weeee i able to help aspire!!! XD haha

anyway erm well i think defrag a flash will force it to rewrite all ur stuff there again. IT rearranging files or not i not sure coz so far i analyze my flash memory, it shows 0 fragmentation.

It might just rewrite the same thing in the same place. Maybe thats why it still takes a long time.
*
From my logic. If there is no event it should be like instant complete. After i defrag i try to defrag again its faster like instant complete. Hmmm. If rewrite is logical it should take as long as the first time i do it?
Dont you think so?

lol.. i don't even have to elaborate and let you all explain to him.. seems so many people wanna help aspire here.. tongue.gif

Oki the point is.. yes indeed there SHOULD not be any effect if we defragment flash memory but INTERESTINGLY.. i have read in numerous sources the effect is still positive and the flash memory does improve. Do remember.. don't do it frequently.. it WILL INDEED shorten your flash memory lifespan.. wink.gif

err bad news. just stumbled upon this:

QUOTE
You may have applications that assume or require files in flash memory to be contiguous. In that case defragging would be a good idea. But wait, there is a problem. Flash memory only supports a finite number of writes and defraging involves a lot of writing. So by defragging flash you are shortening its working life.

I think that answers everything on defragging our tube MMC smile.gif

Hmm then the only logical assumption i can see is files in memory card maybe do defrag just that without needing a physical part to read like our hard disk's laser head, the reading speed doesnt really affected significantly or noticeable.

But putting it together certainly will make reading faster especially for big files.

conclusion there is pro and cons to defragging flash memory.

Pros: Faster reading speed.

Cons: Shorter life span

XD Defragging is for the rich then XD

@cyberkewl: my guess could be that ur memory card protected from installing java files? check at the app manager if i'm not wrong.

It sounds like : MMC = Unable, Phone = Able, Rite? nway, app mgr doesn't seems to help. no such options there. did this happen for all ur java files or just one app? not sure if missing jad file could trigger it though (not expert in mobile apps)
