Thanks for that reply, Michael! I thought I remembered reading how someone said Subang Jaya's branch is good too. Cos I stay nearby there. But when I tried to search the forum, all the results on "Subang Jaya Service Centre' is about how they steal things.  sad.gif So I got scared. Maybe those posts are long ago, and now the SC is better? Hmmm. I will visit the one near Jalan Templer first, then maybe next time I might try the one in Subang Jaya too. smile.gif

well actually i left my smart tag on the car no problem at all maybe they had a bad day??? haha... hard to say every where also, pls keep your valuables that is the advice from SA also...

use 195/55 R15 enough lo... what you want??? better grip??? then throw away those cheapo tires... CC1 is never been good... tires category is not depend on the brand but the performance level...
on the road you can see Dunlop D-01, BS MY-01, Sime and others local made... those are only normal tires...
try Hankook V12, Yokohama S Drive, Toyo T1R or DRB, Michelin PS3 Federal 595 Evo... those are much better tire compare to CC1... don misunderstand, CC-1 is not really sucks but it is not suitable for ppl whom drive spiritedly... i got 1 set of CC-1 on my old toy, when compare to my Vios (same gen as urs) tire it sucks, coz i'm on PS3 a UHP/Max Performance tires where it is at least 2 step higher in category than CC1...

cheers...

well depends... Hankook V12 about RM200~220, then S Drive, T1R, DRB, 595 Evo and PS3 is in the region of RM250... so ur choice... i had use V12 b4 nice tire with a lil of comfort... other tire with a lil comfort is T1R and DRB... other than that mostly other's tire sidewall is a lil on hard side...
if you want handling u will never have comfort, of course the other way round also same handling will never be good if you are on comfort tire wink.gif

haah next time when you wanna buy comfort tire then you will know what you loose from PS3.... if we compare the BS RE080 that they supply in stock it is beat it easily, even the older gen or E/J Spec NCT5...

guys you have not really experience it yet as been told by some sifu, their PS3 bite even more after 5k km... and 1 of them used 50% already he say it's traction is even greater from the start... most of us are surprise by the feedback, but after i use more than 2 months already i know what they are talking about... i have yet to test out more recently but eager to do so, hopefully i'm going out for a round of testing this weekend...

well SC they did not only change ur absorber but mounting and others suspension bushing also to prevent the problem reoccurs again in near future...
but i suspect the sound not from the front, sometimes from the rear also coz my SEG also have this problem last time... mostly cause by bushing not the absorber as per x-Toyota SC Foreman said... he changed my rear bushing if not mistaken 2 pair of rubber, done without any sound at all already... so hard to say if those ppl say is suspension problem...

*if you ask service center to list out the items they will tell you each individual stiff pricing and also the labor charges also smile.gif absorber if not mistaken is only about RM400/pair then the rest is bushing about RM500 for the fronts... my fren asked about 2 months ago, they mention it consist of 6 pair of rubbers..

I sent my vios for inspection this morning. When the report was out, they asked me to change the whole absorber system, that cost RM2000 including labour. Anyway, I managed to buy the front absorber set at Jalan Ipoh this afternoon only for RM320/pair. Besides that, my engine also vibrate strongly when in D mode. Advise to change the mouting. Toyota quoted me RM550 but I managed to buy at RM300.
*
well is up to you... that is what my fren told me, u fix outside any small problem anyone rectify for you with FOC??? SC u can screw then kau kau then ask them to replace again... if not mistaken Absorber got short period of warranty from SC but outside don think about it thats all lo...

it is very individual preference, yes it might be RM200 difference in total but u must remember SC know better than outside ppl, they have proper equipment to do things than outside no matter how advance if the 3rd party workshop... Toyota is using customized tools from Toyota JP for their SC, so all the bolts and nuts wear and tear is lower down to minimum but outside they use 3rd party which sometimes it might have good fit with the screw... that is a SC retiree told me back in my hometown, last time my SEG top overhaul he did it nicely done and saw a lot of special tools from Toyota...

QUOTE(eddie89 @ May 28 2010, 06:33 PM)
Hi guys,

My 2008 Vios G stock tire (Bridgestone) is wearing out, any recommendation?

I read the thread and found out V12 and PS3.

which tire is more quiet? Because Vios sound proofing is not good.

Thanks!
*
the size i recommend u is 195/55 R15 and if you look for normal tires then Falken 912 is the one for you smile.gif
when you wan better handling the Michelin PS3 is better smile.gif but a lot of performance tire does not give you the quietness tat you enjoy on comfort tire...

QUOTE(one leg kicking @ May 28 2010, 09:36 PM)
I have been using PS3 for 1month on my Vios, car is more grippy and quieter compared to stock Bridgestone tires on all conditions
1 thing I find out strange is uphill Genting highlands after heavy rain, PS3 looses a lot grip at low temperature. Anyone experience that before?
My G spec around RM0.12 to RM0.15 per km. it depends on how u drive
*
not facing this problem maybe ur suspension not ur tire problem, suspension too soft also might affect the handling and grip...
just now from Penang back to Ipoh raining heavily no problem at alll reach Ipoh very heavy rain still ok woh... if your suspension is stock, PS3 will improve the handling but at corner the grip does not only depend on the tires but suspension system also....

is like that what ever tire u use also same

QUOTE(Dickong @ May 30 2010, 07:30 PM)
Hi, my car seems to consume more petrol after changing from the original 185/60/15 tp ps3 195/55/15. initially its about 0.155/km 80 city n 20 highway but now 0. 167/km, is it becos of the tyre grip or something else, anyone with this experience.

Added on May 30, 2010, 7:32 pm
Nothing u can do except change to new one, i have this problem before on my perdana.
*
yes u will have more rolling resistance since it is a performance tires and it stick to ground more than normal tires... then secondly i would recommend u to put at least 33~34 PSI in ur tires, yes by this u might felt slightly loose of comfort but u gain on better FC and also handling...

QUOTE(one leg kicking @ May 31 2010, 12:57 PM)
I got my front left chamber replaced when I change to Michelin PS3 recently. Yeah, front tires eat 1 side. luckily no burst. Service center didn't do anything although millage already passed 33k+
*
for all the ppl that complaint about tire thread "Makan 1 side"
1st i had the same problem with urs, coz most of the Tire problem they sub it out to others shop so better u bring to the shop urself... so my alignment was not properly done and i screw the SC with proper computer report from my alignment shop... luckily his alignment machine has a printer...

2ndly u cannot rely on the shop on this, again i would stress wheel's misalignment might cause by a lot of way, potholes, bumps and others also... so we couldn't say much on this and we need to monitor ourselves as tire is highly tear and wear items... check the tire pressure and also thread wear weekly that might helps...

lastly... when u check ur pressure please do it in the morning and make sure u did not move ur car more than 1km to the nearest petrol kiosk... coz it will affect the tire pressure inside, according to Michelin u need to add in 2PSI if you drive more than 1km to ur destination to check ur tire pressure... and the further u go the tires will get more hotter and the pressure inside the tire is not that stable... *** tire pressure recommended is the Tire's COLD Temperature means the air pressure is more stabilize...

that is my single cents and u might not agree with it,we must do ur part on checking the tire's thread and also car condition periodically smile.gif

sorry for you, but i have never did this b4 woh... sorry no experience on this situation...

@Luckyfield,
you can go either 1 if you want... but for normal service better you change ur engine oil every 6 months even though u never reach the mileage coz my fren say u never know what happen after 6 months on the engine oil, it is more chemical now u it's properties will change after sometime u start to use it... smile.gif
advisable if you really low mileage u can service using normal engine oil, if gives you 5k km or 6 months from ur last service... if not u better use full-syn that give you 10k km or 6 months from ur last service...

QUOTE(kahjye @ Jun 2 2010, 11:02 PM)
guys , 3rd service is at 15k millege or 20k? yawn.gif

my fuel consumption is very bad..
pump rm70 ron97 on 14942...then the first fuel bracket gone after 40 kilometres...damn? my right foot aint heavy...damn damn damn vios!
*
well where do you drive always??? ur working route??? it is a lot of jam and a lot of up hills???
then pls do not rev ur car during the pickup, is ur foot that affected it if you do like that and all rev maintain at 3k RPM... light foot does not means save FC coz if you wanna travel at 60km/h and ur foot still pressing excessively then ur engine will rev also and it will burn ur fuel... what is ur RPM during cruising (*with ur foot on the pedal) if it is the same/almost the same after u release then it is ok but if it is more than 300RPM then u need to watch out ur foot my fren smile.gif
learn how to control ur right foot up to the optimum level excessive rev is not good for your FC... VVT-i give you good good FC if you control it well but if your engine keep on rev at higher rev than it should be then you will not able to do so...

*Hint, learn until ur have quite and smooth engine when you are cruising no extra engine revving sound can hear when you are cruising... excessive rev sound means u not asking the engine to add more speed not cruising... the engine sound at cruising should be almost the same with you stop at a junction or any place, then ur engine running at idle speed (800 RPM)

duno whether you will understand or not but if you can meet up with me i can show u it sounds like...

guys and also some advice, pls use RON97 when you wanna travel a lot at highway that is more efficient... those are test by UMW (not UMW Toyota) staff as per feedback... and i tried it already yes at cruising speed 120km/h it can give you 200km for 2 bar (from full tank)... i did from Ipoh (Ipoh Garden) to USJ...

wiper??? haha SC selling only rubber, pls support them to save more green... all the metal need to be scrap if you buy after market and i feel that the ori once is more lasting also of course not compare to the silicon but quite worth it... 1 pair of wiper rubber can last for 1 yr++, at least for me...
about RM30 thats all from SC... go there and tell them they will do it on the spot, my mum did it once but i only ask them to change when it is not good already during my service...
