yea.. me too and I find 3.5" more reliable as well...

1. How long they can support firmware, even the model discontinue? After 1 year?
2. Our policy: Accessory defects replace on the spot. Main unit defects replace within 1 week, if stock available. Within 3 weeks if out of stock.

Btw, although the core is same but you cannot cross-fimware flashing. Pls read below link:

who's asking you to cross flash? each manufacturer has their own firmware support.. if you stick to the main brands (which some of them are selling here) it should be fine..

as for firmware support length of time.. well after 2-3years, just get a new media player.. important thing is dun spend 2x the amount and later get stuck with old chip and hardware... pay half price and change players every 2years is better than paying twice more now and stuck with it..

what';s the big deal about that.. doesn't concern 34H using china firmware..

I agree with you. But the fact is : Realtek giving a misleading fact. They thought that HD audio pass thru is easy but the fact is not. Currently Realtek is hacking their head on how to solve this problem. If new SDK can solve this outstanding problem, it will be great or else we are tuah tiao liao!!

then please refer to my comment, your PCH style firmware throw in longkang and replace whole unit with a new one not using PCH firmware

Hi, any multimedia player can support PPS now ?

I have a strong feeling this is just a common 'Buy Time' excuse used by Realtek. If after so many months they still can't deliver, I don't think HD audio will ever see the like of day. After March they will probably give another vague excuse until come a time when people just give up completely.

Even AC Ryan has lost confidence and no longer showing the True-HD and DTS-MA logo at their POHD website specifications.

some reported that early realtek units can work with HD audio passthro, even 1283 xtreamer can downmix TrueHD..

maybe this HD audio feature is locked for 1073.. 

dun say your 1283 is not as good as xtreamer in this aspect? cannot be mah..

sorry I dun really read mpc thread to rely on my purchases.. they recommend realtek players when the picture quality lose to sigma players by a large margin..
