QUOTE(triad @ Nov 17 2009, 01:01 PM) vios 04 reporting in. Welcome, added u inside the listjust done 40k service last month. car still superb. btw thinking to change tyre. is 195 55 R15 do any good than 185 55 R15? Added on November 17, 2009, 1:03 pmowh btw i just found out that city 04 using cobra alarm also but cant open boot using remote.only vios can do tht. Added on November 17, 2009, 1:05 pmforgot to mention.mine is plain G spec with no modification. no money to upgrade coz already plan for wedding long time ago. money save=can marry, money not save=marry with car.huhu For me i rather pick 195 as wider tyres means better traction while on the road. Also it doesnt cost as much as going for 16-17 inch upgrade. |

I already replaced mine this year for free. The newer remote and immobiliser are more sturdy than the old ones albeit looking the same. This post has been edited by igor_is300: Nov 18 2009, 04:54 PM |

QUOTE(travis_ckf @ Nov 13 2009, 05:51 PM) 3 solutions for u: Answer to ur solution1. Blast the music in ur car louder. I always do that 2. Put some ear plugs into ur ear 3. Sell off ur vios and get a mercedes/lexus/bentley. That shall do the trick Sorry for my sarcasm but i cant help it when u cant stand the noise like most general cars. 1. If u louder the music n mix v the noise.... u will get mad easily. 2. I think tis is not feasible. 3. I'm comparing apple to apple. New n old vios is very much diff in cabin noise. I'm not compraing to luxury car. General cars wont give u such a noise as new vios is general known as poor in sound insulation. I went Toyota few times n they just act like they duno. So i ask them for a ride n listen on it. They say it is tyre noise (also so called external noise) penetrate into the cabin n tis model is liddat. So my next qs will be why old vios dun have such a noise. Toyota mechanic just smile n say nothing. By the way I'm preparing to spend like rm1-2k for sound proofing which can truly reduce the cabin noise to the level same as old vios but not mercedes/lexus/bentley which we know is impossible. Haha! |

How much aa price for 195 55 15 one??issit too much differ from 185 one? i prefer comfort tho,not taking any sharp corner at high speed.i drive slow slow Throw NCT5 away... i will not buy that again i swear... very easy to break the tire's traction... skid a lot... |

C drive also good... try 195/55 R15... give you a lil more comfort than 50series...
yea... Sime, GY NCT series, Dunlop D-01, Continental CC-1, BG MY-01 also... all this is good for budget but traction of course will lose out... Dunlop D-01, Continental CC-1, BG MY-01 still ok for normal driving in dry and slow driving in wet... |

QUOTE(Tonyy @ Nov 18 2009, 10:44 PM) too bad my warranty period over.....4 years already.... U can try those from key shops and it could be cheaper. Reason we all suggest u to go back to toyota SC is to be extra safe, although it might be pricey than outside. When i buy a new key from SC, they give me one without the shape one, means i need to spend money ask others help me to make the key shape. such a stupid. i don mind to spend some money to get a better quality one. pls tell me where can i get? Reason was it is related to electronics and if u change outside there are chances ur alarm will go waywire. U dont want that to happen. Bang for buck semi performance tyres. Grippy at dry but once its on wet, i got a few times my car went split away, so traction while on wet is so so compared to vios stock tyres which is grippy in both wet n dry. I may consider potenza adrendelin when changing my tyres.Throw NCT5 away... i will not buy that again i swear... very easy to break the tire's traction... skid a lot... QUOTE(travis_ckf @ Nov 19 2009, 11:29 AM) Trust me, for ppl like u, sell ur car. Oh... selling my car now will cause a loss of rm15-20k as it is only 1 n half year old vios. But i think dynamat on firewall will be useful but must wait until warranty period over. Actually my case is just like some ppl demand for better tyre which have better grip on dry n wet condition. Some ppl may complaining tat their tyres are not performing as wat they wan. Dun tell me tat the only solution is to sell their car as they may choose the right tyres n my solution will be choosing the right place to sound proof.Sorry for my useless advise but i dont think even spending 10k to sound proofing a vios is worth it. My bad, i havent though of tyres as well.Going for comfort and quiet tyres is also another way to reduce noise. Alot ppl recommend either michelin pp2 and goodyear F1 Asymmetric. Best in comfort, less noisy as grippy as well. |
