6 months experience is hardly any experience to your new employer. In the event the new company has set the fresh grads pay to be RM2k (example), i guess you can only ask for a fresh grad pay or maybe RM100 extra. |

you are overly optimistic (well most fresh grads are). Working in MNC does not mean u can earn RM10k before u reach 30. Example, a garbage collector isnt going to be paid 10k. It depends on what job you are doing and how much impact / contribution you did towards the well being of the company. For your point number 2, if people did know what kind of business can allow ur salary to shoot up like crazy, everybody would be doing it and all of us will be millionaires. Whois going to share with u that information? Point number 1, you should really work then you will know the hard truth. If you are being paid RM1500 you expect your salary to baloon up RM3k within 2 years? Not that its unheard of but please do take note that you are asking for roughly 40% increase every year. U think thats gonna happen? LOL. What are the chances? You assume you are going to work hard just as everyone. Less talking more action. Even if you do work hard, how do you know ur peers are not working as hard or even harder than u? R u sure the job that you are working hard on is a big contribution to the company? All in all, get a job, do not think about money first and focus on learning. YOU CANNOT DEMAND A BETTER SALARY UNLESS YOU HAVE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE TO OFFER. |

Join sales line then. You control how much you earn. But MOST PEOPLE do not make it up the corporate ladder. Competition is fierce and its a dog eat dog world for sales. Only the very best gets to climb the ladder while the rest remain below. |

5 years and earning RM5k ? isnt much especially in sales line. I have a friend earning RM6k/month in sales line (fresh grad but oh my god he works like a dog. His average of RM6k/month started after working for 10 months+). Then again, some other field have people earning RM20k with 5 years exp (Check SAP thread). Overall, when you come out to work, do not expect too much especially when you are a fresh grad. The working reality will crush you hard. |

Sales isnt the only career that you can eat lunch for 2 hours Come out and work and you will understand why sales is hard. NOT EVERYONE can do sales. |

anyway, for sclumberger, those that are contributing to the core business of the company (direct relevance to the generation of revenue to the company) instead of doing supporting / administration work such as accounting etc, to get 4k you definately dont need 2-3 years experience. Fresh grads - 1 year exp get that already. |

Schum and petronas does not offer 4k for ALL fresh grad. Just SOME fresh grads positions. I'm talking bout the ceiling price for fresh grads that is offered bu those companies. HSBC pays (RM2.8k to 3K) + 1.2k Allowance. Again, this is not for ALL. Only selected few for certain positions. |

Ur calculation is wrong. You included the 3 years u use to get a diploma into the equation? LOL. Then what are the degree / MBA / phd holders doing? To get a fresh grad job I have to use 4 years for my degree.. wrong equation in my opinion. |
