Yes, coming month would be exciting. Many new Sigma 864X players coming out from China & once it become as common as the realtek based players, price will come tumbling down.

I doubt it. Other then heat factor & also recording capability no difference from the RTD1073. As for HD Audio have to wait & see.

Well, hope the Realtek 1073X & 1283X is not going to be like the old Sigma issue with DTS, almost 1 year only can downmix. Seems Realtek says by June can Bitstream but nowadays the schedule always push back! Anyone want to take a risk with this new Realtek chipset player?

Just setup my Himedia 300A with new firmware from here http://bbs.himedia.com.au/index.php?board=5.0 & manage to watch Twilight on GouGou without any breakage on my Unifi, not HD but quality is better than normal TV. Does the rest of the Realtek has this Internet TV channel as well? There's some other channels also but did not really test it out yet because all in chinese.

Nowdays watching BDISO so all my old MKV no problem. But 300D is just 300A with a bigger casing & DVD so I think firmware should be same as 300 series.

The way you mentoned "kill" seems to say that it'll brick the player. But actual fact is it just won't play the new MKV rip using 4.2 & above. Until new firmware by realtek to address the issue if they come out, have to clean every file that have this problem. Guess so but just have to clean up the MKV everytime which would be a real hassle like what we did last time when Sigma chipset have problem with DTS support.

But Sigma lately don't have any new player? Or you may know more then me because lately did not really follow up on this.
