2.5K is quite steep for me. I rather spend the money for some decent tyres n rim upgrade together with lower springs. Well that gonna cost more than 2.5k for sure sweat.gif
*
Lowered springs ?

I just had mine replaced with Tanabe GF210 after carefully reading feedbacks from most forums including TVCM and also my friends hearsays. Seriously if you don't mind stiffer ride (yeah I do mean it) compensated with better handling then go for it. I've experienced my beloved bottom scraped at my house. Maybe the tanabe's is too low or you can opted for adjustable coilovers but it's still stiff for non-maniac like me. Serious suspension upgrade is a must if you a track 'kaki' otherwise it would be waste on our pariah roads. Titan custom adjustables maybe a good option for comfy ride with decent handling.

How low is low for a Tanabe GF210 ? Mine is like below.

Wow how you know my favourite?  biggrin.gif

Yes I'm more on comfort side. Anyway I like performance too but not now because I don't have so much money for performance, so I go for comfort first. Unless in future I got money, then I'll go for continental rides.
Wow...poison. Nice looking!
*
Lol, it's unintentional poison lah tongue.gif

I only wanted to show the actual height once it's slammed smile.gif

I still remember your nick in tvcm, you're driving a black tom's right ?

Btw, nice autofoam review there.

HI guys.
It's been some time since i logged in due to work & moving house. Great to know that there is now an official club in LYN for our car.
I'm driving the new model S spec. Got it in March '08. Hope that i can have my name updated in the list too.  blush.gif
*
I can sense the Guang Dao power brows.gif

QUOTE(oec88 @ Nov 3 2009, 07:44 PM)
I got that problem too, especially heavy passengers.

Now I have to check my absorber mounting, got sound when go over uneven roads, annoying.
*
Another tedious job, you have to dismantle the rear seat to check out the mountings sweat.gif

QUOTE(travis_ckf @ Nov 3 2009, 10:05 PM)
Nice, well i plan to put Tanabe lower springs when i upgrading my tyres t 16 inch. I okay with stiffness but hopefully not as bad as my previous myvi with gab springs + absorbers which i awfully hard.

Btw what tyre size are urs? And mind adding u inside the list? notworthy.gif
*
2nd gen vios wheel's arches are bigger than the 1st gen. Maybe you can use higher profile tyres like '50' instead of '45' to retain some comfort and less risk of getting rims bent when accidentally hitting potholes. AFAIK GAB is known for its super stiff characteristic. I heard some of the owners were complaining of the harsh ride. Tanabe, Eibach and Tein are the most sought after lowering solutions.

I'm using 195/55/r15. Fat and safe selection when driving in potholes laden roads of KL and pocket friendly too when shopping for tyres.

Yeah sure, I'm driving a 06 facelift 1st gen E spec. smile.gif

Yes, I'm the oec88 from TVCM forum registered member, not really active in that forum anymore, mostly I'll hang out in Lowyat forum.

Dismantle the rear seat, I guess it's quite an easy job. Our Toyota Vios rear seat is "plug n play".  doh.gif
*
Mine is an E spec and doesn't have rear folding seat sad.gif

Need to dismantle it when to change the rear absorber. Actually it's quite easy but with beige coloured interior those are easy to be dirtied by the mechanic when dismantling sweat.gif

Nah, just recommending a good SA to ppl. tongue.gif
Saw that too, looks like turbo charging is a way to go to get more horses for the 1NZFE. But the gearbox does overheat too. sweat.gif
*
AFAIK it's low pressure turbo running at 0.6 bar. So it's safe for the internals and of course no need to fiddle with compression ratio tongue.gif

As for the gearbox, you can always install ATF cooler with readily made solution or even getting it at chop shop for a lesser cost. smile.gif

Otherwise just trash the auto-box and get manual gearbox with manual trans ecu as well tongue.gif

which is best SC? any body have try at balakong?
when i turn my stereng. i found more turning to right than left?
thinking to send SC to repair...
already asking other wokrshop and tyre shop but they can do it because my stereng have ABS...  sad.gif
*
I would recommend you to go to SC as well.

QUOTE(SK_C @ Nov 8 2009, 11:14 AM)
any idea how the Vios'06 rear absorber price is? 1 set...including service?
where can find a "window cover", how much it cost?
*
If you in KL, you can go to any spare parts shop at Jalan Ipoh.

QUOTE(yuckfou @ Nov 8 2009, 11:27 AM)
which shop is recommended to install bodykits?
*
Most people will recommend to do it at Sunway but it depends. Not all shops have good workmanship, so it's up to you decide smile.gif

anyone know where can get better quality car key for vios? Toyota's one very bad, my key (with remote inside) almost break to few pieces liao after 3-4 yrs of use....
*
You should ask for replacement at Cobra TTDI during the warranty period. I already replaced mine this year for free. The newer remote and immobiliser are more sturdy than the old ones albeit looking the same.

too bad my warranty period over.....4 years already....
When i buy a new key from SC, they give me one without the shape one, means i need to spend money ask others help me to make the key shape. such a stupid.
i don mind to spend some money to get a better quality one.
pls tell me where can i get?
*
Actually, it's better to go to Cobra to replace the key. Just bring your service manual and ask them. The boss seems like a friendly chap when I spoke to him that day.

Yes bro... Changed to Michelin PP2 but still noisy. So i think to prepare a budget of rm1-2k to sound proof. If really cant solve the only solution is like wat u said. Sell it. Haha!
*
I can assure that the Thai made Michelin PP2 isn't that silent because I'm currently using one. Come to think about it, I have upgraded from 175/65/R14 to 195/55/R15, Thus the road contact is wider and lower profile making it stiffer and noisier.

I have the same intuition like you but looking back from the record, michelin threads aren't designed to last long, so enjoy the grippy ride and get more comfortable tyres when the replacement is due. tongue.gif

bro you are wrong... tongue.gif it depends... try to use same size Hankook V12 on ur car... it will be comfort...
all tires have different properties or so call characteristic... PP2 sidewall is hard, it give you more handling... V12 is soft, it give you more comfort... for V12 it will give you good amount of grip that u need but PP2 give more traction in the wet than any other tire does... how??? it still depends on you preference... i had use 3 sets of PP2 and now on V12... V12 is so call cheap and it is having what PP2 has except the aquaplaning...
if you wan to last long... use Duraplus from GY and try to set 195/60 R15... i guarantee that u will complain of its traction in wet... so there is nothing 100%... choose what you want...

again if u feel the ride is harsh on ur Vios... try to put PP2 on CT... u know what is harsh then... and also if you want good handling u must compensate it with comfort.. so if you still need comfort and handling use V12 but u have to compensate a lil on it's noise...
*
Is it me or you're still seeing dejavu on 'Tire discussion thread' ?

Anyway, It's a known fact about the harder sidewall of the PP2 and you were emphasizing it strongly in the related thread. Thus, there is no need re-explain it again. In fact I bought the PP2 based on the opinions there too. Set aside the facts, I was reviewing based on my experience and prior to my aftermarket absorber and spring setup (I was experimenting Monroe Reflex coupled with Tanabe GF210) I experienced a little discomfort about the noise produced. Now, I have changed the springs back to original and but retained the monroe. The noise is tolerable but tyre stiffness still there. Well, it's about compromising, PP2 is a grippy tyre and very good in handling aquaplaning, I have whacked it during corners while raining and it still hold firmly. smile.gif

Hmm, I'm quite skeptical with the result taken from speedometer. Sudden surge from 0 - 50 km/h ? The tyres screeching ?

I think the realistic result is by doing dyno or drag from point A to B using precision instruments.

yeah! confirmed by xbalance already...hehe
anyway the owner using throttle controller thingy which can make the surge. as vios auto in stock already can feel the sudden surge if step the throttle pedal suddenly, if install the controller plus a manual vios, that explains the huge sudden boost
*
Pivot throttle controller ? tongue.gif

QUOTE(vios2002 @ Jan 4 2010, 08:23 AM)
not both lah... somethings like the pivot unit can boots the throttle controller things...
like when apply 50%gas it will open about max close to 98% ...this thing dont create extra horse power.

just to cheat the throttle control unit.
not really sudden boost, this thing just like when u step the gas paddle at Max still get the same function....

dont waste money, now days FC is more important.
*
It depends. I treated my vios as a reliable workhorse, therefore I will never trash my car inside the track although most of my friends persuaded me to do so. Sometimes I needed the spirited drive, thus I upgraded the wheels and suspension and nothing more. Some people they modified their car as if they wanted to enter a racing competition but in the end they only use the car for 'daily to and fro'. Vios is designed to be an economical car, nothing more or less. It's their choice, lol, but it's good for automotive business tongue.gif . As for me, I rather buy another car for weekend/track drive. Probably a toyota mr-s or lotus elise should be good. smile.gif

i need some advice here.for toyota aircond service, what do they change actually?bcoz the cost is Rm300++...if they just refill the gas, then it'd be better for me to refill the gas at normal workshop only, much more cheaper..

i'm currently servicing my vios for 20k service, the SA advised me to service my aircond but I said toyota recommend this when the mileage is 30k.
*
Servicing means they takeout your dashboard to check everything in your car's air-conditioning system. This includes piping works and gas refilling as well. I had my 1st aircond service at 50k km. It's not really compulsory as your engine or transmission service. If you had the aircond filter installed, I guess it wouldn't be a critical case to follow the actual schedule.
