a very nice oc guide for new starter and oldman like me:

Dolk's Guide to the Phenom II

*credits to Dolk @ Tech reaction for this amazing guide. thumbup.gif

my thoughts on d voltages:

htt voltage = needed when htt oc is done
nb voltage = voltage for nb on mobo, less critical for k10 oc
cpu-nb volt a.k.a imc volt = needed when nb freq increased, nb volt of older architecture like k8, important when htt/nb freq oc is done

judgin from d peekture below, nb on mobo nowadays doesn't really related to ram/chip oc since d built-in nb a.k.a imc (in d chip) is d one who's directly connected to ram. i mite be wrong thou... don't have enuf time to google, still can't find what's d exact role of d nb... arghh... mad.gif

nothing.. coz the gpu itself not fully utilize it..
if amd proceed to integrate gpu in the cpu later.. that nb become more useless..
that's the reason why nvidia pull out from the market..

it's still to early for gpgpu to replace discrete graphic imo. it will take few more years for d technology to mature. hmm.gif

for me, nvidia paid d price of bein greedy, that's why they're out of chipset business. tongue.gif

it's moving to that direction.. same like intel..
now changed the name as PCH..
later the nb will only have to support that display port for mobo n other pci-e lane..
mainly focus on budget mobos..

basically in amd has 42 pci-e 2.0 lanes..
two - 16x (32x) for gpu - which no use to oc now..
four for connecting to sb..
six for others n integrated peripherals.. which more than enough speed..

had a short spell w/ 140 watter b4. i'd say heat is d main issue which directly affectin d mileage. managed a 3.2GHz prime stable & 3.3GHz 3d benchable. smile.gif

performance wise (same cpu clock) it's not too far behind from its predecessor in deneb, d things that separate d 2 are power consumption & mileage imo. wink.gif

get d 1600 if budget is tight, amd won't fully utilize d available b/width of d 2133 model. save up d $$$ for other stuffs, perhaps a better cooler will help to further improve d oc mileage. 965BE is meant for 4GHz & above... tongue.gif

*give u some pressures... laugh.gif

Agree with this, a 1600mhz is gud enuff ler, IIANM AMD chips doesn't really like too high ram speed, they like tighter timings more tongue.gif
