QUOTE(jep @ Dec 1 2009, 05:14 PM) School holiday somemore...haissshhh...too bad for working people unless they're willing to gamble their 1/2 day to get the promo (if it's true)...huhu Firstly, if one cannot wait, what better opportunity is there presently? Secondly, if he/she wants one 'desperately' enough, again, is there any other alternative other than to wait it out? Thirdly, the promo is until Saturday. Therefore one can go then unless he/she is working which means the person has to plan his/her schedule provided of course he/she cannot wait/is desperate enough. And lastly, if he/she is so then isn't it worth the gamble as you put it but the gamble is not whether there is a promo there but whether you are there in time to get a unit from the inventory.

QUOTE(amyhs99 @ Dec 1 2009, 11:01 PM) lol....this is my 17 days of waiting period...really hope can get as soon as possible before Christmas...but feel quite dissapointed after read all the review... I have said earlier....you cannot base your waiting period on all the rantings unless someone who also ordered from the same centre as yours, know specifically what is your waiting list no. after he/she has collected, meaning you will know then when yours is due for collection gauging from his/her no. and waiting period, albeit with a little reservation. So, don't despair first but an advice is, instead of waiting for their call/sms, follow up diligently. In that manner, you just might get a faster response. QUOTE(midnite_angel @ Dec 13 2009, 02:37 PM) Just put in a booking for 3gs at the Maxis Centre at Gardens yesterday and was informed that I need not pay RM200 deposit anymore. Maxis said that I might be able to get it within a week even though the KLCC branch said it's more like 45 days. But I'm not in a hurry or anything so it's all good! It's good that you need not pay the deposit but how sure are you that your unit is actually reserved? Did they give you a receipt or some sort of confirmation?

QUOTE(midnite_angel @ Dec 13 2009, 07:36 PM) Well, they can't really issue a receipt since I haven't actually paid anything. But I do have a booking form with all the relevant details. I guess I will know within the next 2 weeks if everything is in order! Will update on the progress. Apparently, they have stopped taking deposits in the past couple of weeks as they are trying to push sales before the end of the year. But I'm not sure if this is specific to Gardens or all Maxis centres elsewhere. Hmmm... What is important is that you have some sort of confirmation in writing and that's what I was trying to stress. Added on December 14, 2009, 5:48 amQUOTE(itanium @ Dec 13 2009, 11:46 PM) Yesterday and today we cleared combined 16gs w/32gs b/32gs w more than 60 units. Customers didnt believe we had EX_STOCK and sold at rm2490/2990....why ppl still buying them with contract? hahahaha. Could it be that yours are not officially unlocked sets? QUOTE(javtan @ Dec 14 2009, 01:46 PM) Sorry, may I know how long will maxis replace a faulty iPhone 3gs.Thanks! That obviously is very much dependent on the inventory and the waiting lists of the new purchasers.

QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Dec 14 2009, 09:03 PM) oh come on, are you still in nursery school? sikit sikit mau become hostile? that bloke was merely asking you a simple question. Thanks not just you Nok, for the defense but the others as well who came out to voice their concern. I was not asking a question but making an observation but what he doesn't realize is that I was giving him a very good opportunity to sell his wares better by merely advising that his are all the real deal, since he did not initially. But instead, he went and flew off his rocker. Well, that is what the world is coming to with such types of people. Instead fo analysing before rebutting, they just make it worse for themselves in the eyes of others.

@Hanxz I have resolved not to partake in protracted 'debates' in forums with people who are just too stubborn to see the forest for the trees or think they are never wrong.
The comment that he made is a case in point where he said that the iPhone sells by itself. The statement by itself is not wrong but since there are so many (re)sellers, one has to promote his own sales. But what baffles me or makes me rofl is that what started this 'row' was the fact that he 'advertised' his stock for sale. So, by making the foregoing statement is actually a slap in his own face.
But alas, let us not bother ourselves with such foolhardy people. We have better things to do. Cheers mate.

To Whom It May Concern
Please be advised that mobile phones sold in Malaysia are all unlocked and that is the legal bind to all telcos. Likewise for the iPhones.
As to the locked sets, from what I digested after one of the forummers posted, he was not alluding to that the iPhones are locked per se. What he was saying, which I personally doubt Maxis can do it (but who knows, I could be totally wrong), is that Maxis barred the changing of the APN so that whoever buys the iPhone must only use a Maxis SIM for data purposes. For voice calls and the like, one could still use SIMs from other service providers.
I hope those concerned are now informed but if anyone knows any differently, I can stand corrected.

QUOTE(butterflydarling @ Dec 22 2009, 04:34 PM) is there anyway that i can set my phone settings so it doesnt route to using my 3g when i am actually on wifi? I dont want shocking and killer telephone bills. Jailbreak your phone. Install SB Settings. From there disable functions like 3G, Edge which will meet your purpose.

QUOTE(S E K A I @ Jan 7 2010, 07:25 PM) simply said, as long as there's a warranty for u to claim, then go for it Your advice is not quite prudent. Even though warranty may still be valid, it is an imported unit meaning it could be from as far away as the US of A and iPhone warranty can only be made in the country of origin. Therefore, do you think it is wise to purchase that just to save a couple of hundred ringgit? And this is not to take into account that it may not be an officially unlocked unit which gives added headaches.
