Just tested the 10.3 Beta, works great! 1.2V in GPU Clock Tool now working perfectly, which means anything above 730MHz core is now possible

QUOTE(chugeliang @ Mar 8 2010, 04:23 AM) hi all, im facing problem regarding overriding fan speed via USB power. I just put the cable only just touching the USB slot inside, and I wedge the wires in between the two 100uF capacitor near there without any tape. The cable I use is pretty sturdy and won't go out of shape after I shaped it that way. Just don't force it too far inside the USB slot or it might short with other pins and might create problem when you plug something into itThe problem is the cord which attached to the +5V supply loose frequently eventhough i had put some celotape to secure the position of the cord. any other idea to attach the cord correctly ? T_T im also curious on how najmods attached his cord...it seems that the cord is forced into, touching the small metal plate and stuck inside so that it wont loose easily ? i've opened up my backpanel for more than 4times in a day....HELP ! najmods |

QUOTE(NaGeNaZ @ Mar 8 2010, 12:37 AM) I feel very heavy using Photoshop & Illustrator CS4. But the cpu usage is just about 40% and memory about 60%. (2GB overall). Yeah some programs really needs more CPU headroom, I get the feeling that I wanted to buy Turion Ultra ZM-84 (2.3GHz 2MB L2 cache) at eBay but I don't know whether it is worth it or not Playing Modern Warfare 2 feel smoother than using Creative Suite 4. Need i7 power I think. |

QUOTE(NaGeNaZ @ Mar 10 2010, 11:13 PM) Hmm.. not much difference in performance right based on benchmark data. How if you just wait for K42/52. That might be the upgrade you're looking for. Hmm.. the CPU I gonna buy is Engineering Sample, which means its an unlocked CPU and probably I could overclocked it simply with k10stat. But there are few thins I worried; one is its from eBay, 2nd is I don't know the CPU support, it say it does support ZM-84 but ASUS representative refused to provide any info on CPU support, most of all, I don't think AMD mobile CPU have much headroom in overclocking since the highest barely reach 2.5GHz But if you got some extra cash to spend, why not buy the cpu and mod it to unlock its full potential? I have some other plans to increase its responsiveness (change to 7200rpm disks and low latency DDR2 memory) but I think its not worth it. Sigh, I like this laptop but there are not much headroom for upgrading. |

QUOTE(junkieG @ Mar 11 2010, 10:12 AM) brader, 7200rpm is nuthing compare to SSD... SSD if bloody expensive. The low end one is not that good with random read/write. Until SSD price is reasonable enough with reasonable capacity, I would never consider SSD as my next harddrive upgrade. I rather cut my left leg, beat myself to death with it before I bought SSD.SSD will be my next upgrade for sure...um fine wif 2gb ram so far... |

Latest Catalyst 10.3 works well, the 1.2V still works, thus the more than 730-740MHz core clock is possible just like 10.3 beta
But download the mobility one, not the official. Google for it |

QUOTE(NaGeNaZ @ Mar 31 2010, 10:56 PM) Sound from speaker or from what? Probably nothing serious, just the magnet recoil during shut down or restart. Yes, thats true. But one thing I noticed is when I use generic Windows driver I don't have those sound, but if I use VIA driver or SRS those sounds comes out. I wonder why |

I no longer use SRS, instead I use the VIA equalizer to make the speaker louder.
The new 10.3 driver works well, I been replaying few older games, like H.A.W.X, Crysis Warhead and CnC3 KW. Performance is great, and with 1.2V I could reach impossible frequencies like 780MHz core This post has been edited by Najmods: Apr 3 2010, 11:06 PM |

I done few more mods, one is I make a hole on the back cover to feed air to the fan to make this laptop more mobile, without the back cover its vulnerable to dust, water etc. With this hole, and a dust filter, it work just as well as without the back cover. Plus I remove the back grille just for fun. I'll upload the pics soon

QUOTE(kucingfight @ Apr 5 2010, 07:41 PM) looks like the 45nm new AMD architecture has brought a BIG improvement Thats good, if only our K40AB support them. Hmm, I will make a request somehow, if I couldqouted from lenovo G455 thread 'full charge 3hrs 40minutes with winamp + internet explorer. ' almost 1x better than QL/RM Anyway I don't understand why people say '1x better' or in Malay sekali ganda, in mathematical terms thats means no improvement, whatever number you multiply with one you will get the same number. The correct way to express them is it got better by 1.5x |

Does the artifact start to emerge right after you start the game or it take some time before it appear?
