just now Maxis called me about the inquiry of iPhone using Hotlink Prepaid.. They said they cannot provide a date that will reallow outright purchase, maybe next year.. or maybe longer, they just don't know the time, because of the high demand of iphone in Malaysia, so.. they cannot provide any related information to us.. and just ask me check Maxis web from time to time >.<

Anyway heard from an owner of an MEP that iphone is not lacking in stock as what Maxis made out to be. In fact, there will be more stocks coming in soon...although he didn't sound very convinced about the plans and the phone itself....makes me think twice about getting one.

Hope this is good news to some ppl....but what plays our in reality may be different as this is a suggestion that Maxis is holding back stock to create interest in the phone when it might be dwindling.....

Meaning.. outright purchase might happen anytime soon? xD

No business entity is silly enough not to release the stock when it is available. Especially not if they want to sustain interest in the product. I personally believe Maxis is adopting the JIT(Just in Time) mode of holding stock. However, either their planning is askewed or they just do not want to over commit, hence the current stock predicament.

Added on November 20, 2009, 1:18 pmIMHO, no, as there is still some demand for the i3GS and Maxis would still want to ride on this wave and get as many iV plans signed up as possible. There is where they actaully earn the bulk of their money.

Added on November 20, 2009, 3:26 pmi booked mine on 18th Oct n was told that i have to wait 30-40 days..then on 6th Nov i called up n they said my phone is ready just need to process...coz port in from celcom..if i din call then i wouldnt even know i can collect the phone already. got the phone on 8th Nov

how come still have to wait so long to get iphone 3gs? I thought there are a lot of 3gs promo and competition. Like CIMB free iphone 3gs (a lot of units) and so on.

Then where do they get those phone? Already people waiting in queue, they still want to do competition/promo for what?
