Hi all,

jz my luck today, finally got a new game i wanted to play, and suddenly got hit by the famous 3ROD cry.gif

i followed the instructions on low yat and other websites and determined its an Error 19 (Unknown: GPU Error this is usually caused by bridged solder points where the GPU connects to the mainboard. )

my console is NOT modded, and was bought July 2008, which is still within the new 3 year warranty. im using an Xbox 360 elite, forgot how to check which Chip it is using~

now the thing is, i need advice on how to claim warranty for it.

Do i:
a. call up Singapore support and ship it there for warranty?
b. contact the shop i bought it from?
c. submit an online repair request (but Malaysia is not among the list they accept online repair requests)
d. forget warranty and use the repair services offered in this forum (which is the LAST option i wish to take as console is still under warranty)

i would appreciate some advice on procedures on claiming the warranty as well as i have nvr claimed warranty for my console before.

do help me!!!! i need advice!!! icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

if i am right...

get someone from sg to call their 1300 or 1800 number.. you cant call from here if im not mistaken.. get a RMA number.

They would then inform whoever is calling to bring their broken console in a specific date where you would trade for a working recond unit.

If not mistaken supplier or retailer whom u bought from would go through the same exercise so you decide which channels you wanna go to..

if your shop will assist you definately there are cost involve..

cheapest solution is get someone to get the rma number and u take a bus down for a day trip

thank you for the quick reply.

but i have one other question for you,
QUOTE
where you would trade for a working recond unit.
does this mean i will get a recond unit (permanently) instead of havin my current xbox 360 repaired? or will i have to go back n get my original xbox360 after its been repaired?

also,
say i were to get the RMA, go down for a day trip to trade, when i go to the office to send my console in, will they ask for personal details? like my 'Singapore' address or my IC number/card?

i jz wish to cover all angles here so that i dont screw this up~

thx for ur help!

I did this claim before and it's pretty hard if you don't have a friend or siblings in Singapore. You can't make the call here as you need someone in singapore to make the call for you. You must first send a complain through xbox.com/singapore and wait for a service number. You then need your friends/ siblings to help you call and register under their address. After all this stuff is done. Just wait for them to notify you when you can go and pick up your refurbish xbox360. Its a one to one exchange so you don't have to wait. ( I am not sure if there is a new way, I just did it last year. )

* Easier way *

Send to gamershideout and they will handle all the procedure for you **

For those of you who wish to cancel account, claim warranty and cancel your credit card on your Xbox Live Acount, now you can call Xbox Customer Support in Singapore direct. The number is (02) 6622-1626. I have call them last week regarding my gamertag can't recover. Go for it guys/girls. Now this is good news. Make sure your console is not transexual or modded for warranty claim.

thanks for the info, but correct me if im wrong but i thought because Xbox is not officially launched in Malaysia, we cannot claim the warranty? tats y alot of ppl go though the hassle of getting a singpore address etc...

but i guess the bottom line is:
1. which will be faster? calling ourselves and shipping it to singapore for warranty claim or sending it to Gamerhideout?
2. Which be cheaper? not sure if GH sends console by bulk so shipping charges r lower?

thanx for all the info n help all!

Yes. Indeed Xbox 360 is not official launch in Malaysia. But however, Singapore has currently release a landline. So you can call them. Tell them your problem of the hardware failure. and bring your console to singapore to get a replacement. Simple as that.

To Tag. Yes. you need a valid singapore address.

Dude, this problem is due to your old firmware modification cannot bypass new game's protection and not related to system update as microsoft do not allow you to play RM8 games, they're illegal~!

You're not allowed to talk anything about illegally modified consoles or games. Please halt all your relevant conversation before someone knock you with ban hammer.
