QUOTE(deriku @ Jan 21 2011, 02:25 PM) My recently acquired shoes. Not EG, Lobb...just made by a local shoemaker. Quality seems pretty good, whether it will hold up to wear remains to be seen. [attachmentid=2007329] Have been trying to make them a darker shade of brown by polishing. Not sure if Saphir Creme de Luxe is the right cream, but it didn't turn out too bad. A Shanghainese handmade shoe? Is the insole made of thick leather?

QUOTE(attacusatlas @ Jan 23 2011, 11:56 AM) i did a comparison with valmour. bexley's shipping charge is still more 'affordable' that valmour. i am eyeing on the cedar shoe tree, euro59 for 5: http://www.bexley.com/Bexley/shoe-Embaucho...cReferrer=12621surely, you now have more shoe trees than you have shoes that need them.

I made the seller of the penny loafer an offer for USD40 (+USD40 for shipping). Let's see if he bites. BIN price is USD50, which is still reasonable.
The loafers are dirty and need shampooing. Did it once to my Cheany's and they turned out like new.

The only Tod's I would buy are the Gomminos. BTW I bought the Bally suede penny loafers. Didn't wait for him to accept my lower offer. Added on February 13, 2011, 1:12 amThe only Tod's worthy of a Tan Sri: This post has been edited by kotmj: Feb 13 2011, 01:12 AM

I vote for this. Sohai fesyen is all about bling, it's about happy clothes, it's about being branded from hair to toe. The first pair of shoes look anonymous and anti-bling. The second one harmonizes best with Armani suits and Hermes hankerchiefs.

QUOTE(sembilan @ Feb 23 2011, 09:48 AM) Hi, wondering if anyone of you here has any experience with shoe stretching services? i have a pair of C&J and sent it to the cobbler in ikano power centre (good store, but it took around two weeks to stretch the shoe and still not done). i took it back after roughly 12 days, tred it at the store, was fine, and this morning, it seems to be "tight" again. anyone has any idea where/ what i should do to stretch the shoe? it's slightly snug cos i have a weird right foot. Thanks in advance. Shoes like these are often uncomfortable for several months before breaking in. You can buy shoe stretchers, saturate your shoe with Saphir Renovatuer, and stretch them. Or try a different cobbler.

"tight but not unbearable" is about right, in 6 months of regular wear they will fit fine.
Added on February 24, 2011, 10:35 pmThere is a reason why I'm so partial to 2nd hand shoes.
Added on February 24, 2011, 10:40 pmsuede shoes break in faster
