survey the offers first~

Hmm... U sure? I thought the Wireless-N card supports a/b/g/n, with extra speed for n? No?

Asked u about the color cuz in case u were opting for the white, they don't have. They only got the red and black at the PC fair. Since u're getting the black, it's all good then ^^

Intel WiFi card allows u to have a shiny Centrino 2 sticker, other than that, there's nothing much in terms of functionality...

Well, i aware about throttle performance for other dell's model...not XPS 16 (i7)
But knowing Dell, they sure gonna rectify/replace/whatever it sooner or later..

Based on previous history, most probably they gonna update the bios rather than replacing the power adaptor.

so, a newbie with the Dellxps16 id asking or calling not to buy XPS16? Is that right?

On a different note, if you guys think that the power throttling issue is like the end of the world for you, by all means...just dont buy it.

anyone else wants to buy XPS16? Confirmed can get further RM250 discount if your total amount after customization is RM4600 or more
