I almost pengsan when I saw the doggy wipes at Petsmore. Definitely much more expensive than baby wipes. RM20 plus for 10 to 15 pcs. Crazy !!!!
Jason :- Wouldnt the corn flour make the paws sticky ?

QUOTE(Rayne @ Nov 18 2009, 09:10 AM) I don't really know if baby wipes will cause allergies, but I usually get those without alcohol...and since babies naturally have quite sensitive skin, I figured it might be okay. Scottie didn't have any bad reactions to it, just that he doesn't like to be wiped... Tat is what i tot , ie baby wipes should be OK as babies have sensitive skin as well. I might just give it a try . Max hates being wiped and I was just thinking about "puppy boots". Anyone tried ? Actually all these doggie stuff is more expensive than human stuff !! BTW, anyone tried dog boarding services ? Any good recommendation, preferably not too expensive and around PJ /Sri Damansara/Menjalara area. My sis told me that some (esp the cheaper ones) are quite dirty and the dogs will come back with fleas and ticks !!! My family and I might have to go away for a weekend next month and we cannot bring Max along. Looking after a puppy is really no joke !!! This post has been edited by rkkyong: Nov 18 2009, 02:34 PM

QUOTE(Rayne @ Nov 18 2009, 02:56 PM) You might want to test them on Max at the shop first before actually purchasing it...I initially thought of getting those doggie shoes for Scottie, but when I put them on him he refused to walk AT ALL. When I did eventually get him to stand up and take a few steps, the way he walked and the look he gave me was hilarious! I opted no for the shoes since...haha! But there are some dogs who eventually got used to it, so it depends on how determined you are, I guess Ha ha ..... I saw lots of doggie shoes when my kids switched on the "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" DVD for Max to watch last Saturday. Too bad Max just wasnt interested in the movie

QUOTE(kerrie @ Nov 19 2009, 06:08 PM) he got fix eating time wan ar? luckily daisy and happy dun have. but daisy will scold (bark) wen da sky starts to get dark. But i won;t give her eat straight away wan. Let her wait so she won't get up on my head according to what i read , it is better to have a fixed time .... also easier to toilet train as one would know when they poop (ie usually after dinner). so breakfast is 6.30 am and dinner is around 730 pm

Max's routine has gone haywire in the past week. Previously he will poop in the tray immediately after breakfast n dinner. Now he just wont. When I put him in the tray, he will whine and can even lie down n rest there .......Max's routine has gone haywire in the past week. The MS is 1 1/2 years old and my Max is already the same size if not bigger . It makes me wonder if I really got myself a "Miniature" Schnauzer. But then i read that MS can go up to 10 kg plus This post has been edited by rkkyong: Nov 23 2009, 11:43 AM Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(Rayne @ Nov 26 2009, 10:26 AM) I would prefer Desa Park (coz I haven't been there) and maybe in the evenings (like 4pm or so). Not so hot then, but these days it's raining like crazy in the evenings, so... But again, I'm not confirmed just yet If I can go, I will go regardless of time or place So, you guys vote first la http://www.thebabyloft.com/catalog/map.htmlu can get the map to parkcity fr the above link after one utama, drive towards LDP to ikea n sri damansara. after the sri damansara toll, keep left and u would see a caltex station . after the caltex, there is a "u" turn on yr right. take the "u" turn back to the one utama direction. immediately after the "u" turn, keep left. take the 1st turn on yr right. drive uphill and u would reach a roundabout. make a 3 o'clock turn. at the roundabout u can see the big parkcity sign is there on the retaining wall . u cant miss the sign unless u r

Grooming - Expectations .......
Sorry if the question sounds stupid !!!
I was kind of lazy to bath Max last Sat. So I tot I would send him for grooming at the neighbourhood pet shop. It was the 1st time. I dont know if the groomer was bz or wat but she said that Max (at 3 mths plus) is too young for full groomin which would make the fur coarse. Wat do u guys think ? So she suggested a bath , ear cleaning, nail clipping , under body shaving etc
The shaved part under his body was all red after the session . Is it normal ? and max was scratchin like mad .
I also found clumps of fur in the plastic crate I used to ferry Max to the shop ? And when I let Max into the house , the whole house was full of short fur. I had to sweep the living and dining area twice. And wash the crate as well. Is this normal ? Or should she clean Max properly (ie remove all loose fur) b4 returning him to me.
I am not going back 4 sure ........

QUOTE(jason86 @ Nov 26 2009, 02:27 PM) if not mistaken, i told u that better not to send the puppy for grooming before he finished his last vaccination. the reddish underpart is due to the allergy ..this happen whn they nvr sterilize or clean the tool properly.... for a groomer, they shld clean and touch up everything before returned the puppy to owner...i dont think that shop is reliable since 1st...they nvr ask if the puppy finished his vaccination laready or not(puppy might get infected if there are dog that with parvo virus(deathly virus) for a good grooming place, u shld ask if they sterilze their equipment after every grooming session o not. U can request for that .. . She didnt ask but Max is already fully vaccinated....... I only started taking him out 2 weeks after his last vaccination. Another groomer (nice shop and highly educated) is even better. At tat time, I told her that Max was not fully vaccinated yet . She assured me that it is OK as all the dogs in her shop are clean . Maybe her eyes can see viruses. How irresponsible !!!

QUOTE(kerrie @ Nov 26 2009, 05:45 PM) i dunno how to go desa park wor..can someone lead me there from bu park? so our gathering starts at 11am ar? coz these days not raining d wor...i think i wil bring treats for our furkids lor...coz i dunno wat to prepare for them. for human food, maybe i will bring home-made cookies...see if i got time to bake anot... If u guys are not sure on how to get to desa parkcity, u better stick to central park la ...... after the "U" turn, if u miss the 1st left turn, u would be heading back to the toll booth and bandar utama. but if u follow my directions, there are signboards. there is one near the "U" turn. there is also one after the "U" turn directing you to turn left . one you turn left , really cannot miss already . but if u miss the left turn, sorry fren - there is no turning back as it is all the way to the toll

Hi , Is it OK to send a 4 mth old MS for full grooming ? Dunno if the groomer was too bz and lied to me. She only did basic grooming and told to wait until 6 mths of age. She told me full grooming at 4 mths old would make the fur coarse !!!
(P/s And I see Tom's pic above with his head fully groomed)

QUOTE(Rayne @ Dec 4 2009, 09:04 AM) Actually, doing a full groom on a Min. Schnauzer using clippers won't cause the coat to be coarse...on the contrary, it will be soft. The groomer probably doesn't really know much about the breed. The wiry, harsh coats that is the standard for Min. Schnauzers only come with hand stripping. So, no worries if you send your pup for a full groom When I first got Scottie also, he was fully groomed already...the first time I sent him to the groomers also I think he was about 4-5 months old Thanks Audrey .... I really cannot tahan the way Max looks now !!! and I wont send him back to the previous groomer bcos Max came back all red and itching all over
