Haha u must be recommending Michelin PS3? tongue.gif
*
PS3 is good but for ppl that want comfort i still ask them to give Yokohama E501/C Drive or Falken 912 a try...
these is more comfort but PS3 more to ppl that want to have fun or a lot of outstation driving... and aggressive driving sometime...

Called my SA asking whether can I change my vios 2010 color he said it'll delay the delivery so better not, will stick with back by then.

Anyway what's the cost of original TRD Sportivo kit from Toyota themselve, included paint and installation, just wanna compare before I decide to take those PU one out there by myself.

Any bro appreciate can give some reference price for the below which I decided to do when I got my car -
1) 15" Sport rim with 195/55/15 tyre
2) TRD Sportivo Kit with paint and installation
3) Fog lamp
4) Tinting (normal type)
5) Door Visor

Cheers,
Charles
*
1) 15" Sport rim with 195/55/15 tyre
Prepare RM1.8k at least for buffer... the rim cost is around RM1400 (nice one), of course u can get RM700 1 set also... and tires should be around RM1000 for 4 tires... so depends how much u can get for your 14" rims and tires...

2) TRD Sportivo Kit with paint and installation
there is a lot of body kits out there hard to say... from RM1k to RM3k depends what you want...

3) Fog lamp
if not mistaken it cost you about RM600 including installation...

4) Tinting (normal type)
i did a few time (of course few cars la...) AirCool 80++% for all windows and rear screen, front 90++% around RM800 (SEG, Iswara, Avanza, Wira)

5) Door Visor
well for me it is useless... smile.gif so not sure...

Guys, I am getting my new baby this Thursday, G spec , white colour...still thinking which tint to use, money is not that an issue..only thing is I need to have a good look after tinting.

Which brand you recommend ?

Hv checked V-cool elite and 3M crystaline, V-cool looks green and 3M looks grey..which one more matching with white colour body huh ??

Help me plsss!!

Cheers.
*
for me i like black color tinting... smile.gif i think Air Cool have this color about 85% of heat reflect... should be around RM500~600 only...
if swap the normal front windscreen that they give (come with package) to top range 95% heat reflect, should be around RM900... installed on SEG and Avanza like it a lot... my Vios tinting provided by SC sucks... might change later after 5 yr already...

V-Kool or 3M how much it is???

QUOTE(ARCH ANGEL 7 @ Apr 14 2010, 05:45 AM)
i feel it last 3month ... lost power n bad FC..thought im perasan only leh but then FC drop from 450km to 320km...hard to reach 110kph n is like draging... is usual to b very ez to reach 160kph
send to SC to check sensor but it seem all are fine... i dont think is the size of the rim(17) cos i change it the day i got the car.... mb the KnN filter pasal..
what u guys think???
experience this b4????
*
might be actually Vios is quite ok already if you want to mod u better do some survey 1st coz something might not give you the performance u wanted... thats y if u bother about FC better keep it stock even tires also 17" sweat.gif sure u did not follow the 3% rules (compare to stock size) that the world tires manufacturer recommended...

bro as i said.. the rim i change the very day i got my car!!! i have been driving the car for almost a year now.. only the last 2-3month the FC really bad...
the filter is new standard 1 cos i need to check izzit the filter that cos it... suspect KnN filter cos i change it around that time... when change back to normal filter ,got back the torq pick up but reaching 110 onward is like dragging, hard to reach 120km n above...
17" rim i still manage to get 450km.(city driving)
oh ya my mileage is 2xk now
*
1st i notice that but do you change any tire recently???? just to remind u that got affect the FC also... depends what tire you are using... as you said that period the mod u did is on the Air Filter then try to use back the Ori and see...

My new G Vios already arrived today to the showroom, hopefully tmrw it wl be in my hands after the registration.
Just checked the tires- they are Bridgestone 185/55 R15.

Tire seems ok, they are bulky enough and holds well to the ground, so I like it, I wl drive few months on this set and change to some other tire later.
*
er... it is 185/60 R15 la... odd size BS ER33 isn't it??? it got look but performance sad.gif sad to say it is not up to performance tire expectation, same case as last time when they fitted NCT5 on the NCP42....

V-Kool and 3M is way over priced try Air Cool... 3 cars using it and happy with it...

When the last time u clean ur filter? By 40k km u need to clean k&n filters
I did, when in highways i get 15km/l++ easily, while on city driving should get 13-14km/l++.
That should be Bridgestone Potenza RE080?
Since when toyota uses ER030? blink.gif
*
haha Camry uses ER33 if not mistaken sorry too many model and most of their ER model is not up to Performance expectation... so did not even peek at it... tongue.gif

haha around RM210~250... that is what i know klang my fren jus bought RM215/pc 4 pcs... not including alignment
but i bought mine at RM230 including everything, but mine in PJ no need to travel to klang for tire change haha... smile.gif
RM100 is too low, 1st it might coz by the odd size, 2nd it is not that good... some ppl say very good already but when u use other performance tire u will say yucks it slip...

QUOTE(kazami @ Apr 14 2010, 08:37 PM)
u got a good mileage...
i cant get tat much for city driving...
always need highway to help me get tat much..
vios tire ER 080...
quite cheap for ps3..

just now went to check up my balancing and front alignment and do some tire rotation
the mech told me tat my chamber abit out of the normal setting..
ask me to put chamber adjuster and adjust it..
cost me RM80 per adjuster... for front need 2
i refuse and only do alignment, balancing and rotation...
when he test drive, he said my tire abit not balance due to the chamber setting which is out and also can listen to tire sound inside the car..

i saw PS3 over there, it cost Rm240++ per piece... include alignment, balancing or other thing.. they never tell me..
but this is the price at klang... cause im from klang...to get cheaper tires... go to jalan kapar... they offer more variety..
*
well bro hard to say coz my part of City drive is not same with you and most of the ppl are different, jam, traffic lights, bumps, slopes or should i say all stop and go situation affect the FC consumption and also ur right foot/driving style... sudden pickup affect FC a lot too... just as i told in other thread my SEG (when i'm in PG) i used about 350km~400km per full tank but when i let my gf use it for 1 day i jaw felt like dropping... she can use more than 1/4 tank a day about 50% more than mine...

tire price Jln Kapar shop is cheaper but again u need to see how lo, PS3 price at RM240 is a lil high side as i can get RM230 at PJ with all included (valves, balancing and alignment) further more then didn ot ask me to change chamber nut where quite some numbers of shop asked me to... Chamber nut change is just another gimmick as my old time sifu from Ipoh told me if you did not have accident that affect the front side mostly they will not run away too much.. and also they can adjust it sometime no need those adjustable one... haha..

Hin Leong staff a little lansi when i asking, doubt workmanship not so good as a lot of cars inside.
Ban Hooi staff more nice to talk...but not sure the workmanship.

any suggestion?many thanks
*
well for me i go for Ban Hooi or Hock Li... Hin Leong don really like the workman ship... always ask you to change chamber nut sweat.gif

Hi all Vios Kaki...
I got 1set original Vios TRD Sportivo Rim want to sell including tyre Bridgestone MY01 195/50/15 98% new,and Rim only 1month old!
Reason to sell : want to upgrade to 16" or 17" Rim.
anyone have interesting or question just sms or call me!
Jun 0122051403
Thank you
*
OM me how much u wanna sell might be interested if ok... but u can throw away the tires i don want that i need only rims MY01 is useless performance tire (tration only rated B!!!!), compare to Falken 912 which is comfort performance it also cannot math the traction or should i say only on par with it can't even imagine compare to others like which have traction AA that i has been using sweat.gif

QUOTE(papaya2 @ Apr 15 2010, 10:05 PM)
after start blinking, i can travel more 25km and try it at many time already. However i dont want to take risk go more further than 25km
u can try see what is the limit can go further if u keep spare petrol in yr car.
*
i did that more than it b4... actually if you calculate properly it still has about 50km of petrol in it... smile.gif

michael9413, Thanks my friend, didn't go to PJ, change the tires in Cheras ( Jln. Sg. Besi )near the tint shop, they took my OEM tires ( Potenza ) for each 100/- and new one was 260/- with alignment and balancing. I didn't bargain..went ahead.
I like the new PS3 tires...as you said good comfort and handling. Thanks for your recommendation!!! wub.gif

By the way for the tint, I went ahead with 3M Crystalline VLT 60% for the entire car except front windscreen, total was only 1050/- with 5 yrs warranty. This 3M film has the charcoal color shade and it really suits the white body. also check 3M Crystalline VLT 70 %...but it was tooooo light (It has a light purple shade ) so went ahead with VLT 60%. Workshop guys did a good job - nothing to complain! also took 3M floor mat's for the entire car. cost 120/-

For the body kit, went to Subang, I ordered it earlier... but now found the colour was not maching...need to wait until they repaint. Cost 1500/- inclusive all...it is the GT version ABS kit from Thailand.
They had painted white as per the previous color code of the old vios, but seems new vios white color is different a bit.
but still.......I do not recommend this shop..so much of hassle for following up etc and furthermore still rear spoilor has not arrived from thier supplier..crazy!! rclxub.gif  vmad.gif  mad.gif

However - Overall I am happy with my new baby, done 150+ km already. so much comfort inside the cabin, may be bcos of the oak color interior..I can feel it bcos I drove a Proton till yesterday!! furthermore I feel the body size also bigger than the other Vios on the road!!! rclxm9.gif

Now I am a proud owner of the New Vios!!!!!!! Thanks to all the guys for exchanging idea's to make a good buy. thumbup.gif
I booked this car in February first week, and worth the wait!!

( to end - Sill sad bcos no HUD and push start and Aux, but happy with the leather seats!! )

Cheers.
*
cheers... glad that you like it, as it improved the grip and handling of the car a lot... while it still manage to maintain a lil of comfort..

QUOTE(travis_ckf @ Apr 16 2010, 09:15 AM)
Actually back then i test drove a test drive unit with the TRD sportivo suspension and i have to say i impressed. Handling improved alot while comfort wasn't badly sacrificed. But still for that price u can easily opt for good adjustable suspension.
*
well bro... ask bro Vios for suggestion as he changed his set already, or u can setup a TT where he will attend he is glad to give you a drive around... smile.gif

well there is a lot of place and shops can go but all u need is patient and survey... smile.gif take 2 weeks to survey around b4 u change then u can get better choice and also price also...

bro McRyan, it is up to you but as we has been telling you 14" tire is quite limited in choice and also quality... but if you just need comfort and don mind the performance of the tire u can go back to 14" if you like... a lot ppl say Dugong with 15" also sampan already (for me a lil over of comfort), i wonder y still wanna use softer tire... haha

just done change my vios 4 tyres PS3 195/55/15 at Jalan Kapar - Hock Li tyre shop, cost me RM 207.5 per pcs + RM30 for 4 iron valve + RM15 alignment, end up total cost RM875.

The alignment man advise to change chamber nuts as like normal tyre shops, then blar blar...finally i'm not going to change both front nuts, he offer RM40 per nut and say Vios's nuts is bigger wor.

sometime very hard to believe the alignment machine if first they not put properly of the align device attached to the tyre for measurement.

what yr comment if any, Thanks

nice deal... the chamber nut myth again do not trust them... smile.gif that is my fren whom selling alignment machine telling...

Report in,

VIOS 2006 face lifted - Black owner.

Plan to change PS 3 195/55/15" also, still looking for nice shop around PJ/Damansara area, any recommendation?

Btw, is the new launch TRD body kit, able to fit in a 2006 version, or there is a similar body kit for older version VIOS? That body kit look nice, does it look good with 15" Rim or i need to upgrade to 17"?

Thanks
*
i'll PM u the contact... smile.gif bro Papaya also changed already...
frankly speaking as tire size of 205/45 R17 is just in the 3% rules, but it is not recommended to change to 17" and 16" coz the good tires at this size will cause you more than 50% that you are enjoying on 15" rims... eg PS3 in 195/55 R15 is around RM220~250 but in 16" & 17" wheels it is around RM400 if not mistaken... same as others like Hankook V12 where 195/55 R15 is around RM200 and in 16" and 17" wheels it is around RM300 and above already...
2ndly the ride comfort will be affected by the change and FC might be affected also... so it is ur choice...

its ok to be water fish... every 1 sure got 1 or 2 time kena...

as long as dont rush in to buying something....

If you looking for performance & comfort go for 15" u will be surprise with the performance.

price for ps3  15" is between 230~250 but for 16" saw some member post price at 400...

some time getting rims and tire in the same shop the deal maybe mix cheap rim expensive tire or expensive rim with cheap tire...

for the rim the best deal i know for 15" is less then 1k per set ....and 17" per set will be less then 2K...go window shopping tire shop... get some idea 1st...
*
+1... 16" tire is at least RM50~100 more expensive than 15" tire (compare Hankook V12 Evo at 16" and 15".... for other tires like Michelin PS3, Bridgestone RE001 or others higher end tires u can see more significant price difference (more than RM100 sometime)

+1 if you have nothing to say please get off... thanks... here is for Vios discussion...

we agree tat Forte is cheap and looks good but the reliability is still a big question mark of course the others point that bro Travis said also... if u can survey properly a Vios only cost you about RM70k (After convert from Aus Dollar) including their tax and stuff but ours is RM90k with 30k tax how about others RM60k for cars??? there is another RM20k for UMW or their ppl pocket $$$, FYI some middle east selling Vios at RM50k only... tongue.gif and of course our Waja or Personal at RM40k only (Full Spec)

change to TITAN sure no regrets (i'm using TITAN in my wira), u get what u pay... summore with michelin PS3, but u know right TITAN also hv normal abs n spring for OEM replacement? most their luxury car customers use that, its serviceable n comfort with a bit lowered compare standard..

actually, potenza re080 is not that grip tyre, just ok with less noise tyre..
*
that Potenza RE080 is not that grippy and it does not carries the performance range like others Potenza series... disappointed... MY-01 (traction B) by BS is another bad tire, but u can see a lot of ppl using coz it carries the name of BS...

huge does not means it is UMW branch smile.gif FYI there is a lot of franchised 3S center now... so better go back to those own by UMW Toyota or Toyotsu... better...

QUOTE(jameslee84 @ Apr 22 2010, 09:52 PM)
i see u guys discuss about ps3 15" so i wondering.. erm
is tat much different wit 15" n 16" using same ps3 tire? other than ps3 which tire will do comfort+performance?

i go for some shop asking price after trade in my ori rim+tire they say still nid to pay around 1.5k if im gonna take 16"
erm... any idea or recommend?
*
well bro 15" and 16" tires has a huge gap.. PS3 15" is around RM250 (promo rate) but 16" is around RM400, RM150 different....
even Hankook V12 195/55 R15 is around RM200 but 16" is around RM280...
but of course 16" give you better grip in the corners, still it depends what tire u wanna use... comfort level of course 195/55 R15 will give you better ride now as bumpy as 16" (205/50 R16 or 205/45 R16)... if you buy light weight rims i think ur engine still able to move the wheels without extra effort but it will give you some contrast performance too like FC might be higher, slower Acceleration, increase of tire noise, poorer hydroplaning resistance.... of course those points is a bit subjective to individuals but i see not much value to increase ur tire and rim size to 16", same as my older model....
same goes to the suspension system, individual preference, like bro Vios2002's lowered ride and paired with 195/55 R15 tires working nicely with the Titan shocks and lowered front spring also... and i like my stock NCP42R suspension setup cos i don want sitffer ride, but i might upgrade it in d future to lowered the ride (better handling) but try to retain the ride comfort...
if you pair ur wheels and suspension system nicely i don see any floating sampan at all smile.gif

This part i dont agree with u, Acceleration is better then stock if 15" or 16" use forged wheel compare to stock is using 15" cast wheels... this due to u need less energy to move = more faster respond ... tire noise and hydroplaning is  depend on tire not rims ...

there are stock member ride coming too... just meet new friends...
Main idea of this TT is convoy drive together and NOT RACE TO THE PEAK But if got member do that we cant stop it too Safety come 1st.

of course he depends on the rim weight also but... tire noise most of the tire in 16" lower profile and u tends to go for directional thread then it noise should be more incomfort lo.... further more then new Vios noise insulation is not good leh... hydroplaning is not good at all if the tire u purchase not good i agree on this but again if that ppl wanna have good look but not install a proper tire then no meaning... don tell me u are not driving fast, over 80km/h is fast already... if any ppl wanna have 16" and 17" and install those entry level tire like Yokohama A Drive or A Drive R1, Falken 912, Sime Synergy XXXX and others la... it is just stupid coz those tire will not give you proper hydroplaning resistance and and traction when u need it...

just wanna voice out here, but i know a lot of ppl don like wat i say but if you wanna change to bigger wheels then expect to pay more don tell me if that time i got no $$$ to change tire... a 15" tire s 16" tire price is a huge gap, the difference is from RM80/pc up to RM200/pc...
old example is the Hankook V12 195/55 R15 is RM200 and 205/50 R16 is around RM280, Yokohama S Drive 195/55 R15 is around RM250 but 205/50 R16 is around RM320.. worst for some tire like Michelin PS3 195/55 R15 is around RM250 now and 205/50 R16 is around RM400 now
my advice is think b4 u wanna change...

Hi there, I'm seeking some advice. I'm going for second service for my car, first service is 1K, current mileage is 6K.

I've used toyota motor oil RM61.20 in the first service, is that the mineral oil ppl referring to? I've read in few discussion where using full syn is good for the new car, should i op for full syn in this second service? or continue to use toyota motor oil RM61.20 for another 5K?

Is all the full syn oil last for 10K? for each 5K it is compulsory we need to change the oil filter right?
