The 1055 chip have a significantly smaller flash mem. Any performance difference?

Which is better in real life performance?

Looking for a small or verticle standing player, which do you recommend? (tv rack full, no more space to put anymore  rclxub.gif )

If just simple basic player 1055 will do, do not look into too much technical details as it'll only make you more confused. But main point is firmware upgrade support for future.

The casing a little "busy". I think sleeker, minimal design will look classier. Think Apple products. Super-clean minimal design. thumbup.gif

If casing and packing nicer then can sell for more whistling.gif

RAM- 256MB (old 128MB)
LAN - 1000mbps (old 100mbps)

1185
Improve support BDISO ( BD profile 1.0 )
too bad still not support BD-Live (BD-J).

Deep color 12bit support.

perhaps it is but look at the solution of Datage HDPRO X2 above. They raised the top a little for air to pass. Nice elegant solution. Nice design thumbup.gif

actually Himedia HD600A (1185) also no fan, it works well and not that hot. However, if I put a HDD on top the temperature becomes too hot for my liking. Someone tested after playing SATA HDD after 10mins, the power used for HD600A with SATA HDD attached is <12W

I don't think plastic casing will be ideal for 1185 especially without fan. Himedia claims HD600B is also fanless cause they have a better design casing that helps distribute heat well. Still waiting for reviews to confirm there won't be any heat issue.

The comment I made regarding heat issue for 1185 is based of my 2 weeks with HD600A.

Realtek 1185 cpu package is FBGA. size reduce and less heat 40-50% from 1073DD.

fanless
average only ~40c . 1073 might over 70c

Hi All,

Glad i found this thread, after looking and reading so many reference I came out some question that I might need help to all of you guys to recommend me which brand / model / chipset are suitable for me (and the price too smile.gif )

I need media player can fit my 2TB harddisk, I don't need the wifi because the media player purpose is only to play the movie on the disk, USB port, Sata and complete output will be fit enough for me.

This external disk intend to be a mobile because I will carry this everywhere I go, and I need complete output for this.

If I read the reference, the chipset might be 1055.

Is there anyone can share experience using this chips and which brand ?

about performance, file format, Sound quality, Subtitle (important), UI, etc..

Please help

If you ask for recommendation this way, you'll definitely receive a lot of recommendations all the way to the high-end models. Would be best if it could be narrowed down by stating your budget or at least how much maximum are you willing to pay for this media player. biggrin.gif

Oh..

Okay, my budget max is 200-400.
But I would prefer for 1055, since its more simpler.

For based on chip I saw below product selling on lowyat:
Datage R1055, AC Ryan Essential, and I also found Mede8er MED300X but couldnt found whose selling this in Malaysia.

For time being I'm intrested with MED300X as I saw the interface UI look nice brows.gif , AC Ryan also nice, but I've read soo many complaint from their forum and make me scare to buy rclxub.gif

Datage R1055 Selling 200Rm, AC Ryan selling around 315 same chipset, and which I dont know why this more expensive, probably the casing, hw, and software.

As I can see here, seems like everyone rarely using 1055, may I know why, as I think maybe because of the price only slightly differ ?

whistling.gif I hope all sifu here can give me some light notworthy.gif

You may consider Egreat R6B as well, using Realtek 1055 chipsets. You may get it at retail stores.
