Which chipset is better 1055 or the 1073? The 1055 has faster clock speed. Does it make any difference?

correct me if I'm wrong, the 1055 is a crippled version of the new 1185 chipset. 1055 is a basic player without lan/wifi/internet support. 1073DD is sort of a generation behind 1185, it has network support. So it really depends on what you want^^

Dont need internet support. Just a basic player. So does that mean that the 1055 chip is newer, therefore better, than the 1073 chip? What are the difference?
*
Since you just need a basic player then get 1055 also cheaper. It's more energy saving and lesser heat compare to 1073 chip. 1055 should not have problem play 15+gb full 1080p hd mkv file. It's also often mentioned that 1055 can handle compressed MKV headers, which will be useful.

But do get from a better known brand/company since firmware support is important for these players.

actually Himedia HD600A (1185) also no fan, it works well and not that hot. However, if I put a HDD on top the temperature becomes too hot for my liking. Someone tested after playing SATA HDD after 10mins, the power used for HD600A with SATA HDD attached is <12W

I don't think plastic casing will be ideal for 1185 especially without fan. Himedia claims HD600B is also fanless cause they have a better design casing that helps distribute heat well. Still waiting for reviews to confirm there won't be any heat issue.

The comment I made regarding heat issue for 1185 is based of my 2 weeks with HD600A.

Oh..

Okay, my budget max is 200-400.
But I would prefer for 1055, since its more simpler.

For based on chip I saw below product selling on lowyat:
Datage R1055, AC Ryan Essential, and I also found Mede8er MED300X but couldnt found whose selling this in Malaysia.

For time being I'm intrested with MED300X as I saw the interface UI look nice  brows.gif , AC Ryan also nice, but I've read soo many complaint from their forum and make me scare to buy  rclxub.gif

Datage R1055 Selling 200Rm, AC Ryan selling around 315 same chipset, and which I dont know why this more expensive, probably the casing, hw, and software.

As I can see here, seems like everyone rarely using 1055, may I know why, as I think maybe because of the price only slightly differ ?

IMHO, as HDD getting cheaper and higher BB speed, the files we download gets bigger. think the next trend will be HDD docking, so USB 3.0 may be worth having.

but, 1055 havent use usb 3 yet, i think I'm okay with this, the thing is, i dont really need the lan/wifi, spp, etc... I only need to transfer and play only. But sadly its very rare to find 1055 sad.gif

Yes, but like this not quite good solution for me, as I have to put another electric cord, and I have to bring along all of them in 1 place which is more heavier.... sigh..... gosh, I wish someone here selling MED300x tongue.gif

Oh ya, next question, I saw 1055 chipset only have output composite ?

What is the difference between composite and component ?
I have very old tv and lcd tv, is composite can be use in all tv ? like crt ?

eh? HD200A is 1055 and have USB 3.0 & USB 2.0. But not very sure about how the composite and analog output works, try goto a shop and test it.^^ Actually if you willing to buy from China, there's another one can recommend, Kaiboer H1055 plus (this one is with 3.5" HDD mount)
