Wow..very nice pics ericyong!

lynnoyw, I also seem to have this problem. My Poppy's mouth is starting to have stains and I'm looking at different products to try and keep them clean.

I went to the pet's exhibition on Sunday and it was really packed! So many people brought their furkids out to have fun! Too bad Poppy is still not rdy to go out yet (3rd vaccine done! Now waiting for the 10 days to pass, then we're rdy to go out!)

On the first shop (the pet shop in Taman Megah next to the big food court) had many cute and really beautiful MS for sale. I saw at least 3 MS there. I also saw a cream colour MS (which I think is a mix bread) for sale at another pet booth.

One question, my poppy is almost reaching 5 months old. She's currently eating orijen for puppies..I noticed the Crude Protein content is very high (almost 40% i think). Is this brand ok for my pup? I fed her eukanuba (spl?) at first and ppl told me its not good for the dog so i switched. I've also got a sample of Addiction (salmon) but have yet to let Poppy try it out. Is this a good brand as well?

Hey bebe_jenny28, Thx for your quick reply. Really appreciate it. I think I'll let Poppy finish half the orijen first before I buy another bag of this addiction to let her try or I'll end up with too much food.

It seems salmon is a good ingredient for our furkids as many ppl recommend it.

Anyway, will there be any MS gathering by chance this weekend? I'm planning to bring Poppy out to a dog friendly park (maybe central park or Desa park City).

Great to meet you guys at DPC the other day. It was Poppy's first time out and she was so scared at first. She just stood still and din wanna walk much.

I thought that the meeting was cancelled as i din see anyone near the children's playground so I just walked and Poppy around till I met GenkiGal with her cute Pepper! Soon after furrybutts with her smiley face Sherry joined us.

It was so fun seeing the furkids running around chasing each other. I'll try to bring Poppy there every Saturday from now on as she was so happy! Great outing. smile.gif

Haha.. i named it Shino d.. Sunshine sounds gd oso.. still can change? hahah... i dun wan he grown until so big like shrek! hahah~ guys, my boy refuse 2 eat himself.. he wan me 2 feed him the dog food 1 by 1.. is it because he still small? how many times u all feed ur MS per day when it is still 2 months? i told 2 feed 3 times a day... but i'm working.. only able 2 feed him twice a day wor..
*
Hey little^p,

Good to know another puppy MS here! Do you have pictures of Shino? The name Shino sounds good too.

On the feeding, it all depends on the puppy. My Poppy eats way too fast and I resort to feeding her little by little to stop her from eating up her kibbles within seconds. I actually timed her eating by herself and she actually finished her food in less than 10 seconds! I read some articles last time saying if your puppy doesn't want to eat, take up the bowl from him/her within 10 mins. This will let them know that if they dun eat their food, no food will be given on other times. However, this methd (I believe) should only be done to an adult dog and not your puppy.

Maybe Shino is a little scared and is still exploring his new environment. Feed him manually but slowly put his kibbles on his bowl. On the feeding times, Poppy is also fed twice a day only the day she came home with me. I was also told to feed her 3 times a day but due to work, I'm only able to feed her twice a day.

Since you have so many other dogs, I'm sure u're already an experienced dog owner already! Get Shino's vacination done quickly and join the other MS on the weekends in DPC. I'll try to come every weekend to let Poppy socialise with other dogs as often as possible.

Cheers!

Hey Rayne,

Thx for the advise. Will surely try the pingpong ball method and see how it works (Btw, my MS is Poppy wink.gif Sherry is furrybutts cute MS)

As for Poppy, she doesn't mind if I sit next to her and I've been petting her eversince she's home with me , while eating. She gets overly excited when eating and often chokes. Thats why i resorted to hand feeding her bit by bit. But she's been a good girl recently cause I've trained her to only eat when I say its ok to eat. I'll leave her bowl and ask her to stay and only on insturctions, she's allowed to eat. However, she still gobbles up her food.

No problem at all. There are so many new MS now in this forum (all about poppy's age wink.gif ). I dun even remember human names, let alone furkid's names.

Now I know what I did wrong. I've always said in a very excited way to tell Poppy her dinner is ready. I should stay calm and keep quiet when feeding her. Thx for the tips!

I'll be at DPC this Saturday evening. Everyone who is free, pls drop by. Poppy girl is very deprieved of doggy friends and needs to socialise more. Plus, its so fun watching them chasing and sniffing each other.

Cheers!

Wow..been busy for a few days and I see lots of post to catch u to.

daphne1985, I was told that MS was quite a noisy dog before I got my Poppy and was a little scared also at first. However, many ppl have also said that it is impprtant to let ur MS socialise since young with dogs and other humans alike. For your case, just walk Murphy around your neighbourhood and have him on leash at all times. if he poo, get ready to clean it up and dispose it away safely. I don't see why your neighbourhood will mind you walking your dog around if you're doing it responsibly.

little^p , Poppy used to eat her poo too when I frist brought her home. I asked around and some ppl told me it is maybe I dun feed her enough. I started feeding her a little more and she seemed to stop eating her poo now. I don't know if thats the main reason. Maybe u'll need to be firm and tell your furkid "NO" in a very stern voice every time they start to sniff at their poo.Try the pineapple thing also as I heard it could be effective.

Poppy was at DPC last weekend (saturday) but it started raining heavily at approx 6pm..so it was only a very short outing for her. I should be going again this saturday evening from about 5pm. Hope to see some other MS there too!

It'll take time for Murphy to be friendly to others. Maybe he's not so comfortable with strangers now but in time, he should be ok.

I really hope the weather will be good this weekend. Poppy really enjoys her Saturday walks in DPC. Hey Furrybutts, is Sherry doing ok now in the obedience training? I'm still considering to send Poppy there but I'm actually training her myself a little now. I also realised that Poppy doesn't really like to be on her leash and when she's leash free, she'll just run beside me closely.

I'll be at DPC tomorrow evening at about 5pm!

Aww..dun worry. I'm sure Murphy will meet Poppy 1 day. Sigh..the weather these days so unpredictable. I just hope it doesn't rain so much in the evenings when Poppy is due to her DPC outing. How did Murphy do there? Did Murphy socialise well with the other dogs?

I'm usually there by 5pm on Saturdays. Can't do Saturday mornings as I work half day every Saturdays sad.gif

I'll take Poppy for a run when I arrive and let her socialise after abut 40mins - 1hour of speedwalking/running.

Sorry, can't help on this as I've never had a >5 year old MS. However, I did have a daschund with me for over 10 years (until the dog boarding lost her during CNY 3 years ago sad.gif ) named Sammy.

Sammy did not show signs of bladder problems even when she was approaching 10 years old. However, she's a diff breed so I don't know if its the same. Do check her condition and seek a vet's advise.

On the peeing problem, maybe u can use wee pads (but can be expensive) cause it absorbs the pee and not cause so much mess.

White MS? I saw 1 the other day. Looks quite pretty actually. Planning to get another furkid to accompany Sherry? I was thinking of the same the other day. Maybe another MS or a toy poodle.

Guys, guess what..ever since Pepper got sick she doesn't have much appetite on her kibbles, and now she's recovered and she's just suddenly got bored of her kibbles.

I can't believe a dog that's so greedy can be bored of kibbles =.=" She even left her lunch and dinner untouched in auto feeder when i got home yesterday nite...headache =.="

Kesian this Mummy "masuk stock" during Pets World because it's cheap..now i'm looking for new kibbles to mix with the existing kibbles. she will eat if we mix the existing kibbles with other kibbles. I tried mixing her existing Addiction Salmon Bleu with sample pack from Natural Balance and she happily finished them up in seconds =.="

Anybody know any pet shop already start selling NOW! or GO! kibbles? Heard that they are really good ^^
*
I'm gonna go shopping for food these few days. If I happen to see NOW! or GO! I'll let u know.

Yeah. I'm planning to change to Addiction salmon for puppies from orijen for puppies. I find orijen's puppy formula a little too high in protein (40%).
