I tried TTPod that day i got my tube, i dunno is it my tube prob or what, but ttpod seems laggy? when i press "play" it does not play immediately, it will lag and play after a few seconds...

Or maybe i downloaded a crap version? anyone got dl link? TTPod main website's download link seems dead...

BTW i have a question for my tube (read everything in FP and googled but no result)
I have a dead file in my gallery, i dunno why is it there but it's corrupt and i can't delete it. I searched using mass storage mode in my pc but that file doesn't exist. I can't delete it and it's very annoying... any trick to remove except format?

What kind of file? pictures?? music.. found a solution here.. try first

I had a similar problem. The difference was that the broken image was a video file I made and somehow deleted later, and it stayed in the photo library (and was shown as the broken image). When I tried to delete it, the phone just said: General: System error.

I spent some time trying to find out how to fix this. In the end a night's sleep did the work and, as usual, the simpliest solution was the best. THIS WORKED FOR ME:

Open Nokia Photos on your PC (if you don't have it, I'm sure you can download it somewhere from nokia, I had it installed from the CD that came with my phone).
Connect your phone to the PC, select PC Suite connection mode.
Wait until your device shows up in the Nokia Photos app (in my app it showed up top from Computer, on top left).
Click Captured pictures and video (the name can differ, I have a czech version) under your phone's tab.
Find your broken image/video.
Click it.
Press DELETE on your keyboard.
Confirm.
Done it should b

Key point: use PCsuite mode instead of mass storage mode

@aspire2006: why do u need to defrag anyway? Not an IT master, but flash card is not read sequentially, thus there's no need for defrag rite? If i'm correct, defrag is just data movement to make sure that u can access it faster. it is good for mecha-based SATA/PATA since they might be times when we will need some data at cluster A, seg A but then it is continued to some other parts of the disk. this surely doesn't apply in flash card as in mechanical magnetic disk

Simple explaination if u go to a library and the books are thrown everywhere. it will take u a lifetime or near forever to find a specific book. By arrange them alphabetical order u know where to look. Letter B u go letter B.

So for memory cards u install u install u delete u transfer. so its like ppl throwing books into the library without putting the right place. By defragment it arrange all the system files in order. For me after i do defragment my tube become more responsive to games or softwares because the phone itself knows how to look for a practically. Thats what i know from my knowledge. Correct me if i am wrong.

A memory card and a hard disk whats the difference? They still have a system files. Both also still use NTFS or RAW or FAT.

carbon is rite. flash memory doesnt nid defrag. It only applies to magnetic disk.

Although aspire analogy is correct but it doesnt apply to flash because the way flash and magnetic storage write and read data is diff. Files wont get fragmented in flash. No physical movement in flash

just curious if the files wont get defragmented in flash means no movement but why it takes so long to defragment? What is the program doing eh?

@aspire2006: what you're trying to imply is the idea of why we should defrag our hard disk.

in flash memory, everything should be electrical. notice that electron moves very fast, i think even faster than a blink of an eye. It should be instantaneous when you got a conductor/semiconductor as your medium to make it flow.

here's some quotes from The Google :
QUOTE
Like many other MP3 players, the S50 uses flash memory, and while defragging might help a hard drive based device, the same does not hold true for flash memory. In fact, since flash memory can only be read/written to a certain number of times, the act of defragging it actually shortens its life.

Defragging hard drives makes data access more efficient because the data stored on the disk is moved around so that it is more contiguous and therefore more easily read by the drive head. Flash memory doesn’t have a single read/write head so nothing is gained by more contiguous data blocks.

@aspire2006: on your question why it take so long : it will take so long, regardless whether it is electrical/mechanical, coz defrag is to me like going back to the library and restructuring back the books. regardless of people or machines doing it, that job is going to take a long time...

weeee i able to help aspire!!! XD haha

anyway erm well i think defrag a flash will force it to rewrite all ur stuff there again. IT rearranging files or not i not sure coz so far i analyze my flash memory, it shows 0 fragmentation.

It might just rewrite the same thing in the same place. Maybe thats why it still takes a long time.
