Just tested the 10.3 Beta, works great! 1.2V in GPU Clock Tool now working perfectly, which means anything above 730MHz core is now possible

I just put the cable only just touching the USB slot inside, and I wedge the wires in between the two 100uF capacitor near there without any tape. The cable I use is pretty sturdy and won't go out of shape after I shaped it that way. Just don't force it too far inside the USB slot or it might short with other pins and might create problem when you plug something into it

Yeah some programs really needs more CPU headroom, I get the feeling that I wanted to buy Turion Ultra ZM-84 (2.3GHz 2MB L2 cache) at eBay but I don't know whether it is worth it or not What do you think?

Hmm.. the CPU I gonna buy is Engineering Sample, which means its an unlocked CPU and probably I could overclocked it simply with k10stat. But there are few thins I worried; one is its from eBay, 2nd is I don't know the CPU support, it say it does support ZM-84 but ASUS representative refused to provide any info on CPU support, most of all, I don't think AMD mobile CPU have much headroom in overclocking since the highest barely reach 2.5GHz

I have some other plans to increase its responsiveness (change to 7200rpm disks and low latency DDR2 memory) but I think its not worth it. Sigh, I like this laptop but there are not much headroom for upgrading.

SSD if bloody expensive. The low end one is not that good with random read/write. Until SSD price is reasonable enough with reasonable capacity, I would never consider SSD as my next harddrive upgrade. I rather cut my left leg, beat myself to death with it before I bought SSD.

But one thing I noticed is when I use generic Windows driver I don't have those sound, but if I use VIA driver or SRS those sounds comes out. I wonder why

I no longer use SRS, instead I use the VIA equalizer to make the speaker louder.

The new 10.3 driver works well, I been replaying few older games, like H.A.W.X, Crysis Warhead and CnC3 KW. Performance is great, and with 1.2V I could reach impossible frequencies like 780MHz core But you need hefty cooling, like remove back cover and higher fan speed to achieve those. I'm planning to buy 125W power adapter for more stability as the stock one, although it is stable, runs pretty hot when gaming

I done few more mods, one is I make a hole on the back cover to feed air to the fan to make this laptop more mobile, without the back cover its vulnerable to dust, water etc. With this hole, and a dust filter, it work just as well as without the back cover. Plus I remove the back grille just for fun. I'll upload the pics soon

Anyway I don't understand why people say '1x better' or in Malay sekali ganda, in mathematical terms thats means no improvement, whatever number you multiply with one you will get the same number. The correct way to express them is it got better by 1.5x

Does the artifact start to emerge right after you start the game or it take some time before it appear?

You better keep the core low, around 700MHz or even stock 680MHz at 1.1V, with 600MHz memory, the HD4570 really starving for memory bandwidth because of the slow DDR2 memory it uses
