For those who want to achieve better cooling, its better to raise the laptop about an inch or two at the back with the backpanel opened. And make sure nothing block the intake/ exhaust with sufficient area for the cooling to breathe (open area is recomended). I make a hole to my cheap notebook cooler for the fan to breath better. I noticed doing this can improve cooling further about 2-3C

I wonder why you guys so anal about driver version? Unless it gives some boost in performance in games dont bother about it, its not like 8.631 is 10fps slower than 8.661

QUOTE(User_Xp @ Nov 21 2009, 12:44 AM) i just search using uncle google... just updated to 218 bios, lucky for me it`s works... but nothing change Ok, thanks for testing. BTW i just run 3DMark Vantage on this lappy, I got this score: Entry Preset:3090 GPU score: 5041 CPU score: 1422 The Entry preset score is not bad, but the Performance preset (but with 1366x768 resolution instead of normal 1280x1024) runs as slow as a snail doing 100m run Other 3DMark score is on 2nd post, check it out

That is why I run the fan via 5V USB power, I dont want to toast the two most precious thing in this lappy. I want to report this to ASUS, but I have done plenty before, mostly mobo as I use nothing but ASUS for the past 2 years, they dont bother Hmm...I dont know whether I want to use HD3200 as I run on plug most of the time....ah might as well use it since its there

QUOTE(GothFebrio @ Nov 21 2009, 02:13 PM) dont post on asus forum, that forum is for support from other users. like wat we doin here. if u were to complain and suggest just send them email. Still no use, they usually put lame suggestion like we know nothing about computer or give empty promises like "report this to a higher department" or something like that EDIT: I put a low resolution Crysis Warhead cutscene video on the 2nd post, all the setting is on the video detail This post has been edited by Najmods: Nov 21 2009, 02:23 PM

QUOTE(Muhammad Syukri @ Nov 21 2009, 08:04 PM) it just take 5 minutes for me,but mine not worked because there is no sound after install it. Btw,any guru can teach me how to use AMD Overdrive??? Overdrive is mainly used for overclocking/tweaking but overclocking doesnt work but you can chage memory timing, but there are lots of setting in there and most of the time even the best tweaked one doesnt have much difference

QUOTE(NaGeNaZ @ Nov 21 2009, 11:02 PM) Why not use Winflash? Its far more easier to flash or does it have any disadvantages that i'm not aware of ? Nah, only if you know what you are doing then you can use Winflash. Hmm...with Winflash I think you can flash k40 BIOS in k50 lappy and vice versa but I dont think there are any benefits, unless one is superior (like fan speed for example) QUOTE(saw2001 @ Nov 21 2009, 11:16 PM) hmm. ok. can give me some source on how to overclock my graphic card?? so far the COD 6 is working like a charm on this laptop??? Have you even bother to look at first page? For crying out loud...this getting annoying. Everything is there This post has been edited by Najmods: Nov 21 2009, 11:19 PM

Welcome to the forum. First of all, is that the latest driver from ASUS site? If it is, if I remember correctly Windows XP doesnt support PowerXpress so you need to force to run dGPU from the BIOS

Yes, that is exactly what I said. Before you try reinstalling XP you could just change the BIOS setting, I think you dont need to reinstall Windows

QUOTE(craw @ Nov 26 2009, 03:40 PM) it feel hot at numpad area.... why this happen to me k10stat show 77+C 77C is fine. If its just hot and dont have any other problem like system hang or crash you'll be fine. Of course its hot, if you use k50AB the numpad is sitting on top of the DC converter (or should I say power supply) if you plug it to the wall. Mine runs hot too when gaming. If you plug it to the wall remove the battery I've run GTAIV for a few days now, it only get 15fps but its playabe....just. If there is anyway to overclock the CPU it would be great And also, I got my USB fan hack to run internally so you can run with the backpanel closed. I'll upload them soon This post has been edited by Najmods: Nov 26 2009, 03:48 PM

Here is the pics. For you to get it work with the backpanel closed you need to plug it inside, thankfully the inside of the USB port is open and you can safely put the wire there and the advantage is you can still use the USB port for other stuff too like thmbdrive, mouse etc. Picture below shows the +5V supply of the USB And I ground the CPU+GPU fan onto the DC in pictured below, now you can put the backpanel and still running full speed It is posted on the first page, 2nd post for more detail picture
